Great communication with owners. Nice, friendly neighbors. Safe place if you have kids. Locals were very nice at the nearby stores. Hope to saty again next year.
The inside of the house was beautiful! Everything you needed. Bed were comfortable. House needs some TLC on the outside….pressure washing, deck cleaned…..minor stuff actually….just different in person compared to the VRBO pics. But that didn’t really bother us….the inside was clean. We had a great time and would definitely rent again! Loved it!

The dock was very nice to have. Pretty far walk from the house though. The outside areas need a lot of work. House was nice and size was good but I felt it was dirty. The water pressure was terrible to the point where I could barely wash the soap out of my hair.
It was good. Only problem we all in our 70 and up where boat dock was located was all up hill and no handrails. And other problem no body could do anything about weather was in 90. But it still great stay and host were great. We ask questions and they got back with us right away.
The home was nice, area was great, path to private dock was very convenient along with a wonderful dock itself. I would recommend updating the listing with more details to eliminate unnecessary questions from guests in the future. I.e. what type of coffee maker there is (single serve, filters provided) is the grill gas or charcoal, is propane/charcoal provided for guests, etc. But overall, everything was great.
Our family of 4 adults and 2 teens really enjoyed this place. Lake access was just down the hill a short walk. The wooded area was like a country setting. The house was clean and had most items we needed. It was located a few miles north of Augusta if we needed anything. There were a few bugs, but that is Georgia. Water pressure was a little low. We found we couldn't use both showers at the same time. Could use a cheap Kuerig as most people find that more convenient than trying to meaure out coffee for one cup.
Stayed here to attend a local bass tournament. Overall, this was perfect for me with plenty of parking for boat (did not have to disconnect from truck), easy to back into, great coffee supplied, great communication, and very clean. I do have some feedback for 2 items that people might find troublesome: After a hot 90 plus degree day on the water, coming back each day to a 88 degree house was difficult as it took until almost 3am each night to get back down to 70 deg. It could be that I just couldn't figure out the Nest thermostat, but try as I might, the air would turn off while out. Water pressure was very low which is ok for me but might turn off others. Did not have the opportunity to see or use the dock so no comment on that. Overall, great place with bunk queens in one room, 2 big beds in master, and two twins in 3rd room. I would definitely look to stay here again for future tournaments on Clark's Hill lake.
We love this property ! This was our second stay here in the past 6 weeks ! Convenient to multiple stores for supplies. We found the Publix shopping center offered everything we needed, just like home ! Only 12 miles away. We rented a Pontoon at Clarks Hill Marina and had a blast. We really enjoyed the neighborhood for walks and had lots of fun on the covered dock. Our Boston Terrier was very happy here and enjoyed the freedom without a leash. The house here is very cozy, enjoyed cooking and using nice appliances. The beds and bedding were comfortable. Master BR shower is roomy and updated. Can’t wait to come back, hopefully soon! Thanks for sharing your property with us.
The Covered Dock was our Favorite and we spent much of our time there.
We enjoyed the house overall. It was in a convenient location for us. The dock allowed us to keep the boat there during our stay which was a definite plus. Our Boston Terrier had the freedom to run around outside which was nice too. The kitchen pots and pans could have been better. The microwave also hadn’t been cleaned inside. Overall is was pleasurable. We also enjoyed walking around the neighborhood. We’ll definitely be back.
My two kids and I travelled from Texas and had been on the road many, many hours by the time we arrived at the property. I was excited to finally be there until we opened the door and toured the house and the property. The property is more outdated than the pictures lead you to believe. The master bathroom shower leaked huge amounts of water onto the floor when in use. The master bedroom had a torn comforter on the bed. The back door did not fully open. The flooring was uneven in the house. There were torn/broken blinds on multiple doors and windows. The trail to the lake was very scary and not well marked. To top it off, there were roaches. We were supposed to be there for 5 nights; but, we only stayed approximately 3 hours. The roaches were the last straw. After going back and forth with the owner regarding a refund, I contacted vrbo directly. They worked with me and the owner to give me a full refund. I was sorely disappointed and would not recommend this property.
Pictures provide the impression this house is lake front when it actually is behind a very large house under construction, the walk is treacherous and all down hill to the lake. The dock was not attached to the land. Could not use the property and was denied a refund.

Lake House
The house was clean on inside but very outdated. The oven had broken knobs and several blinds were broken. The outside furniture was old, dirty, and covered with mold. House needs some TLC.
Worst VRBO experience ever. The property was filthy and not suitable for anyone to stay in. Mold throughout the house especially in the bathrooms. No hand soaps provided. Appliances & TV were beyond dated and almost none functional. Upon arrival, the refrigerator was not working properly. Kitchen sink water pressure is so low that you can't even wash dishes if needed. AC doesn't work in Master bedroom at all and has no ceiling fan. House is infested with roaches. Pathway to dock is dangerous & not safe due to loose stepping pavers & old boards. Be sure to read all the fine print as it says accommodates up to 6 people but that is only for 4 adults + 2 children. Owner will charge you more money for additional adult guest even though house has 3 bedrooms. None of the beds were comfortable. Everyone woke up with lower back pain. Do not make the same mistake as we did. This is NOT WORTH the money. You've been warned!

Response from VrboOwner on 17 Jun, 2021
This review is quite disturbing as many of the remarks are not true.
The property is thoroughly cleaned after each guest stay and there is NO mold and no roach infestation. RE: "roaches", in the south there are palmetto bugs... and from time to time you may see these and other critters outside and they may be attracted inside as well. "The palmetto bug refers specifically to the outdoor American Cockroach, while the pests that often invade homes and buildings are indoor German Cockroaches."
The initial booking was for only 4 people with the guests trying to save the additional guest fees. Yes, we fully disclose all details and did charge for the additional undisclosed adult guests and this is likely precipitated this negative review. I do not recommend renting this house if you have more than 4 adults and 2 children unless you plan on bringing air mattresses as one of the bedrooms has only a bunk bed that is not necessary recommended for adults. The description clearly describes the type of beds provided. I do charge extra for additional guests as I do pay additional money on cleaning fees due to more time/cost of washing additional loads of linens.
RE: handsoap - that is correct - I do not furnish that - nor did I say I would
We strive to take care of things promptly when our guest have any concerns - no mention of issues were made to us during the stay regarding anything except the refrigerator. Friday, late evening I got a call that the refrigerator was not cooling... I offered them to bring the food to a fridge in my personal lake house a few doors away and they said they did not want to do that. First thing Saturday morning I ordered a new refrigerator... and the guests texted me that fridge was now working again. I decided to keep the new fridge I just purchased and set up a Sunday delivery to make sure they havd a good fridge. When I informed them that the delivery people are on the way, they said that it was inconvenient and that they would not allow the delivery. The brand new fridge was placed outside and is now installed.
As you can see, if an issue is broght to our attention during a stay, we make every reasonable effort to make it right. If we are not made aware, we cannot address a concern.
Master bedroom does not have a fan - that is correct - but the house has central HVAC and the statement that owner's bedroom does not have hvac is incorrect.
The kitchen has a newer dishwasher, garbage disposal, microwave oven and a brand new fridge. The only thing older is a fully functional electric stove. In addition, while both Smart TV's were working during this stay, we just went and purchased and installed a new 40" ROKU Smart TV for the living room.
"Dangerous Pathway" - I have provided photos of the pathway, it is a nature walk and mostly on Army Corp of Engineer owned "public" property where no modifications can made including grass or tree cutting. We just had the floating dock wood repaired and painted a few weeks prior to this stay.
The property was nice. The decks were great to be outside on. The property manger was very accommodating regarding a little (1 hour) later check out. There didn't seem to be any way to get down to the lake without trespassing on another property and there were no instructions in the house as to how to do that. It was an easy place to stay while competing in the Tall Pines Triathlon at Clarks Hill Park.
The rental of the lake house went very smoothly and all questions were answered in a timely manner. The description of the property is very accurate. We arrived after the sun went down and would have been nice to have a porch light left on to help us see in the dark. Once inside, the home was spacious and inviting. The kitchen was fully stocked with cooking and serving utensils! The small concerns we did have were quickly addressed by the owners and that in itself is a huge plus!! The beds were comfortable and hot water was plentiful in the showers. The dock was a HUGE added bonus as we just left out boat in the slip when not in use. The boat launch wasn't very far away either! The only downside to this property is the access trail to get to the dock on the lake. My father-in-law had to stop a few times to catch his breath as it is a little bit of a hike. The trail is not terrible as my father-in-law made the small hike 3 out of the 4 days we were there. Just something to keep in mind if you will have elderly people with you going on the boat. It is also a good idea to make your shopping list and hit the store once as this lake house is a good distance away from any grocery store. It is quite and peaceful. Highly recommend this property for peace and quiet as well as for fishing / boating! We will rent again in the future!
We had a great stay at White Oak. Everything we wanted to do or check out for the next visit was nearby. We love the area! Absolutely beautiful! The fish weren't biting for us this time but we are looking forward to trying it out again :)
