Absolutely delighted
My family fell in love with this house in the mountains. The views and location were breathtaking- we didn't even want to leave the house once we got there. The house was very comfortable, with plenty of room and a kitchen well stocked with cooking utensils. Kim was very responsive and easy to contact. Cashiers is a charming town with plenty to do, and is close to many beautiful sights. We are already planning our next trip.

Wonderfully restful stay in an absolutely beautiful home!
This was the most beautiful place we have ever stayed in! Wonderful location, incredibly comfortable and beautifully furnished! Any time we had a question Kim was super responsive! Best thing was seeing the four black bears run through the Christmas tree farm that backs up to the property! My favorite time was early morning sitting on the deck with my coffee watching the sunrise over the Smoky Mountains. You can't get a more peaceful place. Gorges State Park is 11 miles away and a perfect place to hike and picnic. Highlands is the place to go shopping with many unique shops. Slab Town Pizza is Cashiers is delicious, brick oven pizza. Ingels grocery is the perfect place to pick up everything you need. We had a couple of rainy afternoons but being stocked up with groceries and having streaming tv options we were totally content! You can't pick a better more restful place!

We are so glad you enjoyed your stay and that you found the area as beautiful and peaceful as we do. We would love to have you stay with us next time you are in the area!
The cabin has an incredible sunrise view, however, we were appalled and extremely disappointed in the cleanliness of the cabin. We have rented vacation homes for 15 plus years and never had an experience like this. After reporting the issue to the host, they sent additional cleaners (who were also appalled) to the cabin after two days, which brought it to a relatively 'acceptable' standard, but still well below what one would want to stay in for a week. There was a lot of dirt and grime everywhere - the kitchen cabinets, refrigerator (inside and out), microwave, kitchen sink/faucet, bathroom toilets, sinks, counter. The floors and rugs in the whole cabin were very dirty. A piece of glass in one of the rugs even cut my husband's foot. We were hesitant to use the baseboard heating for fear of fire because of so much grime and dirt on the baseboards. We also received no response from the host when we reported that the dishwasher would not operate. The host offered us use of a washer and dryer, but both were dirty, especially the washer which was dirty inside and out.
Based on the listing, we expected the home to be dated, but at least clean. It was not. It looked like the cabin had not been cleaned in months. We encouraged the host to visit so that they could see first hand the state of the cabin. However, we were treated as the bad guys when we sought some resolution. The host did not even respond to VRBO when contacted on our behalf. This is totally unacceptable.
The house was a little older and more "dated" than we expected based on the photos/description but was very comfortable. It could use some updating, especially the kitchen and baths. The property has a great view, was very private, and the house was very clean and well appointed with needed items/supplies. We would recommend it for it's view, privacy, and convenience to nearby sites and the town of Cashiers.
Rustic cabin located near Cashiers, North Carolina. All you need for a relaxing, secluded stay. Fantastic mountain and valley views and quiet location next to a Christmas Tree farm.
The home was comfortable and met our needs. We were in town for a wedding. My only comment would be that the walkway from garage to the house is not lighted at night (or at least we could not find a light other than over the door). Using natural rock is beautiful, but with the recent rain was fearful of slipping. This was especially concerning since we had our 85 year old mother with us. Otherwise, home was as advertised. View is lovely.
The cabin was great for the areas we wanted to visit. Only 15 minutes to Lake Glenville & Cashiers. One evening we went to Salt Rock Gap overview which is only minutes from the cabin in Panthertown Valley. Kim is very responsive & a great host.
The area and view of the location are perfect for a mountain getaway. We were disappointed with the cleanliness of the house. However, I tend to be very picky about cleanliness, so it may have been more my problem.
(We have high standards and generally don’t give 5 stars)
Great rustic mountain property. Plenty of indoor and outdoor space. Beautiful views! Close to Sapphire and Cashiers for activities. Host was available and easy to contact. Highly recommend this get-away.
The house was nestled in the woods near a tree farm, with beautiful landscape all around. The house was well furnished and had amenities for everything you needed. It hosted 7 men very comfortably.
Beautiful view of the valley out over the christmas tree farm. Over 4,000 feet on the Eastern Continental Divide. Mid-60s at night. Very comfortable place with short 3 mile drive to the Panthertown trails.
We had a wonderful time. Beautiful surroundings and much cooler in summer compared to Cashiers town.

Wonderful home, exactly what we were looking for.
My family was in town for a wedding, and we were so happy to be able to stay at the Laughing Place for the weekend. It was exactly what we needed. The views were amazing, check-in and out were super easy, and the home was decorated nicely!

We had a great time at this property! The home was very spacious and comfortable. The view was beautiful! It sits right in the middle of a Christmas tree farm. House is close to town so it was easy to get to restaurants, shopping, and grocery store. We would definately stay here again!

Cozy, Casual, and Peaceful
Great little cabin. Doesn't have all the amenities of some other cabins, but it makes up for it in charm and comfort. Very peaceful and quiet with beautiful views of the mountains. Quick trip into Cashiers and very close to Panthertown Valley recreational area. High elevation and lots of screened windows and fans means the cabin was very comfortable, even in late July. Layout with open-plan kitchen/living/dining in the middle and bedrooms on either side means no one will feel crowded. Favorite spot was the sunporch in the AM. Will definitely return!
