This landmarked Wexler home, built in 1963 and I believe these are the only case study homes in Palm Springs. For anyone who appreciates genuine mid-century modern aesthetic, this is a rare gem.
Comfy Queen beds. Pool heated at $60/day.
Close to the Palm Springs Areal Tramway, you must see.
(This is a review from 2-20-20) Hi Doug - I wanted you to know how much we LOVED our stay in your exquisite home. The architecture was stunning and the interiors beautifully designed. I had toured the Wexler homes during Wexler Weekend a few years ago and I had admired them but it is a complete treat to be able to live in a perfectly designed environment for a few days rather than just racing through on a house tour. Having an opportunity to slow down and allow my eye to take in all of the clever details of Don Wexler's design, to enjoy the interiors and of course take in the grandeur of the magnificent mountains was great for the soul. Thank you for sharing your home. It was a true pleasure and I am already checking the calendar to see when we can book our next stay. xo Beverlee

About the host
Hosted by Claudia
Filmmaker/director. Have had this wonderful house for over 20 years! Fell in love with mid-century 25 years ago. I make documentaries and specialize in fashion/real people/celebrities and beauty. Grew up in Santa Monica, lived in Italy as a fashion photographer. Moved to New York, my home now, in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. I travel the world for my job, and always return to Palm Springs when I can.
Why they chose this property
This home is unique. A mid-century modern 'case study' home, part of a little enclave of 7 homes built in 1963, designed by the brilliant Donald Wexler. They are all steel, modular homes. This house has a purity and elegance in it's design, like similar homes by Frey, Neutra and LeCourbusier. It is called "Steel Development Home No. 4. For me, it's like owning a Picasso.
What makes this property unique
Experience the real 'modernist' experience, where indoor flows into outdoor. Huge glass windows all around the house. Large yard and original kidney shaped pool. And a hammock, for the ultimate bliss.
