Renovated modern traditional house 5mins-walk from station "Uan/Sora"

"Uan" is a charming cluster of 5 houses surrounding a quiet courtyard. This is one of the newly renovated modern traditional houses, "Uan/Sora". The house was built more than 100 years ago and recently renovated for a vacation home. The house still has an old atmosphere of Kyoto and provides the latest furnishings. It is fully furnished and all necessary appliances will be provided.

The Sora (空) House is a two-story house of 90 m2 and fully renovated in 2018. 3 bedrooms with the total of 9 beds and 3.5 bathrooms, this house is suitable for a large group. In the living room there is a table large enough for 10 people can have seats all together.

There is the full kitchen(cookware, dinnerware, seasonings, a microwave, a toaster oven, a rice cooker, a hot water kettle and more), washing machine/dryer, washing detergent, utilities, and home appliances. Of course, fresh bed/bath linen and toothbrush are provided.

On the first floor, there are two bedrooms. 3 single beds and 1 double bed in Bedroom 1, 2 single beds (can be pushed them together to make a double bed) in Bedroom 2. There is 1 double bed in Bedroom 3 upstairs. Bedroom 2 has an en-suite bathroom and Bedroom 3 has an en-suite shower. There is also another bathroom adjacent to Bedroom 1.

Located in 5 minutes walk from Higashiyama station in the Higashiyama area of Kyoto.

The Higashiyama area is considered the most Kyoto like place in Kyoto. If you are interested in temples, the most prestigious Zen temple in Japan called Nanzen-ji is near the house. Also, Heian shrine, Shoren-in, Chion-in and Yasaka shrine are within a 5-10 minute walk from the houses. You can also walk to Gion area to the downtown in Kyoto.

This house locates in a very nice and quiet neighborhood. It is within the walking distance to Gion and Nishiki Market (15 mins walk). There is a Lawson convenient store nearby. The place is super clean and comfortable! The beds and pillows are super comfy! We have 8 people and it was wonderful to find a place that we could hang out after a long day of site seeing. The owner provides a very clear and informative guest books on where to eat and shop. Our friendly host met us at the house and introduced the amenities. Very helpful! Certainly would stay here again if we came back to Kyoto! Highly recommended!

What a great place to stay!!! Instead of self check in, our hosts greeted us at the door. The entrance is lovely and the place itself was ideal for our family of 6. Kei N and her husband showed us around, went through the details of the place and even gave us a bottle of sake. Everything was fresh, clean and appeared in top condition. Plenty of bed options as well as bathrooms. Pictures are accurate and an easy walk to connect to wherever you are going.

great stay in quieter side of Kyoto

had a great time staying at this house. communication with host was excellent- they were very accommodating for check in when our train was delayed. House was as described, had 5 adults with pleanty of room for everyone. Nice having 3 bathrooms. Area is centrally located near public transport which makes getting around convenient. walkable area wirh shops, restaurants etc while area near house nice and quiet that uou forget you are in the middle of a city. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area.

Lovely stay in an amazing location

A large group of friends and I had a wonderful stay in Kyoto here. Our host, Kei, was very communicative throughout the process, and made the check-in and check-out very easy. The location is perfect for exploring all of Kyoto’s shrines and temples, within walking distance to Gion, and very convenient to take public transportation everywhere else. The house itself was sparkling clean and very comfortable for our group of seven people. They took great care to provide translations for all of the appliances and good recommendations for local cafes and restaurants. We hope to stay here again when we come back to Kyoto!

Great choice

After being misled by some crafty photography in Tokyo, it was a relief to find this property as advertised: wholly renovated, sparkling clean, and spacious with a great kitchen. There is no living room per se, but the large kitchen table served as a fine community space, and the sleeping arrangements were top notch: 2 private bedrooms with their own bath, and a large room with a queen and 3 full beds, with a nearby bathroom. The proprietors were great --attentive and with excellent English. And the location was terrific, very near the museusm district, several temples, and pretty close to central Kyoto. We were absolutely satisfied, and can't recommend this property more highly.
