Imagine waking up in one of our 3 King bedrooms overlooking the ocean to view the sunrise! Additional 2 bedrooms, one with a Queen Murphy bed and one with 4 bunks, 2 twins, 2 doubles. What will you do today? Lay by the infinity pool, workout in the gym, go scuba diving, snorkeling or have a beach day! Finish your day with a meal cooked in your gourmet kitchen and watch the moon rise over the ocean, while the kids enjoy a movie in the media room they have bunk beds to sleep. Each of your King bedrooms has a beautiful bathroom with walk in closet. You will be able to slide open the entire wall of the living room and kitchen to enjoy complete indoor/outdoor living.

Location: Lighthouse Estates is a 10 minute walk to West Bay Beach. It is close enough to enjoy the fun and restaurants and the beach while still giving you peace and seclusion in your own retreat.

House: Shalymar was completed in 2015 by one of the top builders on the island. All three bedrooms have King beds and full ensuites. There is a fantastic outdoor shower to rinse off after the beach. The house has a back up generator. There are dishes, flatware and glasses for 16 people for both indoor and outdoor meals. The gym has a Precor Elliptical and a Precor Treadmill. There is a large selection of free weights and mats. There is a quiet office area with a desk available. Feel free to use the washer and dryer. The kitchen has everything you need to cook a gourmet meal. We love to cook and really tried to make this a chef's kitchen. The media room has a 60 inch TV with seating for 6 and a digital piano along with bunk beds for the kids or couples that are young at heart. The dining room has a fantastic round table with seating for 8 that was made on the island. The living room has 9 foot couches and a chair and half so there is always room for a crowd to sit around. Outdoor on the patio are lounge chairs for 10 including two that sit right in the pool. There are also two couches and two chairs.

This is really one of the nicest houses on the island made to maximize your time and enjoyment!

Fantastic Home

Great location, house is exactly as seen in photos. Best to have a rental car which Kelley helped us get through a local very friendly guy. Beaches are 5 minutes away and you can explore the area and find some gems for dinner! Highly recommend this house if you want to treat yourself.

Clean, fully stocked home.

Great property! It’s fully stocked with anything you could need and the owner is very responsive. She checked with us before hand to see if we needed a car and arranged for Nancy to cook some meals for us. Nancy is an amazing cook! It was nice to have some meals prepared for us in the home. The only downside to the location would be that the road to and from the beach is really steep, but otherwise really good, safe area.

Breathtaking Setting

The property exceeded our expectations. Wonderful indoor outdoor setting with a great pool area. Great base to set out on island adventures and beautiful beach just a short stop away. Kelly and Chris were great, helped with transportation and even securing the family dinner reservations at one of their local favorites which turned out great. They were available the entire trip for anything we needed or had questions on.

Even better than advertised

Our group of two couples spent a wonderful week at this property. I've stayed at many rentals, and this one was easily one of the most well stocked. The hosts went above and beyond to provide what guests needed for a relaxing stay in Roatan. The dedicated ice freezer and water were perfect touches. Very good communication with us and great suggestions for actives, restaurants, and car rental. Highly recommend!

Awesome place

The home was as described in a beautiful location with great attention provided by staff. The only complaint I have is the the cooking utensils and pots and pans were in very poor condition. We ended up buying a cheap set in town.

Amazing property!

The owner was very responsive when we had a couple of small issues and they were resolved immediately so no complaints! The house has everything you can imagine. I loved the fact that they provided bottled drinking water. I recommend you bring an insulated water bottle to use while you're there. Loved the pool and deck area.

Absolute Paradise!

We spent a week at this incredible property - two families with four teenagers. I can't say enough about how wonderful the house, location, and host - Kelley, were. The house is an absolute wow - and even better than the pictures show. The kitchen was incredible and after busy days on the beaches or excursions, we were always so grateful to escape the people and spend time in the peace of this home. The sunsets, from the deck or in the pool, included a gorgeous view of the ocean. Everything was amazing. You can easily walk to the stunning Grand Roatan Resort and feel like you're right in the mix. They welcomed us there and you can snorkel and hit the beach bar, but when you want peace and time out of the sun, retreat to the house. We loved every minute!

We loved Shalymar!

This home was perfect for our family! The pool was beautiful with an amazing outdoor area! I loved the walkway out to the water! The garage, laundry room, multiple beds/baths and full kitchen were perfect for our family. The temperature in the home was ideal. We felt safe in the neighborhood. We used the snorkeling gear, chairs and cool daily! Thank you for everything!

Second visit and still amazing!

This was my second visit to the property. This time I came with a group of four women - we utilized three of the four bedrooms… all with king beds and private bathrooms. So roomy! We spent the majority of our time in the infinity pool overlooking the ocean… but also enjoyed the spacious house with the large living area and kitchen. The owner was incredibly helpful and responsive. Nancy came and cooked us dinner at the house on two separate occasions which was a treat. We also trekked to local beaches and resorts for a change of scenery. Dinner at Ibigari was spectacularly beautiful and so glad we took the time to go to AJ‘s sloth farm as well. A day trip on Ruthless Charters ended with us catching a huge wahoo which we had cooked up for us at a local restaurant in West End. Definitely plan to visit again!

Dream views in paradise! 10/10

I have to start this with a huge shoutout to Kelley & Kris. Best hosts you could ask for!! After a lot of VRBO experiences (some not so great), these wonderful people are top tier! The communication, recommendations, and help was truly priceless. Kelley text us directly and checked in on us throughout the stay & quickly answered any questions we had. Nancy, the local house manager was so kind and helpful, even when we were running behind checking out. Shalymar is breathtaking, pictures don’t do it justice! The layout was perfect for 4 couples and our little fur baby Betty with an extra room we didn’t even use! The kitchen is well appointed with everything you could need to prep a feast before and after a Beach/pool day! It’s a dream kitchen to cook in, and the ice freezer was a huge plus! All the rooms are amazing, The upstairs suites with private balconies are indescribable, the views!!! One of our favorite things, was the media room/den upstairs! We played card games, watched shows and took our art skills for a spin. Such a fantastic space! The pool is much bigger than it may appear, and the lights inside it are great at night, making for a really nice swim while listening to the waves crash on the cliff below! I’m probably forgetting something or several things to mention, but we all had the time of our lives. After 9 trips to the island of Roatan, this was my favorite trip by far! Look no further than Shalymar, this place has it all!

This House is Super Amazing!

Everything was Amazing! Let me start by saying the views were better than any of the pics. You could just sit there for hours, enjoying the water, which we did, daily! The house is huge, space for days, and super comfortable. Everything was perfect, best vacation we have had in a while. Andrea was there to greet us, and helped with anything that we needed. Kelley was also a great help, ensuring that our stay there was everything we wanted it to be. This house is beautiful, from the front door to the beds to the kitchen, and the pool! Everything was absolutely perfect! We LOVED our stay!!!

The perfect spot with an amazing host

I stay here with my family for about two weeks. The attention to detail and cleanliness were amazing. Both the host and the on location property manager were so helpful and responsive to everything. The property is on the backside of West Bay, so if you get a quiet and safe neighborhood with the ability to get to West Bay in less than 5 minutes for a more active day. There is also a little restaurant and bar that is a short walk away that is perfect for sunsets. It was the perfect place for our extended get away. Thanks team for everything!

Easter week trip

The property is as nice as it presents on the listing. The owner was excellent in responding to questions and concerns before, and during our stay. They arranged our airport shuttle, and a rental car was delivered to the home for us. The home has beautiful ocean facing windows, and unfortunately during our stay the winds were high. This created a film on all of the windows that caused us not to be able to see out of them well. The host has the windows cleaned once they were aware of the issue, which was greatly appreciated. The home is a quick 15 minute walk to great snorkelling on West Bay and the nice beach/restaurants. We all left very impressed with the entire experience and would highly recommend this host and home to anyone considering staying in Roatan.

Friends diving trip

Kelley was super flexible with us and our various departure and arrivals with different friends. She also helped us with setting up the pre departure COVID testing. I was glad we had a vehicle so that we can enjoy both the quiet property and the busier towns. A great experience all around and the house has everything you need. 5/5 stars.

Beautiful quiet neighborhood

The property was beautiful and the setting was very quiet as advertised. Our family has a wonderful time. I recommend taking a tour your first day to get the lay of the land since you’ll need a car to get around and the driving is a little sketchy.

Gorgeous location with an epic pool.

Shalymar did not disappoint. The home, the amenities, the pool and the location were all tremendous. Kelley and her team were readily available for questions or helpful tips before and during the trip. Our family of 5 enjoyed fun activities on the island as well as reading and relaxing in the epic pool with a view! Shalymar in beautiful Roatan should be on your bucket list!

LOVED IT!!

Beautiful house in beautiful location! So nice we had to force ourselves to go out and see the island. Jannel was fantastic making sure everything was perfect and the owner even checked in to make sure we were enjoying our stay. Only comment would be that advertising it as 4 bedrooms is a stretch. There is a large family room with 4 bunk beds that would be great for children but we were a group of adults and the room could either be used as a bedroom or a gathering place. Having said that, the house was large and plenty of places for friends to gather! Everything was well appointed. Loved the place and highly recommend! Deb

Why they chose this property

The home is designed to have everything we would want if we had 3 couples enjoying a luxury vacation together with our children. Most importantly we wanted each bedroom to be unique and special so that there would be no drawing straws for the best bedroom. We wanted to maximize the indoor/outdoor experience.

We truly believe this is one of the nicest homes in Roatan. It is 3225 square feet with every amenity you can think of. Directly on the iron shore in a quiet safe community just over the hill from west bay
