Blowing Rock is a unique small mountain village with many unique one of a kind shopping experiences and wonderful restaurants. We recommend going into the village or trying some of the local restaurants on the By Pass as well. Blowing Rock has beautiful hiking trails and nature at its finest. It is very mountainous and we recommend the views from the Via Duct on the Blue Ridge Parkway which is just out of town.
You will need a personal car for transportation most of the time although Uber has just come to town. We recommend four wheel drive vehicles in the winter months of January and February. The rest of the year the driveway is just fine and well maintained all year round. The village of Blowing Rock is a 5 minute drive to Main Street.
This home was built to take in all of the wonderful views of the mountains. It is the most comfortable home that I have ever lived in. You wake in the morning to the sounds of birds and nature and glorious sunrises! The view is to the south looking over the John River Gorge. The address is technically Lenoir NC but that is confusing. Lenoir is 20 miles away and this house sits high on the wooded Ridge line just 2.5 miles from the village of Blowing Rock. Yes, it only takes about 5 minutes to drive into the town! The area is Pisgah national Forest and is special in that this area will not be developed in the future due to the National Forest designation. In the winter the view is also very enchanting due to the fact that far, far in the distance you can see the East West corridor of I- 40. We call it the ribbon of lights that run just along the horizon line way out beyond the mountains. It highlights the beauty of the multi layered view of the mountains.
The cabin is on a gravel road and parking is beside the house. There is a turn around area available between the two cottages. We ask that you not use the turn around for parking as it is needed for turning around only.

Easy reservations, great accommodations, great communication, everything was very lovely and very clean. Right off the main highway so really easy to go into Blowing Rock. I originally thought it may be further from Blowing Rock with the Lenoir address but literally right on the edge of the big BR.

Thank you for staying with us! Yes we are located just 2 miles from the village so it is very easy to see everything and enjoy the town.
The pictures don’t do this place justice, it’s got the best views!! It feels very remote but is so close to downtown blowing rock. Everything was clean, well thought out and you can tell the owner takes great pride in the property and serving guests.

We have stayed here once before and plan on continuing to come back. We love the cabin, the area and the views! Best place to unwind and relax. Very clean! Highly recommend!
Great location and beautifully appointed home. Long range view is very worth the slightly exciting drive up the steep road off 321. Perfect size for our family

Thank you for your nice review! Just to clarify for others about the driveway...
Yes it is steep but well maintained and safe. The views are what make the first time up the driveway exciting but that's also why the views are so spectacular and long range from the cottage. Once you go up and down a couple of times it will feel comfortable. You are not in the flat lands but I feel sure you will enjoy the mountain experience. I am always available to answer any questions or concerns. I have one guest that was a little nervous the first time but now is a regular customer every October.

Views you dream about
This small cabin is located on top of a ridge line with its own micro-climates passing through daily. The views are spectacular, 75 miles plus on a clear day. The cabin is perfectly furnished and equipped for a stay of any length and the layout with 2 master suites provides privacy as required.
The wrap around deck, with covered front seating area, also provides multiple gathering areas. All in all a great cabin with an easy to work with owner.

Beautiful, well appointed cabin!
We found the cabin to be beautiful and very welcoming! You really only have to bring food! Everything else is provided for ( w/one exception; gas grill is on site, but no tank), a very comfortable stay!
If you want beautiful views, this cabin has it!
If you want to be close to Blowing Rock and still feel like your smack dab in the mountains, you'll be pleased with this cabin!
I contacted Lisa via text a couple of times and she was very responsive! Thanks Lisa for a wonderful stay!

Thank you so much for the beautiful review. I really appreciate you staying with us!
I did want to let everyone know that the gas grill is directly wired into the gas lines so a tank is not required. So sorry for your confusion in the matter. I will try to add this to my information list as to how to light the grill. You just have to turn the valve on the gas line to the on position. Thank you for letting me know.
We look forward to the beautiful fall season and look forward to having you as our guests again very soon.

Tranquility and relaxation awaits in this perfectly appointed cottage!
We headed to Bailey Camp for a Friday-Sunday "off the grid" weekend. We were searching for a place to disconnect, relax, read, explore, and hike with our 2 dogs. This property was perfect and much nicer than the photos depict.
Lisa was timely with communication and dinner recommendations. All finishes are new, clean, and well kept. The kitchen is well appointed and we lacked for nothing during our stay. The drive into Blowing Rock is under 10 minutes.
This was exactly what we wanted and badly needed. We will be back!

It was so good to have you stay with us. Everything is really getting gorgeous this time of the year. I love it when the rhododendron start blooming. Please come back and stay with us again. You are correct in saying that we are very close to Blowing rock. I can usually drive into town in 5 minutes unless the traffic is heavy. It is very convenient to all that the High Country offers.
See you soon I hope!
Cute cabin in great condition; easy access to Blowing Rock.
We really liked the cabin for it's easy access to downtown Blowing Rock and the stunning views from the back deck. The host was extremely communicative and very helpful. House in like-new condition and very clean with great amenities (large deck, nice grill, fire pit, smart tv, modern kitchen, etc.).
The main negative here is the location near a busy highway; you hear a lot of traffic all day long and even late at night as tractor trailer trucks use the road and have to brake for the hills.
Very small yard space for kids. If you can live with the traffic noise the views are certainly stunning and the cabin itself is very cute. But we were hoping for something more quiet and relaxing.

Dear Sean,
Yes there is some road noise especially this time of the year with the leaves being off the trees. We are located high above the highway on our private road. As always we try to be sure our guests are comfortable and in researching the noise complaint we discover one of the windows in the Master bedroom had been left open which most probably contributed to the noise. In designing the house we were very careful to insulate very throughly the 6" walls so that we wouldn't have an issue with any noise. We will add the inspection of the windows on our cleaning protocol. Thanks for letting us know.

Fabulous and comfortable mountain escape yet close to all!
We had the best week using this quaint, clean, and well-appointed cabin as a home base for our activities. We hiked, skied, shopped, and brewpub-hopped until we dropped. I love the Blowing Rock/Boone area and have to say that I felt such a warm and comfortable relief when we pulled up to the cabin each afternoon or evening after our excursions. It felt like home away from home. We hiked around the property with our pup to take in the amazing views. That was a morning and evening peaceful routine. And, definitely utilizing the wood burning stove most nights was a treat for this Florida couple. I know cooking on a gas cooktop in the kitchen was a highlight for my culinary-inclined husband. We hope to return in the future and stay in this wonderful mountain cabin. I’d give 6 stars if I could!

Disliked: Location
Amazing Cabin - but some noise issues
The property has amazing views and the cabin is neat, new, and very clean. The proximity to Blowing Rock cannot be beat. The owner is very responsive and courteous.
The only reason I gave it 3 stars is that it is right on the highway, which is not apparent in the listing. And the road noise can be very loud. My wife and I had the windows open to get some fresh air in, and the noise from the highway (especially the trucks) kept us up all night. Rather than spend another sleepless night, we went home a day early.
Again, this cabin has a lot of awesome features and I don't want to take away from that, but it was not a good fit as we were looking for a good night's rest.

The bedrooms are on the side of the highway but the house is very quiet on the deck side overlooking the views. The house is very high on the ridge vertically so we are quite far from the highway but you can look down and see it. The walls are very well insulated and 6” thick so unless the widows are wide open you won’t have any issues.
