Lovely Visit!

The house was clean and organized. Freshly painted inside and out. The beach was 140 steps away. You had a lovely view of the ocean from the deck. The curtains are not blackout and I was glad we brought our sleep masks. There were only 4 of us and it was great. 2 living rooms would be nice for family with younger kids.

2024 Summer Vacay

House was great. Plenty of room for all our family with separation when wanted. Beach is close and a private beach with no driving on so felt safe with our toddlers. Definitely will look to stay here again.

Memorial Day family weekend trip

Our stay was awesome! Our family of 2 young adults, 2 Middle Ages, and 2 grandparents as well as two kids 12 and 14, and a dog enjoyed this house so much. The view was beautiful. Pictures don’t do it justice. The walk to the beach was shorter than we thought which was a pleasant surprise. The beds were cozy and plenty of sleeping space for everyone. The back tv room /sleep room with two twins does not have a door for privacy but worked perfect for the kids. Plenty of comfortable sitting space to enjoy hanging out The house stayed cool. We enjoyed balcony the most! The house was enough to town that we explored all the activities in town a couple of days and others we stayed enjoyed the more calm area around the house.

We had a blast in the property. The property is so close to the beach we walked it everyday with all our stuff and it was no issue at all. Beach and the house were very clean and in a very nice location. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Great stay

We have stayed at so many places and always disappointed! BUT THIS STAY was impressive! Very clean!!! And the beach is a few steps away!! The only thing that could be charged would be the tv. We had a 2 yr old with autism and she wanted to hit the tv with items. Other then that it was a beautiful stay. Thank you so much!! Definitely recommend this stay to others!

Perfect for a Weekend or long term stay

The house was clean! The host made it easy to check in and check out. He assisted us with a couple of questions during and after our stay and responded in a timely manner. You can see the beach and hear the waves from the balcony. The house is just a quick walk down a paved road right down from the beach- we used a wagon to make our walk to the beach a bit easier. The kitchen came equipped with what we needed. Dryer and washer available too. We had plenty of room for everyone to sleep comfortably. We do recommend bringing your own pillows. We look forward to booking this home for our future Galveston stays.

Great stay in Galveston

Private beach was great, friendly, secure neighborhood, clean, light, airy atmosphere in the home, pretty decorations, paintings, floor and wall colors, nice kitchen, happy surprise 3rd bathroom. The 4th bedroom was more like a 2nd living room with 2 twin beds on one side, nice, but not private, lots of covered parking, loved the outdoor shower and the ramp, as well as, a great staircase. Outdoor balconies had several nice seating areas, and 2 gates that closed nicely. The kitchen dishes and pans were very nice quality. One drawback.. the outdoor grills were too dirty to use, so we changed our menu. Stores and gas very closeby. The ac was great .. nice and cold in July! Seating areas were comfortably and plentiful for our large family of 13! Thank you for providing a lovely vacation home.

Great location to beach, property fell short of expectations

The owner did call back when needed, nice enough gentleman. Two weeks prior to our stay, the hurricane hit the area with some wind so a little exterior issue here and there was not unexpected. However, the floors are popping up inside, many dead bugs were found due to the exterminator coming previously and nobody had been to the place in a few weeks to check on it, and the building just was outdated and older. Overall the stay was fine, just not as nice as the photos. Additionally, the mosquitos in the area were the worst I have ever experienced.

It’ll work if you don’t have high expectations!

I wouldn’t stay here again. The property was dirty. It ness a good scrubbing inside and out. The vent on the wall by table is filthy. The cupboards/appliances need wiped down. Broken toys out in yard. The shower leaks a steady drip that makes you crazy. Grills are not usable which totally destroyed our game plan for eating. NO kayaks. The beds do not leave you with a good night rest. It does have nice view of water and close to walking to beach and private beach was nice.

The house size and cleanliness of the house and property were great. The master bedroom lacked privacy due to double doors not completely closing. The master bathtub would not hold water. When we arrived we had little to no hot water and called the manager who promptly booked a repair guy. However, the repair guy could not show up until the day we left. When the repair guy showed up, the manager informed us we had called for no reason, that the hot water heater was working just fine. I felt like he thought we had not been truthful when reporting the issue. Also, if you need black out curtains to sleep, this is NOT the place for you. All curtains were shears which allowed you to enjoy the beautiful views. We could never get the back tv to connect to the cable service, so we just all shared the main tv. I still gave the stay a four overall, such a great location and large house to accommodate us all. We would stay again.

The good: The house itself is lovely. There was plenty of room for our group of 12, and though it feels less congested than Galveston proper, we were still close to things, including a Dollar General 4 minutes away. The house is a VERY short walk from the beach. You’re 12 minutes from town. There’s plenty of room for everyone to have space without feeling like you’re on top of each other. Mary tried to fix issues that we had and worked with us to fix our frustrations over things that couldn’t be fixed. Our problems were really a series of unfortunate events happening at the same time.The bad: Our problems were really a series of unfortunate events happening at the same time. We found out on our way there that we were a bed short due to the previous guest’s breaking it, but as discussed with Mary (who was amazing during this frustrating process), we made it work with a different sleeping arrangement. We had an unreliable fridge/freezer because it either wouldn’t freeze or was completely frosted over the entire trip. We had to go out to eat on nights we didn’t plan or make extra runs to the store since we did not have a trusty way to store food. Three of the four living room ceiling fans and one bedroom fan weren’t working. The living room ones got fixed, thankfully, because that room is longer and lacks air flow. Mary sent an electrician the next day to fix that, but he didn’t mess with the bedroom fan and took a working fan from another room because of a bracket issue. That issue was not re-addressed after I brought it up again. We addressed the yard not being mowed with EVOLVE, and it was handled the same day maintenance was there. All in all, I dealt with customer service via text, call, or email every day of this trip. That was frustrating, but my kids, who weren’t as affected by all of that, had a great time, and that is what I wanted to happen. I’m grateful to Mary for her patience and kindness. I know she was as frustrated as I was.

Wonderful home; needs a little TLC :)

We loved this place! The home is decorated/ colored in such a cheery, inviting, user friendly fashion, with a unique layout that honors vacation "mode". The door that closes off back bedrooms/hallway is genius, as it allows the late sleepers not to be disturbed whilst others get up early, use the kitchen, etc. The home didn't appear to have been cleaned before we arrived, though. There was obvious filth, stains, spills, bits of food on floors, hair still in bathrooms, food left in bedroom, trash had not been emptied from the bins outside. Perhaps the turnaround time between guests wasn't adequate for thorough cleaning to be done? This lovely home has some updates that are needed. The wash machine, though very convenient and much appreciated, is likely ruined. No matter what you wash in it, or how much scented product you add, the items come out smelling very strongly of mildew, and it does not go away, so whatever you wear, you stink. Some of the drains in bathrooms drain very slowly, there's paint peeling up on wall in one bathroom. In bunk bedroom, the ceiling fan has no blades on it, and the ac/heat vent in ceiling is hanging sideways, about to drop from ceiling. Unsightly, but more so, a bit of an unpleasant accident waiting to happen in a room where likely kiddos will be the occupants. Just a bit of TLC, and a good deep clean, is all the home needs. It really is a very special, family friendly place, and we would return here in a heartbeat, and most likely, we will!

Best location ever!

Overall for a family the property needs some updates, and some simple maintenance touch-ups. The stairs up to the front door have nails sticking out everywhere need to be hammered back in. There were loose spindles on the deck which my 3-year-old granddaughter stuck her head through very frightening. Ceiling fan in the kitchen does not work ceiling fan in fourth bedroom had no blades. Coffee pot was nice but only had a two cup coffee pot so first day coffee got spilled everywhere need a new coffee pot. The blender only had the base no top part for blending. Ice maker in the refrigerator doesn't work had to go buy ice twice a day. The sofa bed in the living room with disgusting I'll attach pictures no one would sleep on it so had to go buy an air mattress for the bedding. There were two grills for cooking both were unusable completely destroyed rusted out. The patio had lots of paint equipment and paint buckets scattered everywhere very inconvenient had to watch my twins constantly getting into that stuff. Master bedroom doesn't have knobs on the doors you have to pry the doors open and close. Think with some simple updates and a little bit of care the place would get five stars. But unfortunately with the inconveniences of simple things like no coffee maker no blender ceiling fans not working just a little aggravating. If these things were updated it would make all the difference in this property.

Not what I expected

The location is great, close to the beach and a quiet neighborhood. The 4th bedroom isn’t a bedroom so I wish I had read reviews prior to booking. The house needs some attention and a deep cleaning. (the rust and general wear make it look dirtier than it is). The bbq grills are filthy and unusable. When we got there, the tvs weren’t working so I called the contact on my email and was told I could call AT&T myself to figure it out. They require a PIN which I didn’t have so we just didn’t have tv during our stay. It was only a problem when a couple of our group wanted to watch football so they went out. The patio under the house looks like they just leave everything left by previous tenants and there was trash in the lawn. The outdoor shower is ok for washing off sand but I didn’t want to spend much time in there, it is rusty and dirty. Most of the pots and pans look ancient and can’t be cleaned, they are black with baked on crud. And like I’ve seen on other reviews, no paper products or dish soap is provided. I don’t want to make it sound awful, it worked for us, it just isn’t what was advertised. We enjoyed the deck and the view!

We had a great trip! The property was located so close to the beach and our group had a great time. We enjoyed mornings and evenings on the balcony and days at the beach. Great place to stay and the owner is very responsive. No problems at all.

The location can’t be beat. Quiet, close to beach, easy to get to. Fantastic. The house layout is a bit quirky, but it works. The only negative was the lack of obvious essentials. There were 7 of us for 3 days. The house was equipped with two almost empty rolls of toilet paper, no hand soap, one tab of dishwasher detergent and 1 kitchen trash bag. It was a little annoying to have to go buy these basics supplies, but not the end of the world.

This house is a cute as it is in the pictures! We loved how close we were to the beach and went back and forth often. The outdoor shower was so convenient. I even enjoyed that it was outside of the busyness of Galveston and found the drive to be a nice one.

Great house, great location
