About this property
LakeFront Cabin Private Dock ez access nr Smoky Mtn Aug/Sep/LaborDay dates avail
This log cabin is located on beautiful Douglas Lake and close to the Great Smoky Mountains. We are conveniently located 6 miles off the interstate and 3 miles from downtown Dandridge. This cabin is ideal for couples or active families that enjoy the water and the mountains. This cabin has seasonal water early April to late Sept./early Oct. depending on rainfall. We have a floating dock as long as we have water in the cove.
New pergola deck near the water with picnic table and adirondack chairs. New walkway from the lower deck transitions the hill to the pergola. Canoe available for guests. Also, newly added firepit!
The main bedroom has a king size memory foam mattress, the 2nd bedroom has a queen and the 3rd has two XL twins. The cabin is two levels with the 3rd bedroom, family room, laundry room and one bath on the lower level.
The upscale kitchen comes fully stocked. The dining table has a self-storing leaf that effortlessly converts the table to seating for eight. The spacious family room on the lower level has a 65" smart TV, foosball table and a gas fireplace. The upstairs living room also has a 55" flat screen TV and wood burning stove. The cabin has a gas grill, two decks with one covered and screened and another that is covered in the front.
We have a private dock and there are ski boat, jet ski, pontoon boat, kayak, and paddle board rentals available nearby on the lake. There is a public boat launch 4 minutes from the cabin. The cove offers protection from winds and storms, but gives easy access to the main channel.
The cabin has a front loading washer and dryer. Bath towels, wash cloths and bed linens are provided. Please BRING your own BEACH TOWELS for the lake.
We have tried to make it easy for you so we have provided things like coffee & filters, dishwasher detergent, laundry detergent, and toilet paper. Also provided are basic kitchen items such as zip lock bags, aluminum foil, plastic wrap, paper towels, and garbage bags.
We have installed combination deadbolts on both levels to make it easy and hassle free for you to checkin at your convenience. This also eliminates the need for everyone in your party to have a key.
The cabin has cable TV and wifi/internet.
We do want you to know that the cabin is two levels and the driveway is on the lower level. There is space for a vehicle to park just off the road on the upper level to make loading and unloading easier.
This property is conveniently located close to Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and Cades Cove. There are many activities including white water rafting, hiking, mountain biking, zip lines, Dollywood, Dixie Stampede, Splash Country, Tanger Outlet Mall, The Island, The Titanic Museum, laser tag, miniature golf, go carts, Forbidden Caverns underground cave and many more. Of course that's only if you decide you can leave the beauty of the lake for a little while.
The historic town of Dandridge is only 3.5 miles away and offers convenient grocery shopping, local restaurants and a charming appeal.
Knoxville and the University of Tennessee are 32 miles away so it's a short drive if you are attending any of the Vols games while you are in town. Gatlinburg is also only 32 miles away.
You will find Smoky Mountain Knifeworks, Bass Pro Shops and Tennessee Smokies Baseball Stadium only 11 miles away. And there are 9 golf courses within 30 miles, so bring your clubs!
There are many great mountain roads for motorcycle enthusiasts. Also, Bristol Motor Speedway is 85 miles away.
Douglas Lake (Douglas Reservoir) has over 550 miles of shoreline with a surface area greater than 30,000 acres at full pool. The reservoir itself is 43.1 miles long, with a maximum depth of 140 feet, and collects water from a 4,541 square mile watershed. On Douglas Lake, the typical annual fluctuation of the water level is about 54 feet. The lake is fed by the French Broad River and Nolichucky River, both of which originate in the mountains of North Carolina and Tennessee. Douglas Lake is rated one of the top five Crappie fishing lakes in the nation, also in the top 10 in the nation for Large Mouth Bass. Bassmaster and FLW fishing tournaments are held here frequently.

About the host
Hosted by Bill and Sonja Von Ohlen

We both grew up spending many weekends at the lake, Sonja on this lake just around the corner and Bill on a lake in WI. We have continued this tradition with our own kids and wanted to be able to share this wonderful experience with others. We know you will enjoy all the activity this lake and the area have to offer as well as the peaceful serenity of the evening sunsets.
Why they chose this property
We chose this property because we have spent the last 25 years of weekends, holidays and summers at a cabin very close to this one. We knew for years that we would one day buy a rental property close by and this became available. We know this lake and this area so it was a perfect choice.
This property has it's own private dock and is close to several public boat launches.
