I've stayed in countless holiday apartments and cottages throughout the Lakes and would say that I enjoyed the view and the quiet from Chapel Cottage the most.On a clear crisp February morning, the village below with the backdrop of the other side of the valley is stunning. The cottage has everything you need. It is more traditional that flash so don't expect absolute luxury but it's super cosy downstairs but has a spacious kitchen and three double bedrooms, one with an ensuite.Askham is just over a mile away with two great pubs and the Michelin restaurant at Askham Hall. That said, the Queens Head now only does pizzas and Askham Hall is up for sale. Had a couple of solid 'pub grub' meals at the Punchbowl.Plenty of walks- Pooley Bridge is about 4 miles away, there are the eastern fells to explore, Haweswater/Bampton and a nice walk along the river Lowther to Askham and beyond.I usually like to try different properties but this is one I would return to in the spring or summer to sit out the front and have a glass of wine with that amazing view.
