Donna I’m so glad you and the grandchildren enjoyed yourselves, the house, location, pool. You mention in the review an insect "issue" but I don't believe that’s an accurate description. 5 days into your 7 night stay, you reported black flies in a room in the lower level, and finding “trash” under a bed or couch. We immediately sent our maintenance man but he didn’t see fly activity or trash. He did hang up a glue trap as a precaution, and reported to me that flies could enter if one of the children left the sliding glass doors open downstairs without the screen. There were no insects flying around inside at the time we inspected. We do have regular scheduled preventative extermination (Orkin is under contract ) 3xs during the season, which was coincidentally scheduled during your stay, but you didn’t want the tech to come inside to treat so I don't think insects were an "issue" . I'm not sure what you mean about not being thrilled with using owners towels. Guests can bring their own towels if they prefer. I am sorry for any inconvenience but am happy that you and your family enjoyed the house, and that we were able to promptly address all concerns. Thank you and welcome back!

I am sorry that you are now saying you were disappointed. But you never complained to me about any issue during your stay. 2 days after vacating you wrote a vague email to me that you messaged VRBO seeking a full refund because you said an 18 year old in your group was injured from a "hazard" on the premises. I immediately replied asking what the injury and hazard was, how he was doing and what happend. I tried to get details and information to address any issue. You refused to tell me anything about what happend, what the injury was or where or what the alleged "hazard " was. I asked you multiple times after receiving your cryptic message at check out. I found out some information the following week through your refund claim to vrbo. I later learned that on your first day an 18 year old in your group cut his toe by the pool area. I am truly sorry he was hurt. But the bolt you were apparently referring to was under a table and plantar; he must have moved those barriers to impact his foot. There was no safety hazard. The pool heater is set for 80 which is standard. You did message a request to raise the temperature. I sent pool maintenance out. You said nothing to him about any pool area hazard when he was there, and when my cleaner saw you at check out and asked how everything was, you said everything was good. We strive to make the stay of our guests most enjoyable and safety is primary. You made no complaint to me, my cleaner, or maintenance, no VRBOrefund was warranted.

Thuy I’m glad you and your family enjoyed yourselves and the pool and neighborhood! Reading your review is the FIRST I heard of you finding a dead rodent in a closet?!! You wrote “communication with host was awesome “ but you never communicated that to us but said all was good. It’s strange that you chose not to say anything to me and then posted that on a VRBO review one month after you left. We do professionally maintain our home to avoid any pests. We have an exterminator company that treats preventatively every other month and we had no such report from Orkin. My family stayed in the house the week before yours and all closets including the utility closets were fine. I understand your family included 8 young children staying so perhaps they left food downstairs and the sliding doors open. Fortunately the preventative measures by Orkin apparently succeeded in the catch. Our home is very clean,and professionally maintained. I am glad your family had a wonderful vacation!

Joan I’m sorry to hear that you felt the house wasn’t clean to your satisfaction upon arrival but surprised by your negative commentary. You first called me in the middle of your stay--Day 3- saying you didn't think the house was cleaned very well before your arrival. I asked for more specific, what didn't look clean, and that I'll have my cleaner go back and take care of it. You didn't have specifics except for an odor inside the tub of the clothes washing machine and dirt on the outside of the kitchen windows, you also mentioned a bug stuck on the glass outside. You commented your mother in law paid a lot of money for this house so everything should be perfect. I apologized, and said that I wished you had called me sooner if unhappy and we would've taken care of any issue sooner. I offered and did send my cleaner back to the house that same afternoon, to clean/address whatever you felt was needed. When she arrived you asked her to wash the glass on sliding glass doors, which she did inside and out, and to clean the inside of the tub of clothes washing machine, which she did purchasing an "afresh" tablet that you suggested. You also suggested leaving the washer door open when not in use, which she did. Your family was a large friendly group with many children there for 3+ days beforehand, finger prints or bug on the outside glass can't be avoided but if it the condition was present and missed before your arrival I apologized. I am sorry but I do think we promptly addressed and tried top appease all of your concerns the same day you expressed them. I also called you later that evening to make sure everything was addressed and you replied that everything was great, that you appreciated our prompt response, you even commented that Colleen (the cleaner ) was "wonderful". Colleen says you only had her clean the two items of (sliders and inside washer) and actually invited her to stay for dinner. You hadn't mentioned silverware, glassware or other things noted in your review, so I'm not sure what "clutter" is referenced in your review. For photos, we do have two master bedrooms each with king beds, as described on VRBO, one on each level. One master shows two photos because the older version includes the room filled with family, a favorite family photo with my dad, his children and grandchildren all hanging out with him in his bedroom, playing chess, watching tv etc. The second photo has no people- surely no deception intended- same written description, similiar angle, same bed frame , same rugs, same furnishings etc just a different bedspread and drapes. The VRBO description says 4 baths, 5 bedrooms; I'm not sure why you thought 5 bathrooms except if its the 5th shower outdoors We do our very best to please our guests and strive for the best family vacation experience. I'm glad your family enjoyed themselves especially the spectacular views and the pool. Thank you

Casey, we are so happy that you enjoyed yourselves and the fabulous location, heated pool, games and pool table! I am sorry to now hear that you were unable to find the washcloths or turn on one of the 4 showers. I wish you had contacted me during your stay about that or any other issue so we could have assisted. In the review you mention your child said he saw "brown" water somewhere- I’m not sure what he's referencing and we never saw that. Perhaps ? the outdoor shower which had been closed after the summer and would not have been used for the months before your October stay. The water is town water and has always been good, and clear and clean. We take pride in a clean and comfortable home’!
