Charming Dog Friendly MidCoast Maine Coach House - Great WiFi, Clean & Cozy
We look forward to welcoming you to the Coach House on Dutch Neck, with warm, natural colors and woodwork that evoke feelings of a cabin in the woods. In fact, the Coach House is located right next to the Peter's Pond Preserve, part of the Midcoast Conservancy, with direct access to the hiking trails and a beautiful 12 acre pond. Dutch Neck Road has its own public boat launch as well as the Osborn Finch Wildlife Sanctuary. Whether you are seeking to unwind on vacation, or looking for an alternative remote work location, the Coach House is ready for your visit.
When you arrive, you will walk up the stairs into the spacious kitchen/living room. The open floor plan with windows all around and ceiling fans everywhere will ensure your comfort in the summer, while a gas stove will easily complement the baseboard heating in other seasons. Caribbean Heart Pine floors warm the kitchen, living room, bathroom and hallway, while cozy wall to wall carpeting will cushion your feet in the bedrooms. Each space has its own thermostat so everyone will be comfortable. For your peace of mind in the event of bad weather, we've installed an automatic generator so you will have water and power.
Down the hall you will find the two bedrooms, each with queen beds, ceiling fans, big windows and plenty of drawer/storage space. The bathroom has a beautifully stone tiled and glass enclosed shower, a large vanity, Kohler fixtures, and a full size LG washer and dryer. Towels and linens are provided.
When you don't feel like eating out, you will enjoy cooking in the large kitchen with plenty of granite counter space, full size range/oven, and microwave. The table has plenty of room to seat six people. The kitchen is equipped with all the dishes, utensils, glasses and mugs you will need, along with basic cooking necessities, and a Keurig coffee maker will make your mornings easier.
Just outside your door you will find a lovely patio with a Weber gas grill, table and chairs for 4 for your outdoor dining pleasure, and a cozy gliding love seat so you can fully enjoy the peace and quiet on Dutch Neck.
Waldoboro features some local favorites such as the Odd Alewives Brewery, Borealis Bakery, and Moody's Diner. Within 20-40 minutes you can find wonderful lobster wharfs, and the quintessential small Maine coastal towns, Damariscotta, Rockland, Rockport, Boothbay Harbor and Camden.
We also have put together a binder of information for you on the local area - all the inside info on things to do and places to eat. And of course we are available to answer any questions that will help to make your Midcoast Maine vacation the most fun and memorable!

About the host
Hosted by Keith and Karen Langendorfer
Keith and Karen found their home in Waldoboro in 2012, a beautiful 1810 Cape on 30 acres of land on the beautiful Medomak River. Keith is originally from Long Island, while Karen grew up in New Jersey. A frequent vacation destination for us, Maine was a natural place to move so that we could enjoy the beauty we fell in love with, year round.
Why they chose this property
Mid-Coast Maine has a wonderful mix of restaurants, shopping, culture and natural beauty. Our property has that natural beauty in abundance, with views down a gently sloping hill to the Medomak River, open fields, and beautiful woods.
What makes this property unique
We built the Coach House in 2015 on the foundation of an old barn, across the street from our house. It provides a cozy comfortable place where guests can stay - a wonderful "home base" for exploring the beauty and uniqueness of Mid-Coast Maine.
