Cliff End is a semi-detached bungalow located in a lovely quiet area of West Wight, set within a small coastal development of privately owned holiday homes. The property is positioned on high ground with beautiful views over the surrounding countryside as well as over the Solent and the Channel, with the iconic Needles visible from the patio. There is also easy access to the coastal footpath. The site’s cliff top position offers a peaceful escape and offers a fabulous vantage point for watching sailing vessels go by. Pitch and putt, crazy golf, football goals and a children’s play area can also be found on site nearby. Situated on the north western coast of the Isle of Wight, the location also serves as a great base to explore all that the western side of the island has to offer and is ideal for walkers, cyclists and families alike.
The fantastic Colwell Bay is located a short walk away, and is one of the most picturesque beaches in the west. There are again spectacular views across the solent to mainland England, with clear, calm waters and gently sloping sand and shingle, it’s an ideal beach for swimming. There is a bar, restaurant and a café to try the exquisite seafood and experience some of the finest sunsets or enjoy a stroll along to neighbouring Totland Bay. In the opposite direction Fort Victoria in Yarmouth is well worth a visit especially if you want to see the Islands native red squirrels where there is a feeding post just behind the model railway exhibition. For surfers and kite surfing enthusiasts, there is Compton Bay a short drive away. One of the Isle of Wight’s best kept secrets, Compton offers a 2 mile stretch of contrasting dark and golden sands, with rolling seas, and a stunning backdrop of multi-coloured sandstone cliffs. It’s also a great place to go fossil hunting, you can actually book tours on the beach to see the dinosaur footprints that are exposed in the sandstone ledge at Hanover Point when at low tide.
Whether you want to explore or just unwind, Solent Point can offer you everything you need for the perfect holiday. There are numerous attractions to discover for all ages on this beautiful sunny island. The Needles Landmark attraction is a must see and is a short distance away to the west, with its chairlift, amusement park, boat rides, lighthouse and coloured sands of Alum Bay. Why not pay a visit to Queen Victoria’s favourite holiday residence, Osborne House and its gardens, perhaps Blackgang Chine which is the oldest themed attraction in the UK, Ventnor Botanical Gardens, Tapnell Farm Park, Carisbrooke Castle or the world renowned sailing town of Cowes. Whatever you decide, one things for sure, the Isle of Wight has plenty to offer. Beach ½ mile. Shop 400 yards, pub and restaurant 1½ miles.
