Versatile Vermont Farmhouse Rental - Peaceful and Relaxing!

Peaceful, private, inviting, roomy 200 year old farmhouse on 114 acres in the Green Mountain National Forest- Goshen (central ) Vermont. Within a half mile of Brandon Gap Catamount Trail Association trails, and the Long Trail. Hiking right out the door, sledding, cross country skiing. Many updates, antique furnishings, clean, neat and very relaxing: Four bedrooms, one bath and a Queen BR on the first floor. Enjoy the large stone fireplace in living room, dining room, full bath/shower, and a large fully equipped country kitchen with pantry. Upstairs, there is a claw foot tub in bathroom as well as three bedrooms: a large Queen, twins and a large double. Cable TV, a full game closet, sleds, skating, golf, ponds nearby. Rent by the weekend, week or month. Holiday vacation weeks available. Great spot any season! Guests may request to have a larger group for a fee.

Views are spectacular from the 3-season stone sun porch. Only one other home is visible from our property. Hiking trails, blueberry picking, the brightest stars on Earth, as well as rivers and ponds abound. Wildlife sighted frequently in our meadows. The nearby town of Brandon boasts many well-known galleries, book store, shops and a terrific French restaurant. At any season, this is a wonderful family vacation location. For skiers, we are close to Middlebury Snow Bowl, a small family mountain with varied terrain. A 30 minute drive takes you to Pico and Killington, and about 40 minutes will get you to Mad River and Sugarbush. Hiking and snowshoeing right out the door on logging trails throughout the property. Golf, riding and swimming nearby. Same Town as the Blueberry Hill Ski Touring Center.

The host requires you to complete the following before checking out:
Strip any used beds and gather used towels
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights, lock the doors and return the keys
All trash goes in large bag in black barrel in garage. Recycle in large red barrel in garage please. If there early wed am, please put barrels out before 8 am at curb.
Check front light is off by front door, and fireplace flue is pulled down and latched to close
Make sure kitchen gas knobs are all turned to off
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
Leave the property in about the same condition as it is found.
Park only on the gravel driveway. Damage to lawn is costly and we once had to use damage deposit
Be gentle with the septic system! NO PARTIES LARGE groups, events- septic emergency cost $1000, from damage deposit.

As a child, I spent many happy days at this property and then my children also did. Making flower headbands in the meadows was a favorite, or hiking up the meadow for the view, travelling to many nearby waterfalls to swim. Working around my teaching schedule, we visit as often as we can!

Why they chose this property

This house was passed to me from my grandparents who owned it for over 50 years. It has provided many warm memories through the years as it continues to with our ever expanding rental family! Please add your thoughts to our guest book before you leave!

You will enjoy gorgeous meadow and mountain views from the enclosed porch off the farmers kitchen leading to the great outdoors- hiking right outside the door and the brightest stars you'll ever see!
