If you want to stay in a traditional Maltese house in a traditional Gozo village then you will not find anything more perfect - house fitted out to an excellent standard.

A Beautiful House

A wonderful fortnight in beautiful house. Just 3 of us, so plenty of room to stretch out and enjoy. A beautiful renovation of older part of building, beautiful pools and every comfort. A couple of small queries dealt with in an extremely friendly and efficient manner by Franco. Another fabulous holiday on Gorgeous Gozo. People and restaurants as friendly as ever. Can't wait to go back.

Modernes Haus - sauber, ordentlich, leider zu laut

Wir haben 1 Woche Urlaub mit Familie und Freunden in diesem wunderschön saniertem Haus verbracht. Die Lage des Hauses ist mitten im Ort (wie beschrieben). Man hat fußläufig gute Restaurants. Auch der Hafen zur Fähre ist in ca. 30-40 Min. zu Fuß zu erreichen. Die kleine Badebucht ist ca. 25 min. entfernt. Alles in allem ein tolles Haus (sauber und ordentlich). Es waren ausreichend Handtücher für alle vorhanden. Die Pools (innen und außen) waren sauber und wurden von uns gut benutzt. Die Klimaanlagen laufen super und machen im Nachtmodus kaum Geräusche. Der Vermieter Franco war jederzeit erreichbar und bei Fragen zu Stelle. Alles in Allem ein wirklich schöner Urlaub. Leider gibt es 3 Punkte die so sehr stören, dass wir in diese schöne Haus wahrscheinlich nicht zurückkehren würden: 1. In der Beschreibung des Hauses vor Ort wird fast alles untersagt was etwas laut sein könnte (z.B. nur leise Musik tagsüber, Abends keine Musik und keine lauten Gespräche draußen). Soweit hat man ja Verständnis und aus den Partyjahren sind wir ja altersbedingt raus, aber die Nachbarn haben bereits um 20.30 Uhr geschrien und sich beschwert wenn es mal etwas lauter zuging und wir sprechen nicht von einer Party! 2. Bereits in den frühen Morgenstunde bellen mehrere Hunde so laut, dass von Ausschlafen keine Rede sein kann. Wir dürfen Abends nicht mal ein lauteres Gespräch führen aber die Hunde dürfen schon vor 7 Uhr bellen um alle zu wecken. Von Ruhe kann hier also keine Rede sein. Die Kirchenglocken finde ich persönlich nicht so störend, aber die anhaltende Bellerei ist wirklich schlimm. Hier ist sicherlich kein guter Platz für Langschläfer. 3. Die Parkplatzsituation war wirklich furchtbar. In der Straße vor dem Haus findet man mit viel Glück meist einen Parkplatz aber manchmal muss man ganz schön rum suchen um nicht vor einer Garage zu stehen. Alles im Allem ist das Haus selber sehr empfehlenswert. Ich allerdings werde wieder Häuser suchen die mehr im Abseits sind mit eigenen Stellplätzen und viel Ruhe sowie ohne direkte Nachbarn. So mitten drin in einer Stadt, dass muss man wollen. Wenn man allerdings mit Parken und Geräuschen keine Probleme hat, dann ist das Haus uneingeschränkt zu empfehlen.

- The negatives: CCTV camera's overlooking the pool & terrace; Rock hard beds; Grubby & stained crockery; No cushions on any of the outside furniture; Overlooked by noisy neighbouring properties; Dogs barking & church bells ringing throughout every night; Thoroughly unpleasant owners. - The positives Leaving. Having rented property 8 times in Gozo I can honestly say this is the worst house & experience with owners I have ever had. AVOID AVOID AVOID

Amazing

The Muse is a lovely house with stunning views. Fantastic location to explore Gozo and close to the centre of Qala village. We were met by the owners who showed us around. They had tastefully decorated the house for Christmas which was greatly appreciated along with the Christmas goodies. I would highly recommend this property.

Schönes Haus mit Schwächen

Das Haus ist wunderschön. Der Outdoor-Bereich für meinen Geschmack zu klein. Leider keine Privatsphäre im Aussenbereich, da einsehbar. Das schlimmste waren jedoch die nachts bellenden Hunde (das Haus ist leider sehr hellhörig), die einen regelmäßig aufwecken. Ansonsten ist alles da, was man braucht.

Family break to celebrate birthday

The Muse both met and exceeded our expectations. The location was great being tucked away down a small alley. We were able to park our hire cars close by and the main town square of Qala was only a couple of minutes walk away. The property has been finished to a very high standard with a large open plan living area and well appointed kitchen. The outside pool was very popular with all our party with plenty of sun loungers available to stretch out and relax on. In the evening the pool lights and other external lights could be switched on to create a cosy atmosphere and enjoy a few glasses of wine or beer. We never made use of the indoor pool in the basement nor the gym equipment as we all wanted to enjoy the warm Gozo sunshine. All the bedrooms had air conditioning which was a must given the warm temperatures during our stay. We were a party of 8 adults making use of all four bedrooms and everyone appreciated the comfortable beds. Three of the rooms had en suite bathrooms and there were 2 further bathrooms, one on the same level as three of the bedrooms and one downstairs off the main living area. We all appreciated and made use of the WiFi in the property but no one made use of the TV in the lounge during our stay. Franco provided very clear instructions as to how to get to the property from the ferry terminal at Mgarr, a drive of less than 10 minutes. I would highly recommend the Muse to anyone wanting to visit Gozo. It was a great place to celebrate my 60th birthday with my family. Thanks again Franco for allowing us to stay at your lovely property.

das haus ist sehr schön, groß mit einem tollern und wenig einsehbaren pool. die lage ist sehr gut, da man in minuten zu der kleinen ortsmitte gelangt mit piazza und guten restaurants. das ist alles sehr entspannt, wenn man sich ausruhen möchte, sehr gut. die ausstattung ist gut, aber nicht perfekt, was die kochuntensilien angeht. und es fehlen auflagen für die aussenliegen.

Beautiful Villa in a friendly village location

Stayed here as a family of 4 adults and 2 children. We were met by the owner Franco and shown around. The villa is immaculate and we had a relaxing and enjoyable stay. Initially the children were disappointed as the indoor pool / hot tub was not heated - but to be honest in July it was much better to use the outdoor pool which was lovely. The restaurants in Qala were good and the atmosphere in the town square at night was very nice. Could have happily stayed at the villa and relaxed for the duration of the holiday but if you want to see more of Gozo, as we did, it was helpful to hire a car / minibus to explore. Thank you Franco.

Lovely house

We stayed here as a family of 8, 5 adults and 3 children. The house is beautiful, the photos really don't do it justice. There was plenty of space for us all. The house was really well equipped with everything we could have needed. The house was only a couple of minutes walk from the centre of Qala village which had couple of restaurants and bars and a mini market/shop. The beach is in walking distance which was a nice walk down but quite a steep walk back up. Franco was very responsive when we had a query. We had a lovely stay here and the house was perfect.

A superb holiday adventure in Gozo

On our arrival at the villa we were met by the owner, Franco, his wife and their daughters, they were very helpful and showed us round the villa. Which is beautiful, spacious, stylish, clean, and offers everything you need for you holiday. There were also some basic supplies waiting for us. The beds and bedding are of good quality and all of us slept very well there. Set in Qala the location of the villa is a great base to explore Gozo. In Qala there is a small supermarket, chemists, great bars and restaurants, all the locals are very friendly. There is a larger supermarket within easy driving distance towards Victoria, which is also lovely. Qala is just a very short drive down to Hondoq Bay, where boat hire is available. We hired our own boat a couple of times and had two great trips around the islands. We used Eagle Garage in Qala for our airport transfer and car hire, they were very helpful. We hired an open back jeep for our two week holiday, and toured the whole island. The jeep was ideal as there are 7 of us, so we could all go together, which was fun. The neighbours are English and very nice and helpful. Overall it was a wonderful holiday. This is a very special villa, which we would recommend to anyone visiting Gozo. We would like to return one day. Thank you Franco.

A fantastic holiday in a lovely location

Our party of six adults enjoyed a fabulous holiday in Qala. The house has been renovated to the highest possible standard. It is clean, bright and welcoming. It is also very well equipped with plenty of crockery, glasses and kitchen equipment. Franco checked we were happy with everything and came quickly when the gas ran out on the barbecue, which we were happy about. The outside space is lovely with plenty of loungers and seating. We didn't really use the indoor pool as we spent more time outside but it was an added bonus. Having the indoor pool would make this an ideal winter holiday location. Qala itself is a nice place to stay. There are plenty of restaurants and shops to buy provisions, although we drove to a larger supermarket on the road out of Mgarr to get our bulk buys. We can highly recommend Teddy the Butcher in Victoria for high quality meat for the barbecue! From Qala it's not far to anywhere. There are some lovely beaches nearby. Franco and Consuela have left information about local attractions and some of our party enjoyed kayaking to the Blue Lagoon. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday in this truly lovely place. Prachtig huis!

We vonden het een heerlijk huis, heel sfeervol. Meer dan genoeg ruimte voor twee gezinnen met kinderen. Het buitenzwembad was super, het binnenzwembad een luxe. Het huis ligt vlakbij een leuk plein met bars, restaurants en supermarkt. En vergeet vooral de locale bakker en slager niet. Gozo is nog authentiek en er is genoeg te doen: strand, paardrijden, wandelen en cultuur. Kortom: een echte aanrader!

What a Gem!

There were 8 (adults) of us staying in this most beautiful property in Qala, for a week in September 2017. The house is breathtakingly stunning; the decor, the comfort, it is very well equipped, great views and location - the list is endless. Its located in the end of a short alley (no cars), very quiet and private location. And at the same time it is only 3 min walk from the Qala town square which has restaurants, pub, pharmacy, butchers and small grocery shop. Even though the house doesn't come with parking, it is not a problem. In fact, we made some good friends with the people front of whose houses we parked and were invited in for coffee and cakes. Franco and Consuela were incredibly welcoming too and made sure we were ok. We absolutely loved it and made our Gozo holiday very special.

We , as a german family of four, spent a few days in this wonderful house in Qala / Gozo, where there is really nothing missing and nothing to complain about. The house is a dream - with special attention to the detailed furniture, absolutely clean and very well-prepared for us. In October, the sunrise with a fresh coffee on the spacious beautiful terrace by the pool, or the roof terrace to see the sun disappear in the sea, is really great. The equipment is as described and leaves nothing to be desired. Even in the rain you can enjoy in here, thanks to the cozy interior and the indoor pool. The property is located near the center of the small idyllic village of Qala, purchases can be done at three small supermarkets that are also reachable by foot. For the afternoon coffee or also for the lunch, there are several restaurants / bars around the market place, where anyone can easily get in contact with open-minded local natives. A special highlight to a morning jogging round about 2 km distant to small bay with a refreshing dive in the wonderful clear sea. All in one, pure relaxation and definitely a place we will return to! A huge “thank you” to Franco and his family, combined with a special compliment for this perfect property.
