The 'Small House' has a bedroom, bathroom and cosy landing (+sofa bed) Downstairs are the studio with sofa bed (with access to the terrace and garden) and a bedroom with multigym. The old house has two double bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs, a double bedroom downstairs and an adjacent seating area with a lovely view over the village. The barn accesses the terrace and garden through large french windows. Next to the barn is the master bedroom with a double bed and its own access to a private outside terraced area.

There are two washing machines, ironing board and a washing line. The garden is accessed from the studio and from the barn.

At the corner of the building is the large fixed grill adjoined to the terrace where seating is available.

About the host

My wife and I are retired school teachers, having worked in the UK and Germany and are now settled in this beautiful area of France. We enjoy every minute improving the house and landscaping the grounds, cooking delicious French recipes and discovering new wines. We are happy to see our guests enjoying themselves by the pool, barbecueing and having fun. Children are much loved visitors and are safe at 'Le Pré'!

Why they chose this property

St Paul de Serre is located in the beautiful Dordogne with access to some of the most beautiful countryside in France. Just south of Perigueux and north of Bergerac it affords access to culture, history, restaurants and most of what the heart may desire.
My wife and I were charmed by the farm complex, which was built by a family fleeing the North of France at the time of the French Revolution. They settled in the vicinity of the old convent, which you can still see opposite the Church of St Paul. The oldest part of the property, the 'Old House', originates from those cruel years, the barn was built in 1832 and contains a Maltese Cross, as a pisé flooring.

What makes this property unique

Peace and relaxation, long walks while still in the grounds of 'Le Pre', privacy in this large property, safe and plentiful parking. Lots of interesting markets in Perigueux, Vergt, St Astier, Villamblard or Bergerac, all at a few minutes drive.
