Great little place for a family outing. Very close to all of our hiking, biking, dining and rafting experiences. Had a blast. The host was helpful with recommendations and very quick to respond during communication.
Our family of five thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The host was communicative and helpful, even allowing us to stay beyond typical checkout time. We especially loved the outdoor pavilion, which was perfect to play board games and watch the World Cup matches. The beds were a little too firm for our taste, but everything else was fantastic and as described.
House and the surrounding grounds were beautiful. Outdoor spaces were a great addition to the trip. Short drive or back road bike ride to Ohiopyle. The rustic charm of the house may not be suited to young children.
Perfect, relaxing vacation! The property was so lovely to walk around and it was an easy ride to downtown Ohiopyle and Fallingwater. We would definitely come back!
We loved how close this property was to Ohiopyle while still being private. The pavilion was a special treat for family movies and s’mores, and we walked up the hill each night to watch fireflies. It was a perfect retreat!
We love staying here any time we visit the area. Its private and within reasonable distance to all activities in the area. Ron is always very responsive and takes great care of the space. The new additions and upgrades are great.
The Ohiopyle farmhouse was a great place for a family getaway. We loved the view from the deck and from the top of the hill. My dog and I loved the paths that were cut around the property. We liked the fact that it was only a few minutes from the main part of town. We would definitely stay there again.

Charming, secluded farmhouse
Ron’s done an amazing job restoring this farmhouse and was very helpful in answering my questions. Would definitely recommend :)
The site and views were beautiful and so close to Fallingwater. The cabin and its renovation are lovely with the kitchen and the views off the deck. The owner was very thoughtful contacting us and advising us about our stay.
An amazing rustic lodge with all the details you would need. Though the bones of this space are hundreds of years old our host fills it with creature comforts and a charm that is fitting for the space. We Will be back for sure.
This is the second time staying at Ron's place. Ron has made great updates to the house since we were last there. We loved the deck addition and spent a lot of times relaxing on the rocking chairs. The property is very private but close to Ohiopyle. We are looking forward to visiting again. Ron is building a pavilion with an outdoor fire place and we're excited to stay again once that's done.
This was our second time staying here, and it won’t be our last! We love the rustic feel, the beautiful outdoor space, and the proximity to Ohiopyle State Park. The upstairs does get warm with no A/C, but it cools off in the evening and there are plenty of fans. Can’t wait to gather around the fire pit here next summer!
We felt so lucky to find this farmhouse to stay for in our 3 day visit to Ohiopyle! Loved the old bones with the comfy updates. The house was great and the outdoor spaces better. A brand new pavilion area with a fireplace is where we spent our evenings. It was hot when we were there but fans outside and AC inside made it perfect. So close to all we wanted to do. Would definitely stay here again, not matter what time of year.
Great location. House has many changes in levels as one moves from room to room; adding to the charm of the adaptive use though the years. Additions are unfinished but functional. Small piles of construction debris around the house and barn.

Rustic getaway
My family stayed here for a few days in April so we could visit Falling Water and bike the Great Allegheny Passage. The kitchen and eating area were lovely and updated. It had a rustic charm, but much of the house is still in need of serious updating -- especially the "master" bedroom area. Having 2 bunk rooms was great for our kids. Ron was in the process of building a patio at the time, so I'm sure that is a lovely addition now. We enjoyed using the fire pit in the evenings. It was somewhat remote, but not too far a drive from Ohiopyle.

The house was built in approximately 1880 by my great-great-grandfather so the structure of the home is old. We have made upgrades to the home (the bathroom and kitchen/dining areas have be completely renovated) and will continue to do so in the future. The master bedroom is slated to be the next room for renovation. However, we will always attempt to maintain the character of the old farmhouse as we make these updates.
This home is exactly as described. It was a perfect place for our ladies’ hiking weekend. It was private, quiet and had a lot of character. Recommend getting the WiFi password written down before arrival since cell service isn’t great at the house.
The house was nice with an updated kitchen and a beautiful outdoor area. Our one complaint would be the comfortableness of the beds. All of the beds had very thin firm mattresses. It was difficult for our group to get a good nights sleep.
Our family of five stayed over the Labor Day weekend and enjoyed our stay immensely.
Cabin can be hard to locate in the dark…but you can’t beat the location. Close to Ohiopyle but not in the hustle and bustle of town.
The cabin is a work in process with remodeling and updates, but that did not dampen our stay. Fully functional kitchen and baths and cozy bedrooms. We spent most of our time exploring the Laurel Highlands, so we were good. Again…can’t beat this location!
Hope to return next summer.
The house was super cute! It was a little difficult to get to. There is signs at the beginning of the road saying no GPS signal. We had gps but it lead us to the house not the drive way. The mailbox is on the opposite side of the road as the drive way. The only other thing to be aware of is there is no direct route to the front door. This was not hard for us. But I could see it being hard for some people. Overall the house is super cute and functional! I would love to see it once the house is finished.
The longer we stayed the more we appreciated the uniqueness of this house. Such a great setting tucked away so it feels like you’re in isolation. Promote to ohiopyle state park was super convenient as we hiked and went white water rafting. Ron was a great host
