When we first walked into the condo, it smelled of mildew. We tried to go on the balcony & the slider in the living room was broken. When you open it, a large piece of greasy metal popped up. I got a broom & cleaned off the balcony myself & got a dustpan full of dirt. The bedroom slider wouldn’t open. We notified the owner who told us the living room slider was worked on last week & the bedroom slider sticks. We got the bedroom slider open & told them we could live with the living room slider & step over the metal piece. Next to our young son’s bedroom is the furnace. No big deal, right? It was covered in cobwebs & layers of dirt. You can tell that it hasn’t been cleaned off, if ever. Considering it’s placement next to a bedroom, that should be done. The couches in the living room were stained & dirty & a layer of grime on the lamps. In the master bedroom, there was a piece of styrofoam duct taped to the headboard to keep it from hitting the wall? For some weird reason, the master bath had an overhead red light when you flip the switch. The bathtub was jetted & had mold all around the jets & the spigot. There was mold in the washer. The countertops hadn’t been cleaned. The fridge had mold at the bottom of it & a piece of wood duct taped to a shelf to hold it in. After contacting the owners again, we were told the mold is “surface mold” & can be wiped off easy & the mold in the washer was because the door wasn’t left open to “dry it out”. They wanted to send a cleaning company in again DURING our vacation to clean AGAIN. We paid for a week of uninterrupted time & having it RE-CLEANED while we were there was unacceptable considering the amount of money we paid. We asked for a refund & they flatly refused saying the cleaning would be an “easy fix”. The amount of grossness in this place was not an easy fix. It was extensive! Our son has asthma & staying in a place like this wouldn’t have been healthy for him. We found another place to stay for the remainder of our trip, clean & free of mold. Since they refused to reimburse us, we’re filing with small claims court, none of which should have to happen but if we have to go back to Myrtle Beach for court, we’ll do it. Don’t let the pics they post fool you like they did us. If I could post the pics & video we took I would, but a few can be seen on another review we posted of this place. NEVER had an issue like this before! Also, the owners posted a review on THIS PLACE which is against VRBO rules!
