Cozy Coastal Villa - Close To Beaches, Parks, Shops, Walking & Bike Trails

Located on the Dunedin Causeway, a.k.a. Curlew Rd on the mainland, this newly renovated villa is uniquely situated. From here, you can walk, bike, or drive to stores, restaurants and beautiful sandy beaches. The Causeway and Islands areas have long been a favorite for all kinds of water activities and is generally a more local/low key alternative to the more well-known Clearwater beach, which is also nearby.

On across the Causeway, Caladesi and Honeymoon Islands offer swimming, birding, shelling, kayaking, sailing, paddle boarding, and wonderful sunsets. In the quaint little town of Dunedin, you'll find festivals, shopping, antiquing, and many fine and reasonably priced restaurants or you can hop on the Jolly Trolley and explore all the way from Clearwater up to Tarpon Springs to see the sponge divers.

Just steps away from the villa is the Pinellas Trail, a multi-use recreation trail extending from St. Petersburg to Tarpon Springs, providing a unique, protected greenspace for walking, jogging, skating and biking. Bike rentals are available just two blocks away.

For the sports-minded, Dunedin and nearby Clearwater are the homes to the spring training facilities for the Toronto Blue Jays and the Philadelphia Phillies.

Oma's boathouse is lovely and in a perfect location. The updates this year look great. I especially loved the coffee station. I've been vacationing here for years and I look forward to returning next summer.

Great Vacation spot

Oma's boathouse is very clean and has everything you need for a great vacation. The pool is very nice and the area is quiet. It's a great location, very close to Honeymoon Island and many restaurants and stores. Brenda's on the Causeway (within walking distance) is a great place to eat breakfast.

Oma's boathouse

I had a great time. The house is really nice and so conveniently located, near the beach, stores and restaurants. The kitchen is fully equipped and the pool is very nice.

Oma’s boat house is our home away from home

Love love love Oma’s Boat House! It is so convenient to fishing and Honeymoon Island, restaurants and stores. The added bonus is the great hospitality we always get from owners Mary and Amanda. Couldn’t ask for better better hosts! Looking forward to reserving again in 2025

Excellent location. Beautiful place and owners

Before we rented the villa, the owner was very accommodating to showing it to us beforehand. The home is very nicely decorated. The owners are super friendly and kind. They respond to emails or text within maybe 2 or 3 minutes. They will do whatever it takes to make your vacation very enjoyable. We loved the place and the location right on the causeway close to nice restaurants, honeymoon island, Dunedin downtown. We highly recommend this villa.

Wonderful Location

Mary and Amanda were a joy. They were quick to answer any questions we had, including how to work the tv remote! The villa was clean and well equipped. The location couldn't be any better! Watching the sunset from the causeway was just beautiful. We spent many hours in the pool, enjoying the Florida sun! In the middle between Clearwater and Tarpon Springs, Dunedin is a delightful area to be! Thank you Mary and Amanda for sharing Oma's Boat House!!

I've never seen so many people and so much traffic.

My rental unit was clean, with a great location, attentive owner and a reasonable lease cost. The problem I had was with the area around Dunedin, Clearwater, Tarpon Springs, Palm Harbor and Oldsmar. It is so overcrowded with people and traffic that there is hardly a square foot anywhere that isn't developed into a shopping center, a trailer court or housing development. The traffic was lined up a quarter mile long at the stop lights and that was 3 lanes wide! I've been to Panama city beach and Destin many times and never felt intimidated to drive my car around that area like I felt driving in the Tampa area. My brother lives there and I will never go back even to visit. I'm not a timid driver but the people there drive like they are nuts. Just not my cup of tea. Sorry.

Oma’s Boathouse is a sheer delight! This was our third stay at this lovely villa that is so clean and comfy! Close to the Causeway and lots of restaurants. Mary and Amanda are the best hosts, eager to help and always responsive. Will rebook for next year

Wonderful vacation!

I've been staying there for several years now and it's perfect. The condo is very clean and fully equipped, including cable TV and internet. The pool is very nice also. It's in a great location, very close to Honeymoon Island State Park and near grocery stores and restaurants. Many local restaurants featured outside dining, which I really enjoyed. The woman who owns the condo is extremely nice. I hope to return next summer.

Causeway Comfort

Enjoyed being close to some of our favorite places like fishing spots and parks. Also, it was a central location for visiting friends in St. Pete, Tampa, and Palm Harbor. Communication was easy, bed was comfortable, and villa and kitchen were well equipped.

Wonderful home away from home

Mary and Amanda are fantastic hosts and the condo was perfect for Al and me. Close to fishing on the Dunedin Causeway and to the beaches and walking in Honeymoon Island State Park. The Boathouse has everything we needed for our vacation! We are already planning our return in 2022!

Perfect summer getaway

This is the 4th time I've stayed at Oma's boathouse and it's always wonderful. It's very nicely decorated and has everything I needed to cook my own meals. The pool is lovely and I love how close it is to Frenchy's and Honeymoon Island. I hope to return next year.

Beautiful villa

I went back to this villa for the second time because I enjoyed it so much last summer. It has everything needed for a month long stay, including beach towels, bags, water bottles etc. The pool is very nice and it's great having the washer and dryer right by the pool. I hope to return again.

Location, location!

Tha villa is a little gem right on Dunedin Causeway on the way to Honeymoon Island. We were pleased to see the villa stocked with many nesessities. The pool was kept very clean and we used it frequently. May was extremely hot and we could have used a second air conditioner in the livingroom which would make cooking in the kitchen cooler. All in all we had a most enjoyable stay. Thank you Mary and Amanda you were great to work with.

A Great Place to Spend the Winter!!

We had spent several winters in the Palm Harbor area in an RV park. We really enjoyed the area and decided to look for a condo/villa in the area so we didn't have to haul our trailer down. We found Oma's Boathouse, had the chance to look at it before booking and thought that it would be perfect for us. The location is perfect, close to both the Pinellas Trail and the Dunedin Causeway/Honeymoon Island. It is a short drive to a number of really nice beaches (including Clearwater Beach) and there are a lot of wonderful restaurants in the area. The Villa is well appointed and is very comfortable. We used the grill and pool a lot. The other folks who live or were renting at Tahitian Villas were very friendly. The owner Mary and her daughter Amanda were terrific to work with We were very happy staying there and liked it so much we have already booked for next winter. It was a delightful spot. Can't wait for next February.

I live in North Carolina and my family lives here in Clearwater. We bought this villa so that I'd have a place to stay when I come to visit. Since I can't come as often as I like, we decided to share it with you. We've spent a lot of time making it just as we'd like it, so we hope you will feel the same way.

Why they chose this property

I grew up in Florida and spent many days at the beach. I love my mountains, but I miss the relaxation of the ocean waves. This villa is in just about the best relaxation location I can imagine.

What makes this property unique

Close to the beach, the Pinellas Trail system and across the street from Frenchy's with some of the best seafood around!
