Classic, spacious 1930's beach house just 90 minutes from Seattle. Fast Wi-Fi with an office for work, and the most iconic Mr. Rainier and water views in the South Puget Sound. This is a quiet retreat from city life, though the charms of Gig Harbor are only 30 minutes away. Drive a few minutes to 3 state parks, or just stay and enjoy the beauty and peace.
The house retains its original charm and has been updated with a cozy gas fireplace, a new kitchen, quartzite counters and stainless steel appliances, fresh interiors, and a deep soaking tub. The dining and living rooms comfortably accommodate a family or group of friends, and the remodeled kitchen has all the you'll need to make great meals including pots, pans, coffee maker, colander, garlic press, dishes and utensils, toaster, rice maker, Instant Pot, blender, and basic spices and oils.
While here, you can kayak, play Badminton, roast marshmallows at the beach-side fire pit, paddle, play a round of bocce ball, or just relax. There is an eagle's nest next door and the birdlife generally is amazing, especially in the winter. A pair of seals keep an eye on the house most days, and a pair of deer often flank the bocce ball court.

About the host
Hosted by cathy gormley
I grew up in Gig Harbor and first visited Filucy Bay as a child. This house is around the cove from the summer home of my parents' best friends, so the area holds many happy memories for me. I am thrilled to have a home of my own here now, and happy to share it with those who know and love Filucy Bay, and those who soon will.
Why they chose this property
I love old houses and old, established landscapes. This house and its grounds were well loved and tended by its prior owners and I hope to continue that legacy.
What makes this property unique
There are many gorgeous waterfront views in the South Puget Sound, but this house's view of the islands and Mt. Rainier is truly iconic.
