About this property
Grandma’s Cabin, West Glacier riverfront kid/pet friendly, 1 mile from Glacier!
This one-in-a-million location has now become available for rental. Homesteaded in 1914, this peaceful rustic log home sits on the Middle Fork of the Flathead River. Gorgeous views of the west side of Glacier National Park, 30 seconds away, if you're a good swimmer! Just up river is Glacier View Golf Course. It is common to see wildlife pass through the property as they cross into Glacier National Park. This 1700sf log home provides cool temperatures in the summer, warm in the winter. Large picture windows surround the house to take in all the beauty. This location is so quiet, at night, you can hear the rocks being rolled down the river by the current. Secluded, but not remote- one mile from the Park entrance.
Guests have repeatedly said that photos do not do justice to the view. The majesty of the surrounding mountains puts into perspective just how small we truly are. It has also been said that getting in and out of the property is much easier than waiting in line to enter rentals within the park.
This is one of the few locations to rent in the winter. The surrounding mountains block out the wind, while delivering lots of snow. A great place to cozy up after a nice day cross country skiing.
While scheduling your vacation to Glacier National Park, be sure to check their website about reservations required to access Going ToThe Sun Road.

About the host
Hosted by Matt Cox
Matt and Sue Cox, grandson and his wife, of the original home owners, maintain this home for the enjoyment of others. Living directly across the road from this property, they are readily available for your needs. For recommendations of local activities, seasonal events, and history, just give a call.
Why they chose this property
This home was built on the original John B. Sloan Homestead, founded in 1914. Although many parts of the original 160 acres have been sold off, this is one of the remaining properties. Passed down through the family, now for the first time, it is available for you to stay on this one-of-a-kind property.
What makes this property unique
When you get settled in, whether sitting by the campfire or cooling your toes in the river while looking into the Park you realize THIS IS your destination!
