Villa Avrilio is surrounded by 12.000 sq meters of natural landscape on the quiet hillside of Galatas. It has its own private pool (10m x 4m) with its own unique views of the Mediterranean Sea, White Mountains, and the city of Chania. The grounds are surrounded by olive trees, orange trees, and various kinds of flowers and aromatic herbs. The location ensures a fun, peaceful and relaxing experience away from the hustle and bustle of the town and vacationers. Parking, barbecue, and outdoor recreational area are included.

To ensure complete privacy and peaceful environment, each villa is surrounded by naturally crafted stone walls and various kinds of flowers, aromatic herbs, olive trees, lemon trees and apricot trees. To learn more about where the villas are situated on the grounds please look at our aerial pictures. Each villa offers natural surroundings for you and your family to relax and have fun.

Our villa has all you need and more to enjoy a self catering holiday. Adding to the sense of space, there are wooden cathedral ceilings throughout the villas. The villas have ceramic tile floors throughout and state of the art windows and doors that open vertically and horizontally. All windows and doors, including slide doors, contain screens. To ensure a comfortable climate, each room has an air conditioning unit.

Mike and Helen, the owners, who speak Greek and English, live nearby and are there to help and give any advice you may need.

Helen and Mike couldn’t be more welcoming. From coming to find us when we couldn’t find the villa, to the welcoming home made cake, fresh vegetables from the garden, wine and olive oil they went above and beyond. Look forward to our next visit.

Wonderful stay

The villa is at a semi-rural location in the hills with beautiful views of the sea and mountains, yet just a 10 minute drive to a great selection of beaches, restaurants and shops. The house and pool were very clean and well-stocked with the necessities for a self-catering stay. Our flight came in quite late and Helen was very kind in meeting us to ensure we could find the property. The orange cake and wine was a welcome treat as well! Definitely recommend!

peaceful location with captivating views

We enjoyed our stay, particularly swimming in the well maintained, good sized pool. The surrounding gardens of the villa provide a lovely setting while the large terrace overlooking olive groves and the sea beyond was perfect. Thanks to Helen and Mike for sorting out a couple of issues really quickly. Hope to return!

Beautiful peaceful location with great views down towards the ocean

We had a fantastic two weeks here, Helen and Mike were very welcoming the homemade gifts (particularly the cake) were enjoyed very much on arrival! Great size pool, big and deep enough for our children (9,10 years) to enjoy and well maintained/cleanedby the pool person during our stay. We loved exploring the local area and had fantastic food in local restaurants. Chania is a gorgeous place to visit, wandering the narrow streets and walking around the harbour. All in all and excellent holiday

A welcoming and beautiful place

Heating a heatwave on Crete wasn't ideal but the villa and location were perfect. The pool and air con saved us! The villa was spacious and the views across to the sea and mountains were stunning. Helen and Mike were really helpful and welcoming. Highly recommend.

Wonderful and welcoming visit in a tranquil setting

We were a family of 5 who visited for a week. The villa is located in the most beautiful private setting ... amongst olive trees on a mountain with a gorgeous ocean view. It is near Chania and minutes from a village with a great restaurant. The villa was clean, spacious and a great place to relax and unwind as a family. The pool and the grounds were a hit with the kids. The owners , Helen and Mike, are lovely people who did everything to make our stay perfect. Our kids loved the orange cake, lemonade and cucumbers-- they are already asking for a return visit!

Perfect restful holiday

Helen and Mike were most kind and helpful, guided us to the house, which we would not have otherwise found. They were ready to answer any questions. The location is beautifully quiet, with lovely views over olive groves, all the way to the coast. The rooms were spacious with excellent air conditioning. Also superlative was the large pool, with plenty of seating for sunbathing etc. And yet the house is within easy reach by car of shops, beaches etc. We can recommend the house to anyone!

Fantastic stay

Comfortable villa 15 min away by car to the town of Xania. Our family of 5 (kids 15-12-10 y old) were happy to have privacy in a fabulous decor, great view, surrounded by olive and fig trees. Mike and Helen responded very quickly to the small questions we had. Genuinely nice people, who make sure you have a great stay, even greeting us with homemade wine, cake and olive oil. If you’re looking for a hotel type of property in the heart of the city, this won’t be the place for you. Thanks again Mike and Helen!

Relaxing

Very nice location in a valley but close to the coast and close to the village by car. Privacy is very protected by the olive trees and oaks. I would improve the amount of pots, pans and cutlery of the kitchen. But I guess that it is not relevant if the guests are planning to go out all the time.

Beautiful villa, nicely located

The villa Avrilios is exactly as described (note that the pictures of the 3 villas are mixed) : clean, fully air conditioned, comfortable beds, swimming pool and nicely situated with beautiful sea view. Its situation, slightly away from Chania, allows to access easily to local attractions by the main road. We particularly enjoyed the large covered terrace with the view on olive groves and sea. A slight note : the amount of crockery as well as the size of the dishwasher are a little limited for 4 adults and 3 children. The most of the villa is its very hospitable and helpful owners (kind gifts, additionnal cot, beach towels, beach toys for kids, good advices...) Thanks a lot to Helen and Mike. We would strongly recommend the property.

We have recently returned from a fabulous two weeks at this wonderful villa. The villa is situated in the hills and has everything that you need for a relaxing holiday. It is spacious, clean, well equipped and has excellent air conditioning and WiFi. The villa has a large balcony that spans the width of the property. From the balcony there are steps that lead down towards a large garden and then to a private pool. The pool is big enough to swim and deep enough for jumping in! The pool was cleaned regularly during our stay. There are stunning views of the sea and mountains from all parts of the villa. Helen and Mike the owners of the property are super friendly and extremely helpful. They answered any questions that we had quickly and were happy to help. We had a hire car for the duration of our stay and I feel like it was necessary to access the villa and explore the area. The villa is tucked away but is close to many amenities that are easy to reach by car.We loved our stay and had a brilliant holiday from start to finish.

Phenomenal!

Michael and Helen were fantastic! We arrived very late at night and struggled to find the villa due to our sat nav, and without hesitation Helen met us to show us the way to the villa. The villa was immaculately clean and we were very pleased to find a delicious orange cake, oranges, olive oil and wine. The olive oil and wine is produced by Michael and he very kindly gave us more when we ran out as we loved it so much. The pool is great and made such a difference being our own private pool. There are steps which lead down to the pool so bear that in mind if you have any mobility issues. The villa is in a central location, ten minutes to Lidl and the nearest beach but you definitely need a hire car. I cannot recommend them enough! We will definitely be returning guests. Thank you so much for making our family holiday spectacular! Xx

Propriété très bien située et propriétaire très sympa et toujours arrangeante à la moindre demande (habite dans une maison à proximité). Les grands + : magnifique balcon-terrasse et grande piscine où on peut faire de vraies longueurs. Au calme et superbe vue. Les petits - : manque un micro-onde et des fournitures de bases (produit vaisselle et capsules lave vaisselle). En conclusion, on reviendrait avec grand plaisir !!!

Nous avons adoré notre séjour de trois semaines. L'endroit est idéal pour ceux qui veulent découvrir l'ouest de l'île. Nous n'avons jamais eu un tel accueil et une telle attention de la part des propriétaires au cours de nos voyages. Un grand merci à Helen et Mike We loved our stay there. Fabulous break with glorious views

A lovely holiday with friends in next door house. We visited beautiful beaches and enjoyed eating out and at the villa. It was a comfortable base and the pool was great for family games.

Wir sind schon sehr oft in Ferienhäusern gewesen. Dieses Objekt war wirklich sehr sehr schön. Der Ausblick, der Pool und vor allem die Vermieterin Helen waren einfach toll. Lovely location

Just got home from a wonderful holiday in the three bedroom villa.Helen and mike could not be better hosts from a warm welcome when we arrived with a cake and wine to arranging airport transfers,taxis and helping us with hire car arrangements nothing was too much trouble.The villa and pool are perfect and the views are just stunning you are far enough away from it all that you can enjoy the peace while only being 30 mins by car from Chania and less than 15 mins to some good local restaurants and the beach and around twenty mins from the nearest water park.Chania harbour is a beautiful place to eat and our three girls loved the variety of shops in the old town.At the time of our visit the wi-fi was not very reliable and the satellite tv was not working but these are small prices to pay and can only be expected when the villa is in such a beautiful rural location.I can thoroughly recommend this villa and look forward to returning and Thankyou again Helen and Mike.

The villa was fab - comfortable and relazing with great views of sea and mountains.

The villa was as described, fully air conditioned, comfortable beds, cleaned twice a week and in a great location - peaceful but with quick and easy access to amenities, local attractions and main road network for going futher afield. Crete has amazing history, fabulous scenery, beeches and local foods. We really chilled out, relazing by the pool or more frequently on the balcony with the views and cooling sea breeze. The owners are extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful. We would definately recommend the property and would return ourselves. Family of 4 with 2 teenage children

A true slice of paradise

My family and I had the most wonderful stay in Villa Avrilio. Helen and Mike are wonderful...we arrived to wonderful Cretan goodies and a fabulous villa. Conveniently located for beaches, chania, airport and amazing food places and yet so secluded with views over valleys and to the sea. Peaceful, relaxing and completely perfect.
