About this property
Cozy Cottage in Beaver Valley
Welcome to a place where nature and comfort harmoniously coexist. Our home from home. Escape to our serene four-season retreat, ideal for the entire family. Our cozy farmhouse, nestled among the trees, offers tranquility and seclusion at the top of Beaver Valley. Just moments away from stunning valley vistas, year-round. Whether you seek adventure or relaxation, our property is the perfect destination for your next getaway.
The house is situated on a 2.4 acre lot that is backed by a local conservation area.
The open floor plan of the main level is surrounded by windows and great for entertaining and being together. On the main floor is the kitchen, dining room, a big washroom and two living rooms, one that we refer to as the “sunroom” and another we call the “snug” with a pellet stove and TV. The sunroom or the snug can also work as a fourth bedroom, with the option of a pullout sofa bed in one and a single sofa bed in the other. The second level has three minimalist bedrooms with double beds and a washroom.
The yard is an all season oasis, with barrel sauna, hot tub and cold plunge. Access to back yard conservation paths and in the summer the grounds have hammocks, and a sports field for guests to enjoy, outdoor furniture and a fire pit.
Guest access
This accommodation includes the entire house, with the exception of the locked storage area in the basement. The barn is off limits due to safety. Parking is available on site and comfortably fits three cars, additional cars can be parked in front of the barn. The property is gated and we ask guests to keep the gate open in winter months so the local farmer can plow the drive.
Other things to note
We are on septic and the water is from a well. We ask our guests to be mindful of flushing (seperate bins are provided for toilet paper and sanitary waste) and manage with reasonable water use.
The house is located in a rural community that feels secluded but with neighbouring properties, please be respectful.
To enter the main house guests will need to be able to walk up a small flight of stairs
In winter months a four wheel drive is recommended to access the property as the driveway is on a slope.
Snow removal is managed by the local farmer.
If you are coming for skiing there are several resorts near us. Beaver Valley Ski Resort (down hill) which is a 3 minute drive away and a members only club. Beaver Valley Nordic Trails Ski Resort (cross country, snowshoeing, snowmobiles and hiking) which is also a 3 minute drive and is open to the public and offers day passes to non members and Blue Mountain Ski Resort (down hill) which is a 27 minute drive away and open to the public.
