Practically perfect in every way! We’ve stayed in a lot of places and this ranks right up there! Despite the location on a busy road, once inside you’re treated to an oasis of calm and tasteful tranquility. The owner really has created the perfect home from home, a perfect balance between a personal touch and a perfect holiday escape. Communication was excellent too!

Liam enjoyed everything that a stay at The Old Chapel offers. It’s not too out of the way and inside it really is a tranquil and peaceful space - there’s just something about it. Don’t take my word, look at the reviews then come and be my guest.

Delighted that Wendy and her family appreciated the comfort and quirkiness The Old Chapel offered. The little garden is a lovely little space backing onto fields - a lovely area for dogs, children or just to enjoy a drink in the sun.
The Old Chapel is an interesting and unusual building which Toby obviously enjoyed and appreciated. If you’re looking for somewhere a little unusual, different and super clean then this is the place for you.

Same house lovely would have been very nice to have seen the owners either when we got there or before we left Garden not great didn’t like going along the main road in my pyjamas to let them out. Nick missed not being able to see out of the windows and not having a back door too much trouble to take stuff round to the garden where every day there was a shotgun set off in the mornings. Drove the dogs mad. I would definitely recommend the house for somebody that doesn’t have dogs

I make it very clear in the property description that there is NO DIRECT ACCESS to my little garden and explain access is VIA THE CAR PARK. My pictures are many and varied and clearly define the space I am offering. The garden does back on to fields/farmland, not owned by me. Sometimes there are sheep, sometimes crops and at present the field is beautifully ploughed and sown and a remote audible bird scarer can be heard. This is common practice in the countryside. Many neighbours have dogs who still seem sane and happy. It’s very clear to see the chapel is on a main road from the pictures, I’ve never tried to state differently . This can also be seen from Google Maps . The chapel is a very old and unique space with its own sense of calmness within, which so many have enjoyed visiting… couples, families with children and MANY with dogs. It has a lot to offer to many different people but as with anywhere, it pays to do some homework to check that where you have chosen to spend your precious holiday is the right place for you.
Es war ein sehr schöner Aufenthalt in dieser besonderen Unterkunft. Die Unterkunft ist sehr sauber und der Gastgeber total lieb. Es waren tolle zwei Wochen.

About the host
Hosted by Lu Farnsworth
I’m Lu and I’ve lived on the island all my life but love to travel. I’ve got three grown up sons and three grandsons. I live with my husband Nic and our little dog Reggie.
Why they chose this property
I’ve known this chapel for many years and, in fact, used to live almost next door. When it closed for worship it was so interesting watching the builders reinvent it as a dwelling and when it went up for sale I had to have a look and just instantly knew it was the holiday home my husband and I had been looking for. We had both been looking for somewhere that was homely but with a ‘wow’ factor. Somewhere we’d be pleased to holiday in. It just felt right.
What makes this property unique
The view from the windows on the gallery is beautiful. The private little garden accessed through the car park is secluded, safe and again has lovely views. It’s just the right mixture of original features and modern comfort.
