SHOAL BAY RETREAT Unit 1 - doggie friendly duplex villa - 100m to beach

2 bedroom duplex unit (sleeps 4), which can also be booked with Unit 2 (sleeps another 5 - which is wheelchair accessible)

Prime location - only 100m to Shoal Bay beach, cafes and shopfront
Suitable for families, couples or groups - including our 4 legged ones friends in our secure gated garden!
Off street parking for one vehicle (sorry no trailers or boats)
Total internal area 46 square metres (excluding covered deck 6m x 3m)
Bedroom 1 : Queen bed, pedestal fan, electric blanket, radiator
Bedroom 2 : 2 single beds, pedestal fan, electric blankets, radiator
Large outside covered living and dining deck area (6m x 3m)
Doggie friendly for trained pooches, and close to leash free beaches too!
Up to 2 small dogs allowed, but only one large dog allowed. If in doubt please send us an enquiry. PLEASE LET US KNOW IF YOU ARE BRINGING A DOG WHEN YOU BOOK.

Shoal Bay Retreat is a duplex house of 2 x 2 bedroom units. This Unit 1 sleeps 4 guests and see listing for Unit 2 (sleeps 5) if you have a larger group of up to 9. (If you have problems finding and booking Unit 2 and Unit 1 together - please send us a message for us to assist).

Being so close to the beach its the ideal place to park your car and walk to the beach and activities. At night Shoal Bay beachfront is alive with great restaurants and pubs to choose a few minutes walk away.

Or rent bikes - or even a tandem! - only 70m away to explore a network of dedicated bike paths from Fingal to Nelson Bay and beyond...

Shoal Bay Retreat offers a great combination of prime location, comfort and value. And you can bring your well behaved doggie along too.

We loved our stay at Shoal Bay retreat. Just what we needed for a long weekend away. Walking distance to everything you need. The outdoor shower hose was perfect to get rid of all the sand on us and our dog. We enjoyed the outdoor porch and the cosiness of our accommodation. We hope to return again soon

Perfect Location!!!

Best location. 5 min walk to beach and shops. Off street parking is a bonus. Big bathroom and good size fridge. Will definitely be back!

Nice Place in Shoal Bay

We had our four nights stay in Shoal Bay retreat with our pet dog Lexi. It is a nice place. Very close to city centre and other Nelson bay locations. Really enjoyed the outdoor area in the evenings. No problem of recommending this place.

Amazing family trip with our dog

Excellent location and especially loved its dog-friendly nature. It's so hard finding dog-friendly accommodation anywhere but here. My dog had his first beach experience since entering our family two years ago and he had had the most active time of his life. Keen to visit again.

Fantastic stay

The check in process was seamless and contactless. The unit itself was great for a family of 4 with a dog and the location is excellent with a short 50 metre walk to the beach and the main shopping strip. We had a great stay at Shoal Bay and I highly recommend staying at these units. I look forward to returning.

Great location and we loved taking our dog on holiday

This place attracted us due to it being dog friendly and its great location 100m from beach. Easy walk everywhere to cafes, restaurants, IGA. Road is a bit busy but not too noticable. Unit was well equipped and had everything we needed. Patio with lounge and table was excellent and outdoor shower very handy for the beach. We loved our stay and will definitely be back again with Rusty!

Awesome 4 nights spent at this great relaxing unit.!! Everything is so good 😊. Love the outdoor veranda seating area, sunset view and relaxed vibe. Perfect Pet Friendly getaway

Comfortable and close to the beautiful bay and restaurants.Rare to find a gem that is pet friendly so close to everything in the Bay.Well equipped ,large enclosed deck for our beautiful dog.We felt comfortable and safe popping out for a meal now and then knowing she was safe and comfortable on the deck with her bed and toys.Lovely area to sit and eat with fairy lights.Relaxing lounge on deck where reading was a treat.Great property.Comfortable and clean. we will be back. Thank you hosts great communication.

We always stay here with our Mazie dog. Comfortable close to everything. Excellent communication with hosts. Always a relaxing visit.Pet friendly is the way to go and rare close to all restaurants etc but don’t tell anyone ….As long as you respect the property it’s the place to stay.

Great location

Good place, great location. Fantastic for our family of fours and small dog. Bit noisy at night and a few minor things could be improved eg though kids bed not so comfy. Overall though very good and would recommend.

Convenient location Shoal Bay

The unit was very convenient to the beach. There was a sunny outside verandah for sitting and relaxing. The indoor living and dining area was very small for the price that was paid. Bathroom grout needed a good scrub and there was no bathmat. Otherwise the unit was clean.

I'm retired from the TV and film world but Mandy is still busy saving lives as a nurse!
Deprived of sun, sand and surf growing up, we now spend our time between Sydney's Northern Beaches and Port Stephens. We first discovered Shoal Bay in 1985 and we have been spending time here ever since.
We bought and renovated Shoal Bay Retreat because of its prime beachside location, classic style and flexible layout for guests. As dog lovers (we have a spoodle) we allow well behaved doggies too!
