About this property

Stockman's Cottage, Foulsham, Norfolk

Featured in Country Living Magazine, this delightful detached rural retreat has two characterful bedrooms, two bathrooms and a large living area, so will suit either a couple wanting to escape to the country, a group of friends or a family of four. This little gem has charm in abundance, with an inglenook fireplace with wood burning stove, oak beams throughout and lashings of Farrow & Ball paint!

Quite deceiving on first glance, this is a rather spacious cottage, offering plenty of room to spread out and relax. Set beside the farmhouse of Westfield Farm, which is located on the outskirts of the village, Stockman's Cottage and it's elegant interiors have been featured in many photographic shoots. Offering gorgeous interiors and attention to detail in a truly lovely rural setting this cottage is also in walking distance to a good village pub serving food.

Step inside the beautiful kitchen and you will instantly feel at home. The kitchen features painted cupboards and granite worktops and a farmhouse table to all sit down together.

Warm and homely, the sitting room has squashy sofas and an inglenook fireplace with wood burning stove, television and DVD player.

For those needing to work while away, there is an office/snug which also doubles as a play room if required. Downstairs you will also find a spacious bathroom with claw foot bath so you can enjoy long soaks after a day of walking! Upstairs you have a choice of bedrooms; the master which features a beautiful French bedstead and shower en-suite and one twin bedroom with garden views; both beautifully styled.

There is a good village pub and local shop within walking distance and you are just a short drive to the North Norfolk coast and hidden gems such as Heydon, Reepham and Holt. There is plenty of outside space and ample off road parking too. You have your own private fully enclosed lawned cottage garden.

Stockman's Cottage is well located for discovering and exploring all things Norfolk and you can bring a small pampered pooch too!

8/10 Good

Nice pretty cottage, however in need of minor TLC
The cottage itself is beautifully designed and quirky; however it felt in need of TLC in places:- The information book was well thought out, with great places to eat. We were unable to find instructions for any of the electrical equipment, but kinda muddled through with most. The condition overall is good, but some things were falling apart - E.g. the kickboard below the sink dropped every time you went near it, the handle kept falling off the bathroom door, the Velux blind in the bedroom was broken and the toilet seat upstairs was half off (not good when you sat on it and fell off!!). The cleanliness was okay overall, however the toilets were not clean and smelt - I ended up cleaning them myself. The sofa also had old food under the cushions, plus a few other things. Having to be out of the property by 9am (instead of 10 as advertised) was really difficult with a small child and we had to spend an afternoon packing the day before. People will not be sympathetic that you have 3 cottages to clean, they'll just think lucky you and hire another cleaner!! The location and photos were again sadly misleading. There is a small garden, not anything like pictured, and this is next to a busy road. I would still recommend this property to others. I just think help is needed to improve the overall condition.
