Come visit our secluded beachside A-frame, nestled in the deep water cove on the north end of Filucy Bay!

Situated at the water's edge of a 2.79 acre property, our beautiful 2 bedroom home offers comfortable furnishings, plenty of outdoor entertaining space, and easy access to the shops, restaurants and activities of Gig Harbor. Nicely updated and improved, the house is cozy, yet bright and open, boasting views from every room.

Stella Maris offers that elusive opportunity to slow life down and relax. Breathe in the fresh Puget Sound air. Close your eyes and listen to the waves lapping and rippling over pebbles and clams. Open them again and watch the spiraling flight of seagulls hunting for breakfast, the playful antics of sea otters or perhaps, if you're lucky, even a bald eagle. Read that book you keep meaning to pick up, or choose one of ours.

Perfect for families or romantic getaways, Stella Maris at once provides quiet seclusion and a gateway to local wineries, restaurants, family farms, state parks, golf, boating and more.

Tour an underwater submarine or try Anthony's Homeport famous clam chowder in Bremerton. Ride the iconic Puget Sound ferries to Seattle, visit the myriad museums of Tacoma, or take a hike in the Olympic National Rain Forest. Day-trip across the Narrows Bridge to watch our Triple-A baseball home team, the Rainiers, play an afternoon game at the beautifully renovated Cheney Stadium. Or, you can always just stay in and use our kayaks to explore Filucy Bay, hunt for sea creatures and take in the quiet nature.

At the end of the day, gather round the patio campfire for roasted s'mores or a glass of Trillium Creek wine and enjoy your perfect slice of the incomparable Pacific Northwest.

~ While we have a 2 night minimum stay we HIGHLY recommend booking for three nights or more if your travel plans allow. Stella Maris truly is a special place and frequently we have guests request to extend their stay. While we love accommodating when it is possible often we have back to back bookings and cannot offer more time.

~ Please note that we have an 8 person maximum. This is both because that is the number of people who can comfortably sleep at Stella Maris but also so that we can preserve the quiet nature of the area. We have included a $200/person/night additional charge option. This is for guests who REALLY want that extra guest but also as a penalty in the event an extra body accidentally ended up in the suitcase.

Paradise

This was our second time staying in this beautiful home. The location is hard to beat, its incredibly relaxing, rejuvenating and peaceful. We enjoyed our stay, and will definitely be back.

Great House and Location

This property is a gem! The view out to Filucy bay is fantastic. Beach access is easy. The house itself was very clean and will appointed. Everything you need to cook and enjoy. We can't wait to stay again!

Relaxing and Refreshing

Three weeks out of the summer Arizona heat was just what the doctor ordered. Great communication with host and the house was just as described. Beautiful setting among the trees and along the water. Quiet, isolated and a great place to unwind! The house has everything you need including a daily visit from Nellie, a very friendly Golden Retriever!

Another wonderful stay

The house feels very familiar as this is our second stay there. We love the space inside & outside. Kaitlyn was very graceful and responsive as before. Our family had a very nice stay. We took a different car this time, a rear-wheel drive, and it was slipping more on the gravel road on the way up from the house. Last time we had an AWD and had no problem.

Fantastic Stay at Stella Maris

We all had a great time at Stella Maris. The 180 degree view out the floor to ceiling windows overlooking Filucy Bay is incredible. The outdoor furniture was perfect when we were enjoying the fire pit and the eagles soaring overhead. When we weren't exploring the beautiful beaches at nearby parks, we were relaxing with Nelly, the sweet community dog. House is well appointed and kitchen has everything you need. Caitlin thought of everything and was incredibly responsive. This place is awesome. Highly recommend.

Great Holiday Getaway!!

My family and I stayed at Stella Maris for Thanksgiving and had a wonderful time. The house is beautiful and clean. We brought a lot of serving dishes and extra things we thought we might need for our Thanksgiving dinner, but their kitchen already had everything you could think of. There is a gorgeous view from almost every room in the house. Indoors we enjoyed the fireplace, games, and TV on the nice comfortable furniture. Outdoors we enjoyed the BBQ, fire pit, outdoor heater and kayaks. I would definitely go back to Stella Maris!!

Beautiful

I love this home and this was my second stay. Warm, inviting, comfortable yet state of the art appliances and utensils. The view is incredibly peaceful and serene. I love the neighbor dog who visits. Cable is easy to use. Market is 8 minutes away. I could just sit and look out the windows all day, or better yet, sit outside in coat and hat, listening to the silence.

Beautiful spot

House had the most well equipped kitchen I have ever seen in a rental. The small touches were nice such as lovely throw pillows, ample towels and lots of Kleenex in all rooms. View was lovely of the bay. Kayaks were fun to use. I highly recommend this property but two comments: one is my car is a low, 2 wheel drive and the driveway was a little challenging for my car to get up without a little wheel spinning and two is the steps down to the beach would have been difficult for small children or less agile adults. These are small things that we managed to work with but overall our stay was great.

Stella Mari – what a great get away!

Whether you are looking for a romantic getaway or a family trip, a staycation or a hub for exploration you will find it with this little gem. Only 30 (ish) minutes outside of Gig Harbor yet the peacefulness you find with this home makes you feel like you are a million miles from the hustle and bustle. This home is set up like none other we have stayed at. The owners Caitlin and Rachel have done a fabulous job of making this home clean and welcoming for all ages. There are dishes, games and toys for all ages clearly marked and easy to find. The kitchen has everything you could want and the patio.!.!.! This home is great in any weather, you can turn on the fire and snuggle in with a book, movies and games if it’s raining or hit the bay for some beach combing or kayaking if the weather is perfect. Definitely a place we will return to. Thank you to Caitlin and Rachel (and your families) for sharing such a lovely place and to the neighbor for sharing the most adorable miss Nelly who welcomed us with the sweetest tail wag and who visited daily.

Great weekend getaway!

Overall this spot was great! The location and views were amazing. So much to do on the property: kayaking, bird watching, fires, etc. and just a 30 minutes drive to Gig Harbor for a fun afternoon and dinner out. The house had all the things you’d need to feel comfortable and tons of outdoor seating, which is perfect to enjoy the waterfront. And if you love dogs there are a few sweet neighborhood dogs that might pop by for pets (a big hit with the kids). Just to add to the information about the loft main bedroom, it is open to the main living area, which is important to note - for anyone this means the bedroom is lit at all times while the sun is out. The hosts kindly provide eye masks which is so nice, but if you have younger children that go to bed earlier keep that in mind. Also in regards to sound. Doesn’t change how much we enjoyed the house but maybe this info will help the next person think of ways to prep (think black out tent like the SlumberPod). The second bedroom does have full blinds so that’s also an option for smaller families or groups. Thanks for a great trip and sharing this house!

This property is more amazing than it appears in the listing. The owners thought of everything, down to a stocked spice rack, a basket of S’mores fixings, well-stocked kitchen and bathrooms. The location is private, quiet, peaceful and beautiful. It is an open-concept floor plan, and we didn’t realize how open it really is: the gorgeous master bedroom is loft-style, completely open to the kitchen and living area below which is not a problem if both guests are on the same sleep/awake schedule, which unfortunately, we were not. My husband needed to wake around 4:30 a.m. to begin conference calls to work at 8 a.m. EST, and as soon as he started making coffee, I was awake. The stunning master bedroom is excellent for those who don’t need complete darkness (or who easily wear sleep masks - provided by the hosts) because the jaw-dropping view through the 2-story windows cannot be darkened as there are no shade or curtains. My husband can sleep anywhere, but I needed to move to the smaller, traditional bedroom where I could snuggle into the soft bed, darken the room and close the door for a perfect rest! This house has so many places to sleep family members, even if they are a bit in the open, which back in our younger days would have suited our family. It’s important to note that the house is at the end of a steep, gravel/dirt private drive, and if you’re renting a car, get one that maneuvers easily. We are 71 and 63 so please factor that into the review. It is a great place!

Beautiful and peaceful retreat

This cozy and beautiful house was exactly what our family needed for a week of rejuvenation. The big windows facing the water brought us a lot of sunshine and stunning sceneries. It was magical to wake up to this view in the master bedroom (but if you need blackout shades for the windows, you should take the smaller bedroom). We will go back.

Beach House

We really enjoyed our stay! The view was amazing, my husband and girls enjoyed kayaking and we loved the visits with the neighbor dogs. (Although it really made us miss our own pup) my parents don’t get around like they used too and this was such a memorable, enjoyable experience for them. They were able to watch the action (kids on kayaks) and enjoy the view without going down the stairs to the beach. It wasn’t far from home (45 minutes) and still felt like a vacation!

Gorgeous!

In the three days we were there we saw bald eagles, osprey fishing, blue herons walking by, and lots of seals! Fantastic! House has wonderful views, comfortable beds and the best equipped kitchen I've ever seen in a vacation rental. There we're lots places to spread out both inside and outside for quiet and peaceful relaxation. We enjoyed the treats and gifts left for us.

What a beautiful view!

This is a beautiful house right on the water. We stayed over 4th of July weekend and the fireworks were incredible. We loved all of the amenities the house had to offer. The kitchen was fully stocked and had a lot of oils and spices and the house was so comfortable with plenty of seats and outdoor patio chairs.

Perfect spot for a weekend girls getaway

The property was clean and beautiful, and had was fully stocked with everything we needed and then some. We absolutely loved the neighborhood pups who came to visit us. Overall we had an amazing time!

Wonderful Winter Getaway

What a beautiful location! Our family had an absolutely wonderful stay. Once we arrived there was no need to leave as the house had everything our group of adults and kids could want for our stay. The home was well so well appointed with games and cooking needs, that both kids and adults were entertained screen free. We especially loved visits from Nellie and Buddy the neighborhood dogs. It was cold outside, but not cold enough for the kids to want to spend time outside playing with the pups.

Beautiful relaxing stay

This was the perfect paradise for me, as I relaxed, hung out with my daughter, and explored the waterfront properties to consider a permanent move. The energy of this house is wonderful, the master bedroom is incredible. High quality everything, without being "over-the-top." The views are majestic, the house warm and comfortable.

We have traveled far and wide and know that nowhere else in the world quite compares to the Pacific Northwest. It is at once serene and majestic and mysterious and beautiful. Our hearts are at home here and we will always return. We really feel that Stella Maris is a special place.
