Charming Beaver Valley Farmhouse - Recently renovated family getaway
Quintessential Ontario 4+ bedroom century old farmhouse sitting on three private acres, comfortably updated and perfect for a quiet country getaway. Minutes from Lake Eugenia, Bruce Trail hiking and Beaver Valley Ski Club. 30 minutes to Thornbury, Collingwood, and the Blue Mountain. Enjoy the Grey Highland outdoors and relax by the wood burning fire.
This charming updated farmhouse has four spacious bedrooms and comfortably sleeps up to ten people. The home is lovingly cared for because it is our little piece of heaven and we are so happy to be able to share it with others.
The main floor principle bedroom suite was built in 2023 and features a king bed and main floor bathroom with a walk in shower. This area can be closed off from the rest of the house or left open so others can access the main floor washroom.
Upstairs has three bedrooms which all form part of the old house. Two bedrooms with queen size beds and one bedroom with two twin beds, perfect for the kids. There is a full bathroom upstairs with a claw foot bathtub.
The basement is fully renovated with laundry and a family room for the kids to play or to watch a movie or the big game. There is a full bathroom with a shower. The family room also has a built-in queen size bed nook with a queen size bed. Perfect space for a couple.
The living room on the main floor is comfortable and inviting with a wood burning stove which provides ample heating. The dining room can accommodate 10 people at the beautiful harvest table.
The newly renovated (2023) large country kitchen is well equipped with cooking tools and supplies and features a large island with seating. Perfect for gathering together for making a large meal.
In the warmer season, you will enjoy your morning coffee on the back deck and spend the rest of your time on the large screened in porch which was added in 2023. You won’t want to leave this west facing room which has plenty of space for reading a book, afternoon naps, board games and dining without the bugs!
Basic cable is available and the house is equipped with ample wifi to work remotely. A separate office space is available with a stand-up desk and monitor.
The farmhouse was built in a different era - over 100 years ago. That adds to the character, but it also means the staircases are more steep than today's build and the doorways are a little shorter.
For winter/spring 2024, we just finished a major renovation and parts of the exterior landscaping may be unfinished. Hopefully the grass will grow in nicely!
General necessities are provided: towels, linens, pillows, blankets, paper products, soap. Food, personal items and beach towels are not included.

About the host
Your host
City dweller who likes to escape to the country. When I am not at our country home, I am happy to open it up to others looking to take a trip out to the Beaver Valley. I've been hosting on Airbnb for 7 years and am only recently listed on VRBO.
Why they chose this property
We chose Grey County because of its proximity to the GTA and its picturesque landscapes, including rolling hills, lush forests, and numerous lakes. For me, there's no better drives (in Southern Ontario) than those through the Beaver Valley! The region offers abundant opportunities for outdoor activities such as hiking, skiing, and cycling, which is perfect for individuals who enjoy an active lifestyle and appreciate access to nature.
I also love all the local small towns, like Flesherton, Kimberley, Clarksburg and Thornbury where you can find anything you need at the nice small shops and some really great dining options.
What makes this property unique
Aisling house is a recently updated farmhouse that blends the look and feel of a traditional Ontario rural property with the comforts of modern living. The property boasts a beautiful century old bank barn and a log cabin that used to be a Ferrier. While the house sits on a modest three acres, the property which surrounds the house is undeveloped providing a tranquil getaway.
