Case Ginezzo: The Farm and the Refuge. Cortona

La Fattoria and Il Rifugio are two ancient stone farmhouses located within the Ginezzo agricultural-forest complex. A protected nature reserve, of about 300 hectares of oaks, chestnut woods and heath habitats, in the mountains above Cortona (AR), located between the Valdichiana, the Trasimeno Lake and the Valtiberina. The farmhouse complex overlooks a romantic and beautiful panoramic view that shows Lake Trasimeno and the typical landscapes of Piero della Francesca.
In two hours it is possible to reach Florence, in an hour Siena and Perugia by car or train.

Leisurely Contemplation

We had a very enjoyable stay in the countryside setting with spectacular views - and ideal place to simply relax and enjoy the ambience. For the more energetic there are several hiking paths that wind through the hills and woodlands around the property. The property is conveniently located for day trips to various Tuscan tourist attractions.

Friends & Family Reunion Bliss

This house has it all for a large group - the view, the space, the pool, the pristine nature. We had a great time and especially enjoyed the central pavilion that provided an ideal outdoor entertaining space. Heads up: 1. This is a remote house - so need to plan accordingly. The nearest supermarket is a 20min drive away down a winding road. 2. The layout of the buildings will mean you'll walk A LOT back and forth from the pool to your rooms. 3. You're up in the mountains and will need to take your trash and recycling to the nearest disposal area (about a 10min drive from the house).

Unterkunft mit traumhaftem Ausblick

Der Aufenthalt war sehr schön. Die Räumlichkeiten sind sehr groß, man hat viel Platz. Der Weg bis dahin ist über Schotterwege etwas abenteuerlich, aber auch mit 9-Sitzer Bussen gerade so meisterbar. Mit Tieren sollte man auch etwas klar kommen, da direkt in der Natur gelegen. Rundum war es eine tolle Zeit.

Ein magischer Ort

Wir haben eine wundervolle Woche mit intensivem Üben, vielen Gesprächen, morgentlichen Ritualen (singen, Yoga, schwimmen...), tollen Auftritten in der Umgebung, kleine Wanderungen... hinter uns. Morgens aus dem Haus und diesen Blick auf den Lago di Trasimeno - wow. Diese Weite, die einen umgibt. Einfach traumhaft. Mittags lecker bekocht von Luca. So konnten wir unsere Zeit zum proben voll ausnutzen. Einziges Manko ist der Zufahrtsweg. 2 km Abenteuer. Mit normalem Pkw eigentlich nicht mehr gut befahrbar. Nachdem es dann noch heftig geregnet hatte, war der Weg noch schlimmer. Ich hoffe, dass der Weg vielleicht doch irgndwann noch gemacht wird. Ansonsten ein traumhafter Ort für eine große Gruppe. Wir waren 19 Personen

Traumlage

Für die Lage der Häuser und die Aussicht kann man gar nicht genug Sterne vergeben: Kilometerweite Fernsicht, traumhafte Sonnenuntergänge, spektakuläre Gewitter. Der Pool hat unsere Erwartungen übertroffen, er ist größer als gedacht und bis zu 1,80 m tief. Zentraler Treffpunkt ist ein großer überdachter Bereich, hier haben wir uns vor allem abends aufgehalten. Die Ausstattung der Häuser ist einfach, viele Möbel haben ihre besten Tage hinter sich. Die Küche in der Fattoria ist klein und hat kaum Stellfläche, die Küche im Rifugio größer, aber hier hat der Herd so seine Tücken. Die Anlage liegt sehr abgelegen in den Bergen bei Cortona und ist über einspurige Schotterwege erreichbar, mit unseren PKWs gerade so machbar. Bis zum nächsten Supermarkt fährt man ca. 25 min. Insgesamt haben wir 2 wunderbare, erholsame Wochen in Ginezzo Fall verbracht. Mit der Ausstattung konnten wir uns arrangieren, hier gäbe es aber Verbesserungspotential. Die sagenhafte Lage bleibt in Erinnerung.

Charming, rustic and peaceful

One of the most spectacular sunsets I’ve ever seen! A remote and peaceful place to truly relax, and also close to some incredible towns to visit. The hostess was easy to reach and very hospitable.
