About this property

No 1 Place Jules Brunet I Private estate in the centre of a french market town

Step through the gates of No 1 Place Jules Brunet and discover a rare duality: the vibrant soul of Riberac at your doorstep, and an utterly private, walled sanctuary within. This is not just a holiday home; it is a gracious maison de maître where historic grandeur meets space for generations to connect. Designed for families and friends to share unforgettable moments, it offers the perfect blend of town convenience and secluded retreat.

A Residence of Space and Tranquility
Spread across two elegant floors, the house offers five beautifully appointed bedrooms. Three feature luxurious en-suite bathrooms, each with its own character. The house sleeps 10 and the configuration of bedroom is two doubles and three twins, or easily adapted to up to four doubles.

Gather in the grand living room, host feasts in the formal dining room, or let the fully equipped eat-in kitchen be the heart of your holiday. For quieter moments, discover a secluded study - a perfect, peaceful retreat for those needing to work remotely or simply escape with a book. When it’s time for entertainment, the well-equipped TV lounge offers a cosy space for film nights, separate from the main living areas. Step outside to choose your dining setting: the sunny courtyard or the spacious terrace overlooking the garden.

Your Private Sanctuary
The walled, extensive garden is your secret world. At its centre lies the heated swimming pool (4.5m x 9m), a glittering focal point for sunny days. The land gently rises to a tranquil area of mature trees, where birdsong is your only soundtrack. At the foot of the garden sits the magnificent games hall—the original, vast barn of this historic estate. A cathedral of fun, it houses table tennis, table football, and darts, promising laughter and friendly competition rain or shine.

The Best of Both Worlds
This is the true magic of No 1 Place Jules Brunet. Within a few minutes walk, you can be browsing the stalls of Riberac’s famous Friday market, selecting fresh bread, local cheese, and Périgord wine. Yet return to find complete peace behind your own gates. You have the culture, cafes, and restaurants of a bustling market town right on your doorstep, paired with the privacy and space of a country estate.

Explore the Dordogne
Beyond the gates, the Dordogne awaits. Discover prehistoric caves, majestic châteaux like Bourdeilles and Mareuil, and picturesque villages. Canoe down the Dronne River, play tennis locally, spend an idyllic day at one of the nearby river beaches - the region is a tapestry of vineyards, woodlands, and history.
Throughout the year, Riberac and its surroundings host vibrant events, from summer pop concerts to celebrations of ancient music, adding a unique cultural layer to your stay.

Ample private parking is provided within the gates for up to three cars, and there is free parking available outside the property.

The property has a lovely homely but quite grand feel.

We had a fantastic week in this house, there was plenty of room for all the guests including room for the teenagers to escape to. The games room and pool area are first class and the house lovely and clean with tasteful decor. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

A great property with spacious rooms with eclectic furniture.

We have really enjoyed our first week in this property, and fortunately we are staying on a further week. There are many places nearby to explore.

A lovely stay in the dordogne

We were just delighted with our stay here in Riberac. The house is as gorgeous as it looks in the photos. Every room beautifully decorated with its own character. it is grand but very comfortable, we especially enjoyed gathering in the kitchen and the living room as well as by the pool. The pool is lovely in itself, but the gorgeous garden surrounding it makes it spectacular. The location is also terrific for visiting the many fascinating sites of the region while offering the easy convenience of local shops. We also cannot say enough about Judith, our host, who was extremely helpful and accommodating throughout our stay. We highly recommend this property. We were a large group and there was ample room. Thank you Judith for introducing us to the Dordogne in spectacular fashion.

Spacious and comfortable mansion house in a quiet corner of Riberac

The house is exactly as described and the owner, Judith, was very helpful with information before our stay. While grand and spacious the house is comfortable with a well equipped kitchen and contemporary bedrooms and bathrooms. The house is very secure and in a quiet corner of the center of Riberac - a pleasure to walk to get our morning croissants! Riberac is a pleasant town in a beautiful part of the Northern Dordogne. A very pleasant stay.

Why they chose this property

I fell in love with the quiet magic of Riberac. It’s a proper, working market town, not a museum piece. I love sitting in the garden with a coffee, hearing the distant church bells and knowing that the buzz of the market is just a few streets away. It’s that perfect balance of peaceful country life and a vibrant, authentic community. You have the stunning Dordogne countryside on your doorstep, but you can also pop out for a fresh baguette and chat with the locals. It feels genuinely French, and I wanted others to experience that.

What makes this property unique

Without a doubt, its unique location. It's the only private estate of its size and caliber in the very centre of Riberac. You have the total privacy of a walled garden, pool, and games hall, but you can walk to the famous market, bakeries, and restaurants in under two minutes. It offers the space and peace of the countryside with the convenience and buzz of a vibrant town right on your doorstep—a combination that is incredibly rare in the Dordogne
