Cozy Slice Of Paradise Just Steps From The Beach!!

Classic Newport Beach Charm - 2 bedroom 2 bath home located by the world famous Wedge on Peninsula Point. This nicely furnished home provides easy beach access, less than 100 steps away from the sand. Enjoy your morning coffee or evening dinner on the inviting front porch, or entertain privately in the comfortable backyard.

Kitchen has refrigerator, gas stove, oven, microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker, coffee grinder, crock pot, blender, and dishwasher. The living room and master bedroom each have a flat screen Smart TV. There's a high chair, porta-crib, and toddler bed rail, as well as a set of plastic dishes in the kitchen for your little ones.

Plenty of bikes, board games, and beach equipment and toys. In the back yard you can enjoy our gas grill, charcoal BBQ, and fire pit. Peninsula Point, in addition to being one of the most desirable neighborhoods in all of Newport Beach, also offers a Bay Beach (which is a short 3 block walk from the house) for those who wish to enjoy the water without the waves.

The home is also located only a short and easy walk or bike ride from the Fun Zone where you can rent boats, paddle boards, go on a fishing expedition, take the ferry to Balboa Island, or simply enjoy one of the many restaurants. Wonderful place to make new family memories!!

We have stayed at Surfs Up Cottage many times and love it. Kate, the host, is wonderful. We especially love having the bikes to ride and all the beach stuff. Location is beautiful.

The perfect beach house for our family of four spring break trip. The house was quite well appointed, the furnishings lovely, beds and pillows firm and in good shape, kitchen had everything we needed, and just can't say enough about the wonderful and highly responsive host, Kate. She went out of her way to make sure our family had a great experience. We hope to be back next year!

We love staying here!! Just steps from the sand and everything is provided from beach towels & umbrellas to bikes & beach toys. Super cute cottage in an amazing neighborhood. We love taking walks, riding bikes to get ice cream, and reading books on the beach. Relaxing place to stay!

Quick family beach getaway

My family of 5 had a great time staying here. With the beach just steps away, to the short bike ride to town and the home away from home feel of the cottage, we had a blast. I highly recommend staying here. Kate was super easy to work with and we will definitely be back!

2nd stay at Kate’s property on Balboa Peninsula. She updated the bathrooms as well as new furniture in the main living space which are nice touches. Location is ideal. Quiet neighborhood and adequate street parking despite it being high season. House is super cute and perfect for a couple to stay in. Just steps away from the beach. Kate is very accessible and makes the process super smooth. Overall a very enjoyable week in Balboa!

Perfect House, location and amenities

We've come to Newport for years and have a new favorite house. Kate was an awesome host, very easy to work with. The house is just as described and has so many little touches from the welcome snacks, to games, books, bikes, helmets, beach toys, wagon, and towels. The location to the beach couldn't be better! We loved everything about out stay!

Cozy cottage in the best location

Another Amazing Stay at the Slice of Paradise!

Super easy access to the beach, all the amenities you need for the beach, sleeps 6 perfectly, fire pit for the evenings, and parking is plentiful. If you are looking for the Newport Beach experience, this is the place to go. Close enough to all the amenities, but far enough away from the tourist hustle and bustle.

Hi, I'm Kate! I've been managing our home on VRBO since 2016, and I love knowing that I'm helping families create their own memories in our little cottage! I live in Los Angeles, have 3 grown kids who all live in the LA area, and have a crazy dog named Echo. I've been involved with a maternity shelter for homeless pregnant women for years, and coordinate the volunteers there. I'm a huge LA Dodgers fan, have just started playing pickle ball, like to travel, and love sitting out on the beach for sunset. Hope you love our little house!!

Why they chose this property

Our family began vacationing in Newport Beach in 1996, when our children were young. We started out on Balboa Island, but then fell in love with the Balboa Peninsula. We've been coming to Newport Beach for 26 years and our (now grown) children have the best memories of riding bikes, jumping in the waves, and eating Balboa Bars! We loved being able to rent and stay in the same house for 10 years - there was something so comforting and familiar about knowing what to expect when we would arrive each summer. We hope our house can provide many years of memories for our guests.

We bought this charming cottage in 2005, and loved the neighborhood and how close we are to the beach. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do!!

What makes this property unique

Our home has a unique warm and welcoming feel as soon as you walk in the front door!! We are located at the quiet end of the charming Peninsula Point neighborhood. Fabulous spot for a family vacation, or a girl's getaway. Great location for bike riding - you can park your car and not move it for days! Grab your beach chairs and towels - the sand is just steps away. Make sure you take the ferry over to Balboa Island and do a little shopping on Marine Avenue - and a Balboa Bar is a must! We love to grill in the backyard and then enjoy dinner on the front porch - but we always love to go out to the sand for the gorgeous sunsets. One of our favorite things is to sit around the fire pit in the back yard and make s'mores in the summer time. Our family has been coming to this area for 26 years - it's our little slice of paradise!!
