About this property

This cheerful cottage, available for SAT to SAT reservations only, offers a queen size bed and sleeper sofa to sleep up to a family of 4 and a well stocked kitchenette. You can hear the soothing sounds of the ocean from your windows and the whisper of the train in the distance. A short walk to the seven mile long stretch of wide, sandy beach and with the pier and main strip right around the corner. The place is just far enough from the action to not disturb, but close enough to easily walk to.

Fully equipped Kitchen area with microwave, toaster, coffee maker, cooking and eating utensils. Kitchenette size refrigerator and stove. Perfect for a family get-a-way.

The living room area is carpeted, a pull out sofa with an upgraded tempur-pedic mattress for additional sleeping space, smart TV to stream your Netflix/Prime/Hulu accounts, and lots of sunshine.

The bedroom has a queen sized bed, a closet and a dresser, night stand with an alarm clock.

Full bathroom with tub/shower.

There is an air conditioner for those really hot Maine summer days and outside sitting area with gas grill.

Off street parking for 1 car, but plenty of on street parking.

Professional cleaners clean the space top to bottom after stays with disinfectant, including all surfaces and knobs for drawers, cupboards, switches, and doorknobs.

Beach Cottage Near the Ocean

Great space attached to rental property. Cozy and quiet, easy to get in and out. Could use an upgrade on the pull out sofa for sure, but all in all a nice spot for a small family. Thanks for hosting!

Lovely place to visit

This was my first trip to Maine, and we stayed in Old Orchard beach. Our lodging was close to the beach, amusement park, restaurants, arcade and shopping. We even enjoyed a drive-in movie! Food was excellent and the people were friendly. Definitely a place I'd visit again.

Hi!

My name is Chris and I'm a Maine native born in Portland and I grew up in Gorham, ME not too far from OOB. I'm a pretty easy going guy and love sharing the great state of Maine with newcomers, especially those who have never been here before!

In my spare time I spend a lot of time with family and friends and love finding new adventures. Some of my favorite past times are enjoying the outdoors when it is warm, and playing cribbage or finding rare pinball machines out and around New England when it's not.

I built houses with my dad when I was a kid. A handful of them were on Chebeague Island. We would stay in a tent often while we were putting up the frame out there. I learned a lot from him on how to do much of the work myself, so most of the place was refurbished by yours truly, of course, also with loving guidance from my dad.

Why they chose this property

I found this hidden gem back in 2017. The street is quiet, the neighbors are great, and there is so much to do in the area from the beach and pier, to the quick drive up to Portland, or down to Kittery. OOB is about as centrally located as you can get for the southern Maine coastline.

What makes this property unique

When I found this place it had solid bones, but needed some serious TLC and I saw a lot of potential in it. It has taken me two years to refurbish this place to its former glory after what looked like a couple decades of neglect. I wanted to keep some of the OOB summer campish feel with the kitchen while balancing it with a warm home feel.
