The Cottage in Grovetown - 4 Bedroom Southern Retreat
Welcome to our southern, cottage-style home—beautifully decorated with a tasteful mix of new, vintage and antique furnishings/artwork. Located very near nice walking trails in a lovely, quiet neighborhood just minutes from grocery stores, dining and I-20 (with easy access to Fort Gordon, Downtown Augusta and the National Golf Course). The perfect southern retreat for the Masters or whatever brings you to the Garden City area!
The front door opens into an entryway with a built-in hall tree where you can slip off your shoes and/or jacket and make yourself at home. The open-concept living space has high ceilings, rustic details, large antique artwork and plenty of seating around a decorative fireplace with herringbone tile and built-in benches. The set of drawers under antique mirror is filled with fun board games and challenging puzzles.
The spacious kitchen/dining area have room for 6 at an extra-large, granite island and 4 more at a round, antique table surrounded by wainscoting, sunshine-filled windows and an old crystal chandelier. There is also a laundry room off of the dining area with a full-sized washer and dryer (stocked with detergent). A small, comfortably furnished, back patio (off of the kitchen) steps down to a larger area with decorative stone pavers. The area leads to a pergola with two hanging hammock chairs, a swing and nostalgic string lighting that flickers on as the sun sets. There is a wood fire pit (wood can typically be purchased at the nearby grocery store), and there is also a swing set for children, a small grassy area and a few winding flower beds.
Back in the house, you can visit with friends or unwind in front of a beautifully framed HD TV (there are no TVs in the bedrooms).
The one-story home has four thoughtfully decorated bedrooms and two full baths. The primary suite features a bead-board ceiling, a walk-in closet, a comfortable king-sized bed (with a down comforter and down pillows) and a bathroom with a leathered, granite-topped, double-sink vanity, a large soaking tub, a shower and plenty of bath towels. Second full bath has a handheld shower head, a handicapped bar and a small shower bench.
The cottage-style home is located on a quiet street in a nice neighborhood. There is a large backyard and parking for 2 to possibly 3 cars in driveway depending on the size of the vehicle—street parking is unfortunately not permitted and parking along street overnight will result in fines and possible towing at owner's expense. Additionally, neighborhood doesn’t allow boats or trailers to be parked on street or in driveway. Neighborhood playground is walking distance and great, nature trails are a quick walk down the street in either direction.
For your convenience, there is a pack n' play and an infant carseat (in one of the bedroom closets), a booster chair with tray (in kitchen island), and a few toys/books for families traveling with young kids.
We want you to have a comfortable, worry-free stay, so we provide:
High-speed Internet (master bed/bath are a little slow) Parking (in driveway only, parking on street overnight is not permitted) Washer and Dryer (with detergent) Iron and Ironing Mat (mat can be placed directly on kitchen island) Pots/pans, utensils, dishes, silverware Coffee Maker Typical small appliances (toaster, microwave, etc.) Salt, pepper, cooking oil Selection of Board Games / Puzzles All typical household Amenities Porch and outdoor seating Pack n' play Infant carseat Booster chair w/ tray A few toys / books for children

We love this place. All the comforts of home without our 2 Great Danes! The owner is readily available if needed! The backyard is great for early morning coffee time and FABULOUS for a sunset!
This place is delightful. The owner was more than gracious in accommodating us and I will be forever grateful. If you are young or ild, this place is wonderful. Plenty of things for the little ones, and well stocked kitchen for dining in. 5 stars!
We had a wonderful stay. The home was absolutely gorgeous, super clean, in a lovely neighborhood, and very kid friendly. They had nightlights, books for kids, a pack n play, a high chair/booster seat, toddler utensils, and even an extra car seat. The kitchen was well equipped, and the kids had lots of fun in the yard with the swings. The host was very sweet and helpful as well. We would definitely stay here again!
Very nice house with many new upgrades. Hostess was very responsive. Plenty of space for our family to have an enjoyable stay. Plenty of beds for everyone; just were hoping for better mattresses. Please provide more paper products and trash bags provided next time for a family of eight. This happens at many vrbos we stay in. Overall, the home was very nice, met our needs, and was a great location. Thank you.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful review. We’re really glad to hear the home met your needs, that you enjoyed the space, and that the location worked well for your family. It means a lot to know you had an enjoyable stay.
We also truly appreciate the constructive feedback. Comfort is important to us, and we’ll definitely take a closer look at the mattresses to see where improvements can be made. Thank you as well for the note about paper products and trash bags — that’s helpful insight, especially for larger groups. We provide a starter supply, but we’ll revisit our quantities to see how we can better accommodate bigger families.
Thank you again for staying with us and for taking the time to share your experience. We’d be happy to host you again anytime!
Our group had a wonderful time and felt very much at home in this house. The location to the Masters golf was fabulous and our travel in was painless. The homeowner was very helpful regarding any of our needs. I would recommend staying her if you are headed to the Augusta area.
This home was exactly as described and as beautiful as it is shown in the pictures!! The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful, just what we needed. We will definitely be back to visit again and when we do, we will be staying here again. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your gorgeous home! We truly enjoyed it!!
Staying at Sarah’s cottage is always a delight! It truly feels like a home-away-from-home; which is has been for me many times! The house is consistently clean, cozy, and incredibly peaceful. Sarah is a wonderful host, always making sure all is well. If you're looking for a charming and relaxing getaway, you will be beyond pleased with this cottage. Highly recommended!
Everything was amazing! Great location and so comfortable and perfect for our trip! Sara was so responsive with any and all questions. It made our trip so memorable! Thanks again! JUST AMAZING!
A lovely cottage-style home. Very tastefully decorated, nice back yard. The host was very responsive. Overall very enjoable!
On the potential improvements -a better equipped kitchen (appliances, cookware, and dishware), a larger hot water tank, a jacuzzi tub, and an outdoor grill could make your stay more enjoyable.

Thanks for your feedback! We will look into the All-Clad pan set you suggested. We have a full set of china dishware and a full set of plastic dishware (so parents have an option for kids, etc.)—if you have a preference for something else, just let me know! Unfortunately it won’t be possible to swap out our new electric stove for a gas stove, since we don’t have gas hookups. Similarly, switching out the tub in the primary bathroom for a jacuzzi is unfortunately not possible (jets are also difficult to fully sanitize—we are swapping out a jacuzzi tub in our other home for that reason). As far as I know, one, full-sized water heater is more than sufficient for a one-story, 2-bath house—we haven’t received any feedback or experienced any problems with it ourselves, but I’ll make note of it.
This spacious and newly remodeled home is so comfortable and is thoughtfully stocked with the essentials. The backyard is an oasis with a covered porch swing area, thick green grass and a porch with furniture that you can watch the sunset from. Our hostess was very helpful and available for my questions. We’ll revisit this rental next time we are in town.
