This little cabin was in a wonderful location and close to hiking trails and little towns. The cabin had a lot of character. There is a flowing brook behind it and the sound was making the location very peaceful. There are friendly neighbors on the street and very little traffic. The only thing I found that could be improved was the cleanliness. But it’s a cabin so it probably should have been expected.
Cozy cabin 10 mins from Gore. Great location and plenty of room for our family. We appreciated all the firewood to keep the woodstove going, and when it snowed all morning while we were skiing we came back to a plowed driveway. We will definitely stay again!
Everything was as described. Rustic stay in the woods. Gore was 8 mins down the road and easily allowed me to pick up and drop off at mountain. We’ll definitely be back!
My family and I had a two-night stay at this cabin for a few days of skiing at Gore Mountain. Our priorities are a clean place to sleep, cook dinners, and relax after spending time on the slopes. Function is more important to us than fru-fru decor. This cabin was exactly what we needed for our purpose. The kitchen was well-appointed with all the cookware and dinnerware we needed. The beds were comfortable and the wood-fired stove allowed us to warm up after a day outside (5 or 6 sticks of wood was more than enough for the entire evening). We were also pleasantly surprised by the short drive to the mountain. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.
Loved this cabin! The craftsmanship of the beams and rustic woodwork was impressive. Our children loved sleeping in the loft. We enjoyed sitting on the porch in the afternoon and sleeping with the windows open to hear the sounds of the brook. Even though it is close to the road, it’s very quiet and felt private.
We were very comfortable for our weekend of ski races- very convenient location to Gore Mountain. As a trio, we had our pick of beds and opted to sleep in the loft together with the dog. The sound of the rushing stream was so nice! We really appreciated the prompt plow-out after the heavy snowstorm!!
The house is was clean and well stocked with kitchen supplies . The sound of the stream was very relaxing.
We enjoyed the proximity to great hikes and North Creek.
The check in was simple and the communication was great.

Perfect Get Away !
This is a great place to just get away, relax and decompress. My husband is a skier so he loved that he could go ski at Gore Mountain during the day. Meanwhile I could read and relax by the woodstove, take our dog for walks and just enjoy the beautiful surroundings. The place is even better than the pictures :) and the pictures were great. Owners were reliable, responsible and trustworthy to rent from. We are already thinking about booking it again in the summer and bringing the family. Perfect mix of nature and places and things to do in area.
My family of 4 stayed here to ski Gore Mountain for a long weekend. This cabin has so much character and is so quaint. It was super clean and super easy to access. The host was very helpful and easy to work with. For those of you who read the review that the street is "sketchy" we didn't feel this way at all and never once felt unsafe. I think that was one persons unrealistic expectation of the area. The location was perfect for skiing Gore-took us less than 10 minutes to get to the mountain. This was an amazing get away for my family of 4
This spotless cabin sits on a beautiful brook and backs up to the woods. There is a wood burning stove and front deck for grilling. The house is situated in a quiet and friendly community, yet you feel miles away from everything. The owners graciously stocked the house. Upon arrival..what you thought you may have forgotten...seemed to be there! The house is close to Gore mountain and plenty of hiking trails. I was very pleasantly surprised with this rental and will remember the time my family spent there fondly. Thank you!!
We loved our stay at the Baker Brook Lodge! The place is absolutely adorable inside and the stream is beautiful. We booked more last minute for a weekend getaway as a base to take our kids to Fort Ticonderoga (a one hour drive from this place) and it was lovely and relaxing. The setup is nice for a family. We found the foam on top of the mattress in the downstairs bedroom to make it the most comfortable of the beds and suggest this for all the beds. The bathroom was very nice. The tv worked great - we used the Roku to log onto our own netflix. The bedroom lighting is a bit dim - but was easily handled - by popping off the lamp shade to read in bed and then popping it back on afterward. We definitely heard a bear across the road - (we're country people) they are very loud being the king of the woods - so we clapped and it didn't pop out. Lots of wild strawberries by the road, and some berries we had never seen before. My 12 and 14 year olds and my husband, self, and dog had no problem going down the slope to play in the creek/stream. It rained while we were there and it was a nice bit of water with jumbo ADK rocks. Lots of great pictures. Had a fire - thank you for providing wood and an axe. Kids found newts in the ring. Saw lots of turkeys and turklets (our made up word for baby turkeys) and deer and a bald eagle. Overall, a fabulous experience and so glad to be able to take our dog. Duke had a good time too.

Cool Cabin, Rough Neighborhood
Very nice cabin design located within 15 minutes of several attractions including Gore Mountain. Cabin is very close to the road and the number of cars racing up and down at high speeds was really odd & annoying. The Cabin is tight against thick woods with a pretty brook right behind it down a short but steep path. The brook is too small to fish but makes a very nice background of nature sounds. Cabin seems newer but furnishings are quite worn out. Rustic is fun but much of the furniture is simply broken beyond comfortable use. Low lighting throughout is calming but really difficult to find any spot bright enough to read a book. We were never able to get any internet service and there is no cell service so we were unplugged while there. There are a couple beat up old dvd players but we could not get either to operate. (Nor the Roku/TV) Most of the dvds were scratched or broken beyond use. Not a big deal. Plenty of much appreciated
household supplies were available and the kitchen is well equipped. Water is on a well pump so better monitor your usage. We did a load of laundry and ran it out. There were instructions to get the pump to reset so all worked out. There were beautiful flowers planted in front of the house which was a very nice touch. The area is quite beautiful!
The cabin was spacious and I loved the rustic look of the wood interior. It was the best of both worlds having a cabin with all the modern conveniences. The brook running next to it was beautiful and I even saw a fisher on the other side of it. It was close enough to North Creek and Chestertown that we were able to go find nice meals and shopping as well as close to many hiking trails. The hosts responded quickly and were very friendly. I would definitely recommend this place and plan to come again.
This cabin was plenty big enough for us to enjoy with our pups. We found all the utensils and pots/pans we needed in the kitchen for meal prep. Spent some mornings with the windows open and a book in hand, reading and listening to the water trickling down the brook in the background. Within driving distance of plenty of hiking and Lake George activities.
I was amazed by the interior of this peaceful hide-a-way. The rough wood construction and stick spindle stairway leading to an open air loft was beautiful. All the beds were comfy, more dishes and cook ware than anyone would need, Wi-Fi and washer/dryer. All was perfect.
We had a great time and I highly recommend it to anyone needing peace and quiet A+.
Great cabin for our stay at Gore. Cabin is beautiful inside with all the woodwork and very clean. Wood burning stove kept the cabin very warm. Check in process was very easy. Overall very pleased with our stay…thank you so much!!
The cabin was great. Maybe a 10-15 mins drive from Gore. Clean and bigger than I thought it would be once inside. We mostly just had 2 adults and a small dog, but had another adult and child for 1 night. Plenty of room to have had a few more people with us. Was wonderful to hear the brook flowing around the property when we went out on the porch. Very peaceful few days at the cabin. We loved it.
Nice camp good for skiing and able to bring our dog. On a pretty little brook. I would stay again for a short 2 day stay. However they need to update their seating furniture and beds for comfort. Also some lighting for us older folks!
