Our cabin is located on 2.5 level acres that includes frontage on the northwest shore of beautiful Lake Dunmore. I have enabled a booking restriction on VRBO that prevents guests from booking arrivals and departures on the same day as existing guests' arrivals and departures. This is to give me an overnight stay to do cleaning, laundry, etc. and other things like cutting the lawn, minor repairs. If this is a showstopper for you, please don't hesitate to let me know and will try to make an exception for you.
My wife and I are the only ones that manage change-over between guests. VRBO has provided us with cleaning protocols and effective cleaning and disinfecting products recommended by the CDC for novel viruses, including Covid-19. We have adopted these cleaning protocols to provide you with safe lodging. We provide all renters at check-in an individually wrapped sponge, individually wrapped toilet paper and CDC approved cleaning supplies free of charge. We are continuing these practices even though pandemic issues seem to be fading.
The cabin has two bedrooms on the second floor, one with a queen bed and the second is a twin bed. The full bathroom is modern and on the first floor. The living and dining rooms have beautiful wood paneling. The living room has a futon if you need additional sleeping space for two additional guests. A propane heater is located in the living room on the first floor to keep you warm when the weather is cool. The hot water heater is a fuel efficient, on-demand heater so there is always hot water available if multiple people need to take showers, baths sequentially. The kitchen is well appointed with pots, pans, dishes, modern gas range and oven, microwave, refrigerator, utensils, all of the cooking amenities that you could want. Our wrap-around, screened-in porch provides an ideal location to enjoy the view of the Green Mountains on the opposite shore of the lake or to relax and catch up on your summer reading. The clean water for the cabin is provided by a well located on the property that we test occasionally. We provide free 1 gigabyte wireless internet. Our outside deck has a picnic table, several Adirondack chairs and a gas grill.
Our level 2.5 wooded acres provide easy access to the cabin and the lake and also more privacy than may be available at other smaller properties. The driveway is located right next to the cabin with space for 3 cars. Our lake front is approximately 50 yards from the cabin and is accessible by our private road. The lakefront has a dock suitable for a ski or fishing boat and a swim float. Our large fenced-in yard may be ideal for your family dog. Smoking is not allowed anywhere inside the cabin.
Lake Dunmore is located just seven miles south of Middlebury and borders the Green Mtn. national forest. The area is ideal for swimming, hiking, road and mountain biking, fishing.

Absolutely fantastic property. The camp location was everything I had hoped for and was equipped with everything I needed to cook with as far as the kitchen goes, cozy but actually large living room, the screened in porch was my favorite spot to read. Lake access was private and simply beautiful. I have already booked for next year's stay.

Charming but deeply worn house. The hosts were lovely, though, and the lake was great.
best screened porch, top kitchen, best lake view from dock
porch and dining room, and all downstairs, really, can be all open windows so you are getting all the air; kitchen is really good for cooking and fully equipped; swim out to the floating dock and get the best view of the lake. Thanks!
Visiting family in Vermont, very charming place to stay, quaint, quiet, fun in the lake, grandkids visited, great cookout, although the steps to the one bedroom were challenging for my handicapped wife, never thought a futon would be so comfortable, especially for me, at 6’2”, 260 lbs, it was great, we had loads of fun, short trips to restaurants, and another visit to Tom and Jerry’s, thanks so much, it was awesome, will be back!
They call this a cabin, but this is more a rustic house in my opinion, but maybe because I don't have a great opinion of cabins in general, lol. The fenced in yard was perfect for my pug dogs. I was shocked at how well stocked this place was. They had items in the kitchen that I didn't know existed. I only slept in one of the beds, but it was comfortable and the pillows were fluffy and so nice. If this is available for next year's event weekend, I'll reserve again.
My partner, dogs, and I just got home from our third vacation at this cabin on Lake Dunmore. We always feel welcome and right at home, love the cozy cabin vibes, and spending as much time at the lake or hanging out on the porch to take in the Green Mountains. Can’t recommend staying here enough!
Lovely property - we had a dog and the property is well fenced so we could just let her out to explore - which was good because sadly it rained a lot while we were there. We made the best of it and explored the area - lovely place to "come home to" every day!
What a great place to stay close to Middlebury college. My wife and I were visiting our son at Middlebury college. We brought our Labrador Retriever. What a great dog friendly neighborhood! Brian was very accommodating and even let us check in hours early. It was great to have a fenced in yard. It's a quiet and beautiful neighborhood! We will always try to stay here when visiting our son.
Just a really comfortable place. You can hang out at the dining table or front porch, classic. The view from the actual floating dock is one of the best on the lake.
We had an amazing time at Lake Dunmore - the house was excellent for our 5 year old and 8 month old and our dog really loved the fenced in back yard. We loved it!
We met Polly at the house for a quick meet and greet and orientation. The house is very comfortable and had everything we needed. Grocery stores, shops, etc. are a brief drive. Enjoyed hearing the geese and owls and watching the mist rise from the water in the morning. Would happily visit again!
Beautiful area for short 4 day stay . Cabin was clean and cozy. Well stocked for pretty much anything . Only dislike was the bedroom was in a loft area with narrow steps , and a bit tough to navigate in the middle of the night when the restroom was needed . Loved the quaintness otherwise .
Couldn’t be happier with this quaint, charming cabin. Loved the wood floors , screened porch , and mostly the large fenced yard and the dock for ball throwing with our goldens .
The area is so peaceful and quiet this time of year . Took a hike around silver lake . Loved every moment of this fall getaway , hoping to come back again. Many Thanks to the hosts !
It was like a home away from home. Everything you needed was there. A grill was available, there was a store nearby. Nice cozy place to hang out. A small walk to the lake. We would definitely stay here again.
Our small family thoroughly enjoyed our fall lake stay at this cabin. We were close to hikes, corn mazes, farms (e.g. Billings) and had a comfortable base. Plenty of kitchen space and fully stocked with dishes and cookware. The porch was awesome for coffee and cocoa. We took a few spins in the canoe out on the lake, too. Absolutely everything we needed was here!
