About this property
Cottage sleeping 4 in a peaceful rural, riverside location
Riverside Cottage is a high quality, 2 bedroom self-catering holiday cottage located on the banks of the river Dryfe in the small, peaceful, rural village of Boreland, a few miles north of Lockerbie in Dumfries & Galloway, Scotland.
Riverside Cottage’s location is a great base for visiting local attractions in Dumfries & Galloway and enjoying cycling (within 30-60 minutes of 7 stanes routes), walking and golfing (7 courses within 30 minute drive) as well as catching the train for a day in Edinburgh or Glasgow. It is also perfect, however, if you just want to relax, unwind and enjoy the peace and quiet of the rural setting. Chariots of Fire Driving Centre is located in the village where you can book riding or carriage driving lessons or just have a look around at the ponies and other animals.
The cottage is perfect for a couple, family or 2 couples looking for high quality, comfortable self catering accommodation in a quiet, rural location. If you want to get away from the fast pace of life and feel the need to recharge your batteries, plan your trip to Dumfries & Galloway and make Riverside Holiday Cottage your home from home.
Riverside Cottage is a detached former bothy built c.1880 which has been renovated to a modern, high standard, luxury self-catering property. About the host
Hosted by Kate Nutt

I grew up in the village on a farm and moved a few hundred metres down the road in 1995 when I got married to where we live now. My parents sold the farm nearly 20 years ago and it is now Chariots of Fire Driving Centre.
Why they chose this property
The property belonged to my family until the 1970s. I have lived in the village all my life. We purchased the neighbouring property in 1994 before we got married and I wanted one day to buy the cottage back. We did this in 2015 and took 2 years to completely renovate the cottage ready to let as a self catering holiday home.
What makes this property unique
Stunning views, peaceful riverside location, central to many attractions and activities, only 10 minutes from the M74 and train station.
