La Petite Terrasse is a typical 18th century old house now rated 3 Stars - Meuble de Tourisme. We sometimes refer to the house as an "apartment", because while it is a self-contained house, it is a small house. The house is renovated to include 21st century amenities. Located just off the Medieval centre of Pezenas, in a small cup-de-sac, the house has 1 bedroom.

First floor: living room, dining area and the kitchen,
next floor: large bedroom with a bathroom and WC.
There is a small roof terrace, very private, but it is only for the sporty at heart because the stairs to get onto the terrace are steep. We advertise the house as an apartment because it is an individual house, but small enough to be considered an apartment.

The house is airy, bright, and we are constantly working to improve the environment. A home away from home, we hope that you, like us, will enjoy the feel of the house and the town. Discreetly in the background, there is a property manager who is always available to give you any help and information that you might need, and ensure that your vacation is as enjoyable as possible.

Petite maison très confortable et parfaitement bien équipée avec sa terrasse intimiste, un grand privilège en centre ville . We came back to Pezenas and this lovely place

We stayed at the house last year and the location suited us very much. The house is well equipped, comfortable and extremely clean. The price is very reasonable considering the area, the location and the confort. We came for 4 nights for the film festival and luckily the weather too, was on our side. thank you for the hosts for making us feel welcome and wanted.

centrally located, and great place for adults

We enjoyed the stay and the fact that the owners took the trouble to installs internet connection (some complained that there wasn't any). We walked everywhere, restaurant movies (in English) and just a walk around the place.

The Perfect Location

Excellent apartment. However the apartment lacked wi-fi, a microwave and a dishwasher. The dishwasher's not that apartment but kitchen towels are. We loved being close to the historic district and enjoyed the folder of information which came with the apartment. Stephanie, the apartment manager, was very helpful.

Excellent location in town

summer time in Pezenas is wonderful for the activities in the streets. the house is situated just one street away from the main road. We had a great time. Not a good place for people that can't climb stairs, because the bedroom is upstairs above the living room. We have visited Pezenas before so we were familiar that all the places have stairs, it is unavoidable, and so we did not mind it, but it is important to mention this for someone who has never been there before.. My sister and myself would like to thank the owners for the excellent kitchen. It is well equipped, and we had a note letting us know that all the ingrédients in the cupboard were left there for us to enjoy. The terrace is is high above living room and the stairs are steep, but once you are there, it is privacy assured. Excellent location to recommend.

A lovely house in a wonderful town

We stayed at this lovely house Les Volets Verts in a delightful location for two weeks in July and had the most wonderful time. The house is perfectly situated for enjoying the very best of this town and the surrounding area with every facility we needed within easy walking distance including several patisseries, the best of which was just across the road next to the Cafe D’Art and restaurants and cafés in abundance throughout the town. The walk to Carrefour is also quite doable. There is a super street market on a Saturday and there was wonderful wine and food festival each of the Friday evenings on the Main Street just steps away from the house. Les Volets Verts was very well equipped with almost everything we needed, for our stay. A microwave would however have been appreciated as at temperatures in the mid to high thirties and no air con it was really too hot to have the oven on so we ate out every evening. Appreciating that this is a personal holiday home, we did find that storage space for our possessions and food stuffs was rather too limited, as the locked cabinets in the bathroom and filled cupboards and drawers in the kitchen, meant we had nowhere to store anything outside of the fridge. The locked wardrobe and flimsy canvass alternative in the downstairs bedroom might also be rethought. Most of all the presence of the bed in the lounge (not shown in the picture) was rather unwelcome as it consumed far too much of an already very tight flooorspace and was not in the least bit comfortable to sit on. This along with lots of other furniture, lamps etc meant that with two 6ft plus gentlemen in our party we were struggling to move in the lounge area. This was the first rental holiday home of very many previously rented by us where we had no Wi-Fi, this was somewhat problematic when trying to plan our day trips. (Our UK personal hotspot did not work in France). These comments are shared as constructive rather than critical feedback as aside from these points we really did like the house and enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to recommend this property. Stephanie the property manager in Pézenas was just wonderful and was very helpful and prompt in responding to questions before and during our trip. Thank you very much Stephanie.

It is always a pleasure to hear that our guests enjoy staying at the house, regardless of the small inconveniences that a holiday home may have, and we are delighted to know that, should the occasion arise, you will return. Of course staying in someone else's property will not always match the style of living that you will have at home - this cannot really be avoided. The 2nd bedroom is normally closed and was opened after a request by one of our guests who wanted to have 2 bedrooms. Since then we had several guests staying and this is the first request we have had for extra space for hanging clothes. True, some will bring more personal belongings than others but, as most of the rental periods are 7 days, we believe that the space provided for personal clothing is sufficient because we feel that having the small table and chairs for computer work, or breakfast in the room, is a nice option for our guests. We also appreciate the request for more space in the kitchen cupboards and have taken this on board so we will reduce some of the items that we leave for our guests in the future to make more room for their personal purchases. We thank you for being such a wonderful guest, and you are welcome back at any time.

Unforgettable Christmas

I stayed in this charming town house during Christmas ,it was the perfect place for me. Because the house was cosy and well equipped and perfectly situated on a quiet street in the center of Pezenas which means walking distance ( 5 min. ) to everything. It was an unforgettable Christmas for me.

Great experience

We recently had the pleasure of staying at volet vert. The location was great and only a short walk to the Main Street which came alive on the Saturday when the fabulous weekly market took over the street. There are many restaurants, cafes, bars and bakeries close by. There are even 2 oyster huts which will freshly shuck for you. The apartment is neat and very comfortable. We had some questions and were easily able to contact the local manager who helped us. Pezenas is a stunning town and the apartment was a perfect place to base ourselves to explore.

We have lived in West Berkshire for the last 20 years in a lively friendly village within a short drive of Newbury, known for its racecourse, infamous bypass and as the home of Vodafone!

My main work is as Managing Director for a business consultancy and my wife is an artist creating abstract paintings and sculptures some of which can be seen in our French home – La Petite Terrasse in Pezenas.

Why they chose this property

We chose to buy in the South-West of France having had many holidays in different regions including Normandy, Brittany, the Vendee, Dordogne, Provence and skiing holidays in the Alps. We wanted to be certain of the weather and particularly loved the Langue d’Oc region with its relaxed lifestyle, great wines, beautiful unspoilt villages and breathtaking scenary. We first visited Pezenas in 2008 staying in a village within a 10 minute drive and it became our regular venue for its many varied restaurants, interesting artists galleries and artisans workshops, and the fantastic Saturday market.

It seemed a natural choice when looking to have a second home to buy somewhere within a 10 to 15 minute drive of this relatively unknown jewel in the South of France. Having then looked at many properties in surrounding villages on a whirlwind visit to the region in September 2013 it occurred to us that it would be better to have our home in Pezenas so we could enjoy dining out and sampling the local wines any evening that we wanted to without having to drive. We completed on Christmas Eve 2013!

The instant we saw La Petite Terrasse my wife fell in love with it. It had recently been completely renovated and very tastefully furnished, the tessellated floors adding a cool Mediterranean feel and with the rare advantage of a roof terrace with both shade and sun trap it was a very quick decision to take the plunge.

What makes this property unique

La Petite Terrasse is first and foremost our second home in a town which we want to become a home from home. We regularly stay at the property but would love for like minded couples to experience the ambience of this characterful town and the surrounding areas.

Although the house is literally two minutes walk from the old part of Pezenas town it is a quiet haven with everything you need close by including two bakeries, a butchers, three cafes, and even a hand made chocolate shop! It will be particularly attractive to couples who want to go out and explore the surrounding villages, vineyards, and larger towns such as Carcassonne, Narbonne, and Montpellier during the day and then come back, park up the car, for an evening of fine wine and dining in Pezenas town.

In the town there is a sports centre, swimming baths and also a cinema which often screens English films. As this is our home we have tried to have everything that we might need including a toaster for toast and marmalade, and a kettle to make breakfast tea – things that are often missing in French gites. Each time we stay we add a little more to the property which we leave to share with any visitors because we want you to enjoy your time there as much as we do.
