Welcome to the Foster Boat Works Condo #19, on Lake Charlevoix!
Our quaint one bedroom, 2nd floor condo has a Queen size bed, efficiency kitchen, sofa sleeper in living room, tub and shower combination, and great waterside balcony, overlooking the North West Yacht Marina. Outside charcoal grills are offered at a neighboring park.
Less than 500 yards to Ferry Beach Park which offers lifeguards, playground equipment, basketball courts, sand volleyball, concession stands and a great sandy beach. The public boat launch is right at the end of the street and it's about a 5 block walk to town. Boat slips are available for rent by calling Northwest Marine. We have the perfect location for those who want to see and do it all!
**Please note this property rents on a 7-night minimum basis during the peak season (Saturday - Saturday). Some exceptions may apply so please call us directly for more information.
*** Summer 2023 there is no access to NWYM amenities(pool and occasionally laundry) due to remodeling.

Amazing view, great location!

Great experience with rental manager. The condo had everything we needed and was very comfortable. the view of Charlevoix Lake was amazing as well, beautiful sunrises. Very close to downtown made it convenient. Would definitely stay here again.

Great view

Great views of Lake Charlevoix and boats. The condo is small but efficient, it has everything I needed for a long weekend. The bed is firm but comfortable and we slept well. Great location with no traffic or road noise.

Great location!

The location of this property was perfect, the pool was very nice and it was great to wake up to the sunrise over the marina. The only issue with this particular unit is that it does not have WiFi which was inconvenient. Otherwise very nice in all respects.

This condo is in a perfect location. The main issue we had was the waster stain on the ceiling over the bed and the bed itself was really hard and the memory foam on top did not help. It was very clean and it is centrally located to many things. It just needs some paint, new furniture and TLC.

Great location and views

The views and location were great with great views of a marina on the 2nd floor. The furniture is a bit dated and the HVAC is a bit challenging, with a window unit in the bedroom and only a ceiling fan in the living room, so when the bedroom was cool, the family room was a bit warm on a hot day. The kitchen is an efficiency in the living room, with a 1/2 size refrig and small stove. I wouldn't recommend cooking much in it, but that wasn't a problem for us as there are many great restaurants in the area. Overall a good experience.

Fabulous! Our only disappointment was the quality of appliances in the efficiency kitchen. The stove top burners didn’t heat well and the small refrigerator:/freezer didn't Regulate temp well.

Cute small condo w/great views

The only issue I had was the cupboards were way too high so I couldn’t reach much. Also some if the utensils were dirty and there’s no dishwasher to help prevent that. Noisemakers we’re there Thursday night so I left as it would only be worse Friday night. Other than that, great location with beautiful views.

Reviewer Comments: This past weekend, after we waited an hour to get into the unit because Northern Michigan Escapes forgot to leave us a key (because they think its 1993) we entered the unit to hear breathing on the other side of the wall, or floor or ceiling. We could literally determine that a neighbor was using a can-opener, lifting weights, and talking with a normal voice. not to mention loud music and yelling at times. Northern MI escapes cannot help you with this as they will remind you. They just manage properties that you likely dont want to stay in.

Property Is A Dog

Love Northern Michigan Escapes as a management co. They do and have done an excellent job whenever I have stayed in one of their properties. But, this one does not do them any justice. First, the bed is hard as a rock and really unpleasant to sleep on. Then, the only way to adjust the thermostat is to climb up on a ladder that is left by the bed. Next, the TV’s are so small you might need a magnifying glass to watch them. Then, there is NO dishwasher. Also, a former reviewer got it right. The furniture is barely adequate. This place is obviously being milked for the rental income and the owner has no pride of ownership. We noticed that all of the reviews in the guest book in 2013/2014 extolled its virtues. All reviews after that are missing except for one just recently that was even less favorable than mine. Stay with Northern Michigan Escapes with confidence. Charlevoix has a ton of booking options available. But, avoid this one at Fosters Boat Works folks!!

We only spent a weekend so the size was fine for 2 of us, might be a little small for a longer stay. We appreciated the supplies and the manual with condo and local information that was supplied. Our only suggestion would be to upgrade the sofa to a comfortable sectional and replace or remove those chairs. It would be nice to have a comfortable place to sit inside for evenings or rainy days. Also a bigger coffee maker would be great. Otherwise, it was great!
