Sweet getaway

The house was better than expected. The kitchen must be newly remodeled because the pictures online showed an older kitchen. Everything was clean and comfy. The air conditioning errored a couple of times so the house did get hot (especially upstairs). We loved the lake views from the deck. Close to everything we wanted to do.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Bear Feet has a great lake view! The house is listed as a town house, however it is a free standing house in a community. There was plenty of space for my family of 5 both indoors and out - there are 3 levels of decks with lovely lake views from each level. There are TONS of windows and lots of natural light inside. The lake is a quick walk down the steps to the community shared dock. For the most part, I was pleased with the house. However, the light-covered bedroom carpeting was dirty and stained and the kitchen cabinets were so sticky, they were hard to open. There is no pantry or open cabinet space to store ANY food products. The outdoor patio table chair cushions need to be replaced - they are covered in mold. One of the toilet seats is blistering and looks unsanitary. The lamp shades and ceiling fans are covered in dust. For $1000 for 3 nights, I expected the house to feel cleaner.

Reviewer Comments: This was the 5th or 6th year we've rented from Taylor Made and was our first disappointment. The place badly needs an update, but so many things were neglected and dirty, that the first impression was that it was just very shabby. The carpets were filthy; the LR sofa was also filthy; there were ants all over the house; a front step was unlevel and dangerous; there was clutter all over the house so that you couldn't unload your belongings, and so much more. We loved the layout of the house online and the reviews were all good. Our guess was that the photos were a decade old and the same with the reviews. While there, we looked at another house in the community and the comparison was striking. It was updated and spotlessly clean. It was with another realtor, and our plan is to rent that house next year. Your agency should contact the owner of Bear Feet and tell them to get to work. I'm surprised that anyone would write a positive review about the place. It was a dump!

Reviewer Comments: This was my 6th time renting a vacation home from Taylor-made Deep Creek Vacations, based on my past experience, I was expecting a clean house, but it turned out other way around. The property wasn't clean and or well maintained, It looked like the property didn't get cleaned in months, insects were every where in the bedrooms, bathrooms, the washing machine was leaking, my daughter called the maintenance guy, he said we are very busy tomorrow after 10AM some one will come, I noticed the drain hose was disconnected, so I put it back in and It was working fine. Went to office and told the young lady who was very professional and kind, said I am sorry, will send some one to wipe out the property, a couple came in did some cleaning and took some pictures. The hot tube area was very dirty and insects were moving around the hot tube.

We try to go to different places but always keep Deep Creek in mind as our go-to close place. So happy it worked out, especially since it was getting late into summer and being able to reserve part of the week. The location and place was perfect.

The television and DVD player in one bedroom was not "hooked-up", we moved it and connected to cable, etc. All but one DVD player worked. The power would not work with remote or manually and tried multiple outlets. The outdoor furniture in the deck was in disrepair and rotted. In a great location, easy short walk to the boat slip. Parking a little difficult with boat/trailer. Recommend you be ready to launch at state park fairly directly after arriving.

We had everything we needed and the location was central to everything we wanted to do! The only minor downside was the presence of some small ants in the bathroom and living room, but that wasn't too bad.
