Shoal BAY Stunner!

This centrally located holiday home is located a short stroll to the clear waters of Shoal Bay and all that Shoal Bay has to offer.

This holiday home is beautifully furnished with the views to the serene outlook available from most of the rooms. The amazing Queensland room has a recently renovated deck and is the entertainers delight backing on to the tranquil backyard. A large attraction for the holiday with pull down fly screens from top to floor, is equipped with a outdoor lounge, outdoor dining and gas barbeque. It is partly covered for your protection, or alternatively you can enjoy the warmth of the sunlight during winter in the area that is uncovered.

The home is perfect for families, friends and small children. Offering 4 bedrooms, the main bedroom has a Queen bed, brand new ensuite, a built-in robe and access to the rear deck. The second bedroom has a queen bed, built in robe and access to the deck. The third bedroom has two single beds and door access to the deck and the fourth bedroom is a queen bed and situated to the front of the home. Each of the bedrooms are equipped with ceiling fans.

The home has two recently renovated bathrooms and a large kitchen to accommodate all your culinary needs. There is Free Wifi available throughout the property. The kitchen leads to the Queensland room, which makes access to utensils and requirements very easy when utilising the outdoor room.

The fully fenced yard is ideal for children or pets and provides a lovely leafy outlook which adds to the ambiance of the location. Please note this house welcomes small to medium sized dogs who are to be kept outside.

Air conditioning in the lounge, main bedroom, and lounge/dining area will provide comfort during the warm or colder weather. The laundry is equipped with a Washing Machine & Dryer and has external access in the backyard. The single lock up garage is available for your use with extra parking in front. There are definitely smoke alarms at this property.

A short walk to the beach provides an appealing feature to this great holiday home.

Please note: while linen is supplied, the beds will not be made at the property and you will be required to make your own beds.

Home away from home

Very comfortable and homely - all the little extras including coffee machine, kitchen condiments, high chair, family games and books. We had two small dogs who were well catered for with beds and secure back yard.

Shoal Bay Beach House

Overall, the house was great for our stay, plenty of room, all amenities, lovely new bathroom and ensuite. The house is very close to shops and the beach. However, the beds were not the best to sleep in and the bathroom and toilets flooded due to a blocked sewerage system. A plumber needed to be called to find tree roots, as well as wipes from previous stays, blocking the pipes.

House was good- having to get a taxi to pick the key up from a storage shed out of town was not

We needed a taxi to collect the key from a storage box out of town, get to the house to discover the wire door keys were not attached. We were told we needed to pick them up from elsewhere- we refused, so the key was bought to us. Having to detour on the way to the airport at 4.30am, to drop the key back to the storage unit was also a hassle- ridiculous system, would not recommend

Weddings and Family

Great location, attending a family wedding for a 4 night rental. 4 adults, a baby, a toddler and 3 cousins aged 4 to 13 years. The house wasn’t ready at checkin 2pm. The original cleaners had not arrived so it was a last minute quick clean by another team who did their best in 45 minutes. It would have been best if the winnings person told us the truth. The house is fine but needs a good spring clean under beds and lounges etc there’s a lot of dust and cobwebs along with items from previous guests under the lounge and beds. Also please leave good quality tea towels, garbage bags, and dish cloths. If guests are expected to wash up and leave everything tidy on check out, then we need the tools. The yard is great for kids and it’s walkable to restaurants, beach and park. Our frenchies loved the doggy bed and yard. Thank you. We would definitely stay again. The beds we’re comfy, the heating worked well. The washing machine and dryer came in very handy. The oven door doesn’t close properly and the DVD player would not connect. Please don’t think I am whinging, it is just feedback that might be helpful for next the next guest. PS. Thank you to the cleaners we met, they were very helpful under the circumstances.

It had everything we needed for a family holiday especially with a dog . The enclosed yard was excellent . We especially liked the Queensland room . It was perfect for entertaining. The kitchen was well appointed with everything we needed except a bbq lighter . The bbq ignition didn’t work so it was definitely necessary.

Reviewer Comments: House has not been cleaned thoroughly for a long while, filth under all furniture, beds lounge, TV etc., back outdoor area covered in white dog hair and outdoor lounge furniture also dog hairs, house is pet friendly but do expect cleaners to clean before each booking, 50 or so baby spiders crawling on ceilings, had to buy spray ourselves to get rid of these spiders and large cockroaches in kitchen cupboards and the newly renovated bathroom and ensuite were so impracticable, water from shower flooding whole floor of bathroom, had to mop up entire bathroom after every shower, bathrooms look modern and impressive but not working in these small areas, house definitely not worth the expensive rental fee

Everything is great except cleanliness and pest infested

The property is exactly as per described. The backyard and outdoor room is awesome for pets and family. The metal flyscreens to the rooms work great for pets without having to worry about damage. (One of the door was semi off its rails and could not be locked. I did a quick and got it back on the track again so it can be locked and slides well) The living room and kitchen are well equipped with books, games to keep the family entertained and have plenty of cups, glasses, cookware, cutlery, nespresso machine and more to get meals going easily. The bathrooms are newly renovated and a joy to use especially with lil children after time on the beaches. That said, here comes the bad news. Firstly the property floor wasn't cleaned or well mopped. I don't suppose this is the property owners problem but the cleaning service used. We had to give every room a thorough mop down on the first day before settling in and it was really filthy and took quite a bit of effort. Lastly, the place is infested with huge cockroaches. They would appear in the day and night all around the house. We caught over 20 cockroaches during our 5days stay and had to be super conscious about washing every cutlery, cookware and plate before every use which becomes quite a chore during a vacation. We are super conscious to ensure food is in zipper bags or in the fridge. The kids even found one on their blanket when they woke up on the morning of checkout! Pest control really needs to be called in. I'm surprised no one mentioned this from their stay.

Great location, very clean. Plumbing issues- drains that overflowed regularly when showering.

Great experience, everything was great except for having to use all of our towels to mop up where the floor drains in the bathrooms would regurgitate water. The kitchen sink would also regurgitate water and liquids that were poured into it.

Beautiful tranquil getaway with everything you need

Can’t recommend highly enough! What a beautiful house with absolutely everything you need. The outdoor area is fantastic for socialising and the kitchen big enough to cook together. There was a slight mishap with the keys not being In the locker as directed which was frustrating but the quality of the house made up for it. Will be coming back for sure. Thank you!
