PIONEER MEADOW: The cabins at Pioneer Meadow are antique log cabins made of poplar, oak, and chestnut logs purchased throughout the south and restored to their original beauty. The logs were numbered, transported to our property and reassembled.

HISTORY: The original Robinette (named for it's founding family) was built in Blackwater, Virginia, circa 1800. It was last sold in 1900 for $1 to a couple who promised to take care of the owners of the property until they died. They raised 6 children in this loft cabin. We added an old smokehouse to the bottom floor to serve as a master bedroom.

LOCATION:
5 miles from Pigeon Forge, Tn off Wears Valley Road. Off the beaten path, this gravel road will take you up the mountain (don't worry, the steepest part is paved) to a beautiful meadow. Convenient to the tourist attractions of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, a short drive to Smoky Mountain National Park but secluded enough that you can here a car driving in from a mile away.

PAYMENT:
All payments are due in full at time of booking. Payments are made through VRBO's Homeaway Payments. Homeaway automatically puts a hold on those funds. If we are forced to decline your reservation for any reason, the hold on your funds will take 5 to 7 business days to release. This is VRBO's Homeaway Payments policy. We have no control over this and do not even see your credit card information.

Very remote and peaceful although only 15 minutes from the Parkway in Pigeon Forge

Very remote off the main highway, with a very pleasant location. Cabin was roomy and comfortable. Although no wifi available, Verizon phone and internet had a strong signal. Direct TV satellite was provided. Definitely recommended!

Not ideal

The cabin was not clean. It had dead bugs around the base boards, cigarette ashes on one of the blankets, clothes from a past guest left in the loft, a sticky floor in bathroom, and an excessive amount of mouse droppings on the mantle. The drive to the cabin off the main road was nerve wrecking the first day, The road was damp so there wasn't much traction with the 13° grade to climb. Once off the paved section and on the gravel it has alot of ruts, will almost beat you to death at 4mph. What is left out of the listing, which should be included, is there is no wifi, no phone line, and if you have att cell servive you wont have signal.

Coolest place ever!!

This was the coolest cabin. Not the fanciest place I’ve ever stayed at, but definitely the coolest. Very clean.

Wonderful and Peaceful Setting

Absolutely stunning setting! Only 4 cabins on 20 acres and secluded. The owner is so sweet! The cabin was super clean and neat. The driveway is extremely frightening! I would suggest an SUV or truck.

Relaxing and nice getaway!

We had a great time. The property was so nice! The driveway was difficult and the pond was pretty mucky, but we loved the cabin!!

Very Relaxing Weekend

Such a wonderful and peaceful long weekend! After getting used to the drive up and down to the cabin, the place was like a piece of Heaven. The weather was a bit cool but it didn't stop us from sitting on the porch and enjoying the quiet and being able to reflect. Our dog enjoyed roaming the area and we didn't have to worry about him. The cabin, itself, was clean and inviting. At night we lit a fire, had wine and read. Slowing down from the real world is what we needed! We hiked, went to the antique shops and just drove to take in the sites. This was the 3rd time we visited Tennessee staying at other places but we would definitely consider coming back to Pioneer Meadow!

New Years Vacation

Our adult family of five rang in the new year in the mountains this year. This property was very spacious, cozy and clean. We were also able to bring along our dog which stayed kenneled during the day. You’re only 4.5 miles from Pigeon Forge but you feel as though you are miles away in this meadow. We had no problems with the roads making it up to the cabin although I recommend a utility vehicle. Everything was provided that we needed. Bring paper towels! The only con was it was a little noisy at times during the night. Squirrels running around in the attic but this would definitely not keep me from returning. We will be back again!

Peaceful

It was a nice get away and close to sites and restaurants. Road up 1 st time was a bit scary but no problem after that. Squirrel were very noisy at night. Kept us awake. But loved the porch’s and the history of the cabin.

Nice convenient location

The cabin was as described in being a rustic 200 year old cabin. Basic amenities with WP tub, dishwasher, outdoor grill, microwave, etc. Direct TV. No internet as noted but excellent ATT cell reception. The stairs to the loft are steep and abnormally high steps compared to modern stairs. The furniture was in good condition and the main bed was very comfortable. The TV is only about a 32in or 40 inch max so much smaller than most are accustomed to these days. There is a large meadow in front that is mowed and great for pet play. Nice porch with rockers. There are 3 other 200 year old cabins in a semi circle but you still have great privacy. The drive off the main road is not as scary as some make it. There are a lot of potholes on the first 3rd of the gravel road which leads to a paved steep road. After getting off the paved road you have a steep gravel decline to cabin. The gravel is new so loose and unpacked. The drive to the cabin is fine in good weather. However, in any winter conditions an AWD or 4WD is essential. It's only 5 miles to Pigeon Forge heart of parkway so super convenient. Also very convenient to Townsend in the opposite direction. It is a great remote area we'd stay again. Owner was friendly and responsive.
