This apartment was great for our group of 6. There was plenty of sleeping space and places to sit and visit. The location was perfect and was within easy walking distance of everything we wanted to see and do. The road was very tight for our van driver and he had a difficult time getting through but managed with a little bit of assistance so be aware if you are driving. Otherwise, 10/10 would recommend!
We really enjoyed our stay here! The location was excellent—an easy walk to the Acropolis, local shops, and many other Athens highlights. The apartment has a lot of charm, with beautiful antiques that make it feel unique and full of character. The host was very responsive and quick to help when we had a small issue, which we really appreciated.A few small suggestions that would make future stays even better: the mattresses, particularly in the smaller room, could be more comfortable; extra pillows and blankets would be a nice touch; and the smaller room had an unpleasant odor that was difficult to eliminate. Labeling the keys would also be really helpful for guests.
This apartmenr in the most walkable part of Athens- close to all major museums and great food
We traveled with our adult children and loved how the apartment gave us a taste of vintage Athens. We liked experiencing of how a family actually lived, and enjoyed their family art collection, antiques and heirlooms. Enjoy a cup of coffee on the deck or a peeka perk at the Parthenon lot up,
Such a unique apartment. We felt like we stepped back in time into a museum. Each room has its own character. The balcony was used every morning and night to enjoy the weather. Each bedroom having its own AC/fan is very nice. We would stay again. It’s walking distance to many shops and restaurants and to the key ancient parts of Athens.
We loved the authenticity and location of this apartment. We would highly recommend it to anyone looking for more character in their accommodations for Athens.
The apartment was perfect for our group. Very centrally located to everything we wanted to do. It was also very spacious with plenty of room to feel ‘at home’ for a few days. The host was great, they communicated all information timely. We had a great stay, thanks!
The view from the kitchen was amazing! The rooms had a very cool vibe and AC in the bedrooms was helpful, especially with the heat wave. Short walk to everything in the Plaka district made it a most enjoyable experience.
This was such a fun place to stay. The artwork, the antique furniture, the library, the view of the Acropolis. Location is convenient and felt safe. It was a little loud at times in the evening as there is a restaurant below, but otherwise was great. We were kept up one night by I think the shutters banging around in the wind so make sure they are secure.
The house was exactly as described, very close to the center of everything. Hosts were super responsive for the little issues that popped up, like how to open the front door when it expanded due to the heat. Definitely recommend!
What an interesting apartment filled with art and curiosities. Thankfully there were a/c units in the bedrooms as Athens was scorching! Perfect walking distance to the bustle of Plaka!
Our family loved the apartment. It was clean, fit us comfortably and very charming. It is located in Plaka and with teens it was great location as we could walk everywhere and it was safe so they could go on their own. The manager of the apartment greeted us and showed us around the apartment. We also got a great list of recommendations for places to eat.
What a great place! You are in thebheart of the Plaka neighborhood and withing walking distance to all major tourist stops as well as very close to shopping and restaurants. The loaction itself is on a quiet street and has a great view of the Acropolis from the back kitchen.
The apartment is fairly dated, but has a a lot of charm. The only real downside was that the bathroom didnt have a shower.
The apartment is spacious and very well decorated. Every turn there was something beautiful to see. The beds were comfortable and the AC was a big hit as it was hot in Greece. The light fixtures and the art work were amazing! It really felt like a well curated home and I would definitely stay there again. It is in a convenient location to explore Athens. The team that helped us before our stay and during it were always available and helpful!

A magical base for exploring Athens
This stunning apartment is just as beautiful as the photos--it's like stepping into a time capsule! We didn't mind the hot Athens afternoons because retreating to this quiet apartment was such a delight. While it's just a few blocks away from the Plaka and a short walk to the Acropolis, it's on a quiet residential street. There are many delicate things on display, but it was fine with our older kids (5 and 9, though it might be more stressful with young toddlers) and in fact they loved going around the house and looking at the incredible paintings, prints, and objects d'arts.
It really felt like a privilege to stay here. Thank you!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! The apartment was clean, spacious and comfortable. As we were traveling with luggage, the fact that there was an elevator directly into the apartment was a great bonus as there are quite a few steps up to the second floor.
The view out the back of the Acropolis is spectacular!
Communication and accommodation from the owners was splendid and helpful.
Two notes for folks who have a rental car: the streets in the immediate area of the apartment are VERY narrow and not for the faint of heart! Also, parking on the street is not allowed, but there is a parking lot (about $25/day) just around the corner and actually visible from the kitchen.
We highly recommend this property, especially to those looking for short walk to dozens of great eateries.

About the host

JJ Hospitality has a unique portfolio of hand-picked properties, from trendy apartments to historic buildings, in some of the best locations in central Athens and the islands. We also offer tailor-made excursions for visitors that wish to experience all that Greece has to offer.
Why they chose this property
This apartment is on the second floor of a 3 storey building constructed in the 1920s. It comprises 2 living rooms and a dining room at the front of the building, and 3 bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom and WC facing the rear of the building. Everything about this place is original - it has remained in the same family sinc it was built nearly 100 years ago. You get a real taste of old-fashioned Athenian life, complete with balconies, high ceilings and lots of natural light.
What makes this property unique
You are located in perhaps the best spot in the city - no seriously! It is nestled in the old, timeless quarter of Plaka, a few paces from the Acropolis Museum and the grand Dionysiou Areopagitou promenade which leads past the (still functioning) ancient theatre of Herodion Atticus, up to the Acropolis itself. A few minutes walk to the east are the splendid Temple of Zeus and Hadrians Arch, with the beautiful Olympic Stadium in the near distance. There are also some great shopping, eating and entertainment opportunities in the neighborhood, from ultra exclusive to no-frills, you will find what you are looking for!
