Our family summer home; a luxurious, modern villa with private swimming pool, outside play areas and beautiful gardens in this quiet, exclusive residential area of San Gines, in the village of La'Azohia, Murcia; an authentic, picturesque fishing village unspoiled by mass tourism and modernisation.

Just 5 mins walk to all amenities and safe, sandy Blue Flag beaches. Free unlimited fibre WIFI throughout and International TV , including Sky/BT and 100's of other channels in all languages including English, Spanish, French, Dutch etc.

Accommodation is spread over 2 storeys, with access to terraces with the top terrace being huge with Pergola, Integrated BBQ and Seated Dining table with stunning, panoramic views across the whole of the Eastern Gulf of Mazarron; taking in the bays of Puerto de Mazarron, Isla Plana and Cabo Tinso and with the spectacular backdrop behind of the Sierra Espuña foothills.

There are 3 Double Bedrooms one of which has its own outside door entrance, all with built-in wardrobes. 2 bathrooms, the Master has a King size bed with en-suite with his/her basins. Open plan Dining and Living room with large Wood Burner to keep cosy in the cooler nights if letting during winter months.

Large, extended modern Kitchen with top of the range Siemens fitted appliances; Electric Oven/Grill/Cooker/ Dishwasher Microwave/Wine Fridge/American Fridge Freezer/Washing Machine/Dryer.

Extremely well appointed throughout with A/C's in every bedroom, Ceiling Fans, Electric Shutters, fibre Wi-Fi, Flat Screen 65" Smart TV with full international channels.

Back patio terrace with awnings for added shade, outside high end Rattan furniture, Dining Table & Chairs. Outside shower next to full size, retiled Pool with safe steps into. 4 wooden teak sun loungers with cushions. Beech towels and equipment provided.

Be aware that the region of Carthagena is very windy (60 km/hour winds) and temperatures are 10 to 15 degrees in february and the biginning of march. Beautiful region ! Beautiful house, fireplace to warm the house (sooo nice! Like being in a chalet). Master bedroom very nice. Confortable bed & twin too. The divan bed less. New kitchen very spacious, well equiped and we liked the view of the patio. Pool in summer must be very nice! Terrasse on the roof with a 360 view, sea included. Parking in front of the house makes it easy. Quiet surounding. Nice beaches. Few groceries nearby. The host answered fast to questions & was very kind. We even had a gift on our arrival. Thanks Andrew!

Very relaxing and enjoyable week

My husband and I stayed for a week and it was very relaxing and enjoyable. The villa had everything we needed and the pool was especially welcoming. As we didn't want to hire a car, the beach and nearest restaurants were a short 10 minute walk away. It was very nice to have a meal overlooking the sea and the sunset was lovely.

Nice house with pool close to the beach

We had a lovely stay i La Azoiha for 1 week. House with 3 bedrooms, we were 6 adults. Beds are a bit hard, but rooms are nice. Big kitchen with both refrigerator and extra winecooler, which was really nice. Really great pool, larger than we expected from the pictures, and a wonderful garden and patio. Only a few minutes walk to the best part of the beach, with beachbar and a few sunbeds and umbrellas.

The Smith Family Vacation

We spent two weeks at the villa with our daughter and three grandchildren. The pool was amazing and location being so near to the beach and local restaurants made it an even better stay. Any problems were quickly dealt with and apart from the fact we couldn’t get the TV to work (which was a blessing in disguise) we had a brilliant stay. Would definitely be happy to return to the villa.

Perfect Choice

We spent a quiet and peaceful time at this lovely villa in early May and agree with the previous reviews. It is well equipped and in a good location and friends who live in nearby Puerto de Mazzarron were impressed with our choice. Andrew and Marina were readily contactable and very quick to resolve the slight internet issue we encountered at the start of our break, as too Fernando the very helpful and nearby neighbour. We would certainly recommend to others and consider renting again.

A home in the sun!

We loved the villa in La Azohia. It is a family home so it felt like we just had moved into a home for us. It has everything that you need, the pool is amazing and the location is 4 minutes 17 seconds walking to a gorgeous sandy beach! All the booking process and communication was clear since we booked the place (a year in advance) and Andrew welcomed us on the day showing us his beautiful home. We had lovely bbqs in the terrace where the view of the coast and the mountains is amazing. We enjoyed our 2 weeks in the sun. Location was perfect to travel to La Manga, Murcia and Águilas. So plenty of towns and cities to explore. We are definitely going back!

Lovely La'Azoiha!

We had a wonderful holiday in this beautiful villa in the lovely La'Azoiha! Andrew provided comprehensive information, left us a much-appreciated welcome pack and couldn't have been more helpful! The villa was clean, comfortable and well-equipped with a lovely pool and a gorgeous roof-terrace offering stunning views (we especially loved the sunsets). The garden and pool area were perfect for sunbathing and the shaded rear terrace was ideal for al fresco eating and relaxing with a drink and a book. We hired a car and drove from Murcia airport (approx 45 minutes) and enjoyed exploring Cartagena, Puerto de Mazarron and Isla Plana. The villa is perfectly situated in a quiet road in this lovely unspoilt village, which is predominantly enjoyed by Spanish families, and is within easy walking distance of the beach, restaurants and local amenities. It is the perfect base for a relaxing holiday, which we would not hesitate to recommend, and we would love to return! Muchas gracias por todo Andrew and Marina!

Excellent Villa

We stayed at the villa over the Easter Break and although the weather was rubbish, the villa more than made up for the disappointment. The villa is like being in someone's home rather than a rental villa; the facilities that have been provided by the owners are excellent. There is enough room in the villa for families to have their own space and the number of bathrooms make it an easy villa to share with others. The space outside is just as catered for as the inside - the loungers are really comfy. The villa is 5 minutes from the beach and there are a number of restaurants along the coast road that should satisfy everyone's needs. We had some amazing seafood - probably the best garlic prawns we have ever eaten. There are bigger supermarkets in Mazarron which is about fifteen minutes away in the car but there is also a Spar on the sea front which is well stocked. This is a really lovely villa if you want to get away from it all in a quaint resort that caters wells for families. We would highly recommend it.

Lovely villa in a fantastic location

This villa is in a quiet secluded spot yet only a 3 minute stroll to a lovely beach plus a couple of beach bars and a good restaurant. The "strip" at La Azohia is a km or so out of the village itself, which really is the mythical unspoilt Spanish fishing village. There are enough restaurants to give it some life but otherwise quiet and laid back. Super safe swimming with lifeguards and soft sand under your feet. The sunsets are fantastic, especially from the villa's roof terrace. Easy driving on quiet roads to Isla Plana (another quiet pretty spot) and Puerto de Mazarron which is a vibrant seaside town. The area and resort were a real find after coming to other parts of Spain for many years. The villa is well proportioned, even the 3rd bedroom is a decent size, and well equipped with a lovely pool, decent wifi and home comforts (big fridge, big telly etc). This is so close to a 5star review and the place was only let down for us by some sub-par linens and sunloungers, which to the owners' credit they have promised to address. The owners have been helpful and communicative throughout. Note to Arsenal fans: the pool has Spurs' emblem tiled into the bottom!

Lovely Holiday

We had a lovely time staying at this villa in La Azohia. Communication with Andrew, the owner was quick and efficient. There was a problem with the WiFi due to a recent storm and this was fixed the next day. The villa had everything we needed: towels, duvets (there was one cold night), kitchen implements, crockery etc.... Sky Glass TV appeared to have every show and film we could ever want which was useful in a rainy day. The pool was fantastic; big enough for a few inflatables, small enough for the children to get to the sides without difficulty. The water was clean and clear The resort was quiet with only a handful of restaurants. We stayed in early June and these were mainly closed at the beginning of the week. There were 2 shops within 15 minutes walk, although the Spar shop didn't appear to open after 2pm. There was a bus to Cartegena and Puerto De Mazzoran, however this was infrequent and didn't always arrive. We had no difficulty with taxis. The beach was amazing! It is the best beach we have been to in Europe. It is mostly sandy with some pebbles but plenty of places to walk into the sea without stones. The water was warm and we could walk quite a way out. The view was beautiful and during the week there was hardly anyone else there. There were 2 beach bars seeing drinks, some food and ice creams. There was little English spoken in the resort, but the people were very friendly and welcoming. It was only a 5 minute walk tigthe beach and beach bars.

Nice villa, but beware!

We enjoyed our two week stay at this villa during July. However, on our return, the owner refused to return part of our security deposit because he had received a large water bill for the 2 month period (May - July). The booking T&Cs do not state anything about paying utility bills and, bearing in mind we had only stayed 2 weeks NOT 2 months, we asked the owner to supply evidence proving we had used excessive water during our stay (which we knew we definitely hadn't). To date the owner hasn't provided this evidence and has been quite rude with some of his replies to us. He will not return the remainder of our security deposit and is no longer replying to our messages. The property may have a water leak or his gardeners, cleaners, property manager may be to blame but the owner is blaming paying guests!! HomeAway do not mediate disputes and will not get involved apart from documenting the complaint. Over the last 15 years we have rented numerous villas and have never come across such a disrespectful owner; there is no way you should treat paying customers like this. Therefore, I do not recommend you rent this villa.

Fantastic

Just returned from this fantastic villa, we were there for two weeks in July, a family with a teenager and a ten year old. The villa was fantastic, plenty of space and equipped to an astonishing standard, with everything you could wish for, including some wee beach chairs with wheels. The pool was much bigger than we had anticipated and the outside eating area was a really good size. There's also a large roof top eating area with a good sized BBQ. The villa is set in a lovely wee garden, has a full size pool table and a small astro turf area where my son was busy playing football. The bedrooms all have air-conditioning as does the main living area but we didn't feel the need to use it, the ceiling fans worked really well. The beach really is only a short walk (tip, there's a couple of short cuts down short passages ways). The beach really is lovely and there are life guards on duty so it's really safe.The sea is fairly shallow to about 30m so is really family friendly. The beach does get very busy from 17:00 and moreso at weekends. There are a nice selection of bars and restaurants but it's not a lively place, it's a fantastic place for families looking for a relaxing stay. The next village along has a slightly bigger super market and a dive along the coast (10 minutes) brings you to a bigger resort which has a couple of large inflatable obstacle courses just off the beach. There were plenty of things on within the resort, plenty to keep everyone happy during our stay. I'd definitely recommend this villa and the resort. The owners are very easy to communicate with and get back to you asap to answer any queries. A small van appears every day selling bread and announced itself with a horn to let you know it's there, it's often at a different time every day. All in all its a great villa, in a great location. I would encourage anyone going to attempt a wee bit of Spanish, the locals are really welcoming.

Wonderful base whether you want to be lazy or active

My husband and I spent four (way-too-short) days at this beautiful villa. It is in immaculate condition and the owner’s parents, who had been holidaying there before us, kindly left us a welcome pack – although this was hardly necessary as the villa is stocked with absolutely everything. Andrew provided extensive instructions for everything both before arrival and in the villa itself which was very helpful. The villa has a lovely, airy, modern feel to it and contains many personal touches. The kitchen is equipped with everything and the two bathrooms (one with double vanities) are spacious. Being only two people we chose the master bedroom to sleep in which has great air-conditioning (although it being September, we only needed to run it for about half an hour before going to bed, leaving doors and windows open created a great airflow in the villa that made air-conditioning largely unnecessary). The views from the rooftop terrace are truly stunning and the pool/garden area is lovely and peaceful and equipped with numerous sun loungers, deck chairs, umbrellas etc. Some of these can also be taken to the beach (a mere 10-minute stroll away). A leakage issue with the pool was resolved within an hour of our contacting Andrew. The drive down the hill to L’Azohia is absolutely stunning. The town was wonderfully sleepy when we stayed (mid/late September) and it was easy to get a table at the numerous excellent restaurants down by the beach; the beach which we only shared with a handful of families was clean and the water was warm and clear. From chatting to local people we learned that July/August are much busier when many Spanish families arrive to stay at their second homes in the town. In any case, it is a great base for exploring other beaches along the coast or do some serious sightseeing in Cartagena or Murcia. There is a small Spar in L’Azohia, a bigger supermarket in the next town and numerous large stores in Puerto de Mazarron and Cartagena. So whether you are planning a lazy or an active break, Andrew’s villa is a fantastic base and we would thoroughly recommend it.

BEWARE. Villa misdescribed. We left after less than 24 hours.

To explain, when looking to rent, I was exclusively looking for 3 bed villas with 2 large double beds (my son in law is 6ft 4ins so a large bed is a must) with a 3rd bedroom for their baby. The heading “5* Luxury Villa” captured my interest so when I read that bed 1 had a king bed, bed 2 had a sofa bed/futon child bed & bed 3 was a Queen, this was perfect for my family. On arrival it was clear that it had been misdescribed Bedroom 3 was NOT a queen bed, it was a very uncomfortable sofa bed in the old kitchen/utility room. VRBO ad says the accommodation is over 3 floors, it doesn’t say the whole of one floor is out of bounds so the useable area is not as large as photos depict or sq.ft stated 3. The wifi security cameras inside villa were intrusive for my family and we felt uncomfortable. The owner said he had turned them off (meaning he could also turn them on). 1 was inside the villa in the kitchen & 2 outside the rear porch facing into villa. We covered them with socks to protect our privacy. He texted us asking us to reinstate them?! Family villa? This does not describe you will be sharing /living amongst owners’ possessions both inside & outside the property. Wardrobes were full of stuff eg broken TV in master bed, clutter & utility machines in bed 3. The 5* luxury villa description is laughable when you see the grout in the bathrooms, broken shower fitting in master bath, clunking ceiling fan, poor quality towels/linen, old & thin sunbed cushions. Duvet in master bed was a single inside a queen duvet cover, spare duvet in wardrobe had repulsive stains on it. Upon sending photos of our problems to owner, we were asked to stop sending upsetting photos & he would not speak to us over phone to resolve Property photos were clearly taken when the owner started to rent this villa & need to be updated or villa given some TLC returning it to the same condition as the photos depict On reflection, upon receiving the 39 house rules, 12 page inventory & water meter chart, alarm bells should have rung that this was not a true holiday home. I felt it would not spoil the holiday but, coupled with the blatant misdescription & the owners unwillingness to remedy the bed situation, our only option was to hurriedly search for another villa leaving less than 24 hours after arriving. As they constantly refer to it as their family home, I suggest they stop renting it to fee paying customers who reasonably expect to find it as described

Wir haben in diesem wunderschön gelegenen Haus einen traumhaften Urlaub verbracht. Das Haus befindet sich in Hanglage in ruhiger Umgebung von La Azohia. Es ist großzügig - zu 2 Paaren hatten wir jede Menge Platz, zu jedem Schlafzimmer gehörte ein Bad, und ein Kinderzimmer extra gab es auch noch. Im Wohnzimmer hätten wir einen großen Fernseher und einiges an multimedialer Technik nutzen können - wir haben es nicht gebraucht und auch nicht ausprobiert, aber wer so was möchte, wird sich darüber freuen. Das Wlan hat sehr gut funktioniert. Die Küche bietet viel Infrastruktur inclusive einer riesigen Kühl-Gefrierkombination, Spülmaschine, Waschmaschine und Weinkühlschrank - was will man mehr? Wir wurden mit einem Essens-Begrüßungspaket und einigen Getränken überrascht, eine nette Geste. Geschirr war reichlich vorhanden, auch Handtücher, und die sanitären Anlagen funktionierten einwandfrei. Es gab eine Klimaanlage, die wir nicht gebraucht haben, weil die Ventilatoren ausreichten (bei 27 Außentemperatur). Das Raumklima war angenehm. Die Außenanlagen mit dem großen Pool (mit Tottenham-Fußball-Logo) haben wir sehr genossen, vor allem die Dachterrasse mit Blick auf das Meer und die umgebenden Berge. Andrew hat uns im Vorfeld einiges an Informationen zukommen lassen, die „technische“ Abwicklung war problemlos, das Auschecken angenehm einfach. Wir haben die zwei Wochen genossen und bedanken uns bei Andrew und Marina.

Nous avons beaucoup apprécié notre séjour chez Andrew et Marina, la maison est spacieuse et rien ne manque, la vue du toit magnifique et la terrasse très agréable. De plus, le village de la Azohia est un très bon choix pour séjourner sur la côte sud espagnole, les paysages sont superbes et il y a de belles balades à faire le long de la mer et du côté de la torre de Santa Elena.

El anuncio lo pone bonito pero aún es más la estancia. Hemos estado súper tranquilos y Andrew siempre ha estado pendiente. A la casa no le falta de nada. Muy cerca de la playa, súper a 10 min…. Nos ha encantado.

Completely non spoilt part of the real Spain and as you drive through this green, palm lined ,fishing village to the long sea front you know this place is special! Beautiful beaches and pristine sea waters with just the right amount of restaurants and bars in Summer. Paradise. The villa itself is modern, superbly equipped and has its own Private Swimming Salt cleaned Pool.
