*****NEW LISTING APRIL 2022 - This beautiful 17th century stone-built cottage with stunning views and character features, has been renovated to a high standard, located in an elevated position on the edge of Penruddock in the Lake District National Park just four miles from the stunning Ullswater.
This immaculate dog-friendly cottage combines modern comfort with character features which will be sure to please friends, families and couples that holiday here.
Ideally situated in a peaceful location, Mell Fell View Cottage is a great location to explore the Lakes.
The charming old village of Penruddock sits in a secluded position in the northern Lake District just four miles from Ullswater. The village is spread out amongst beautiful rolling countryside and wonderful scenery and is made up of a number of farm dwellings, traditional Lakeland homes and two churches.
Conveniently located 15 minutes from Penrith and 20 minutes from the historical market town of Keswick.

Quick Break in the Lakes

Great location for exploring the northern Lakes. The cottage is really well equipped to a high standard.Very relaxing atmosphere and good parking front and back.We would definitely return.

Cosy, quiet and comfortable cottage

Excellent accommodation and a perfect location to explore this beautiful part of England. Cottage is very well appointed with all that one needs for their stay. It is definitely a property that one could return to without any hesitation.

Stunning location

Beautiful cottage in a stunning location, the cottage is decorated and furnished to a very high standard, beautiful outside space to relax with a morning coffee, equipped with everything you need for a very comfortable stay, the owners have created a fabulous holiday cottage for anyone wishing to explore the north Lakes, highly recommend.

Lovely cottage

Immaculate cottage, well-equipped, beautifully renovated and in a good location. Worth noting in case it makes a difference to some that it's a mid-terrace and the living room is on the first floor. The nearby pub had a really friendly, relaxed atmosphere and overall it was an ideal place for my dog, my parents and me to spend a lovely break in the Lakes.

A delightful getaway

The property was absolutely perfect, clean, very well maintained, and tastefully decorated throughout. It felt like we were the first people to stay there after the place had been renovated. Karen has great taste in decor and had clearly thought about the needs of her guests in setting up the place. A delightful cottage to stay in, and we will be returning as well as recommending it to friends.

Week at Penruddick

Loved the cosy upstairs lounge with the flame effect electric fire and lovely view of a close by field of sheep and hills in the background. (My recent hip fracture made the stairs a bit of a challenge but it was well worth the effort). The dog loved being there. Parking was easy. Two bathrooms a luxury for us - I used the downstairs bedroom and bathroom. KItchen was beautifully equipped. Lots of birds to watch in the back garden.

Mellfell View Cottage ist ein sehr schön renoviertes altes Haus im malerischen Penruddock. Für eine Familie ideal - es ist alles vorhanden, was man braucht. Der Kontakt zur Vermieterin ist sehr unkompliziert und sie antwortet sehr schnell. Eigentlich ist aber alles so gut vorbereitet, dass man gar keinen Kontakt braucht. Das Haus bildet einen guten Ausgangspunkt für Wanderungen und Ausflüge ins nördliche Lake District. Ein wunderschöner Ort!

Mellfell view cottage is in a stunning and quiet location, but not too far away from local towns.
The property is decorated and furnished to a very high standard, with comfortable seating in the lounge area, with electric fire and smart TV. Original beams and vaulted ceiling add to the character, with views out of the dual aspect windows.
The well equipped kitchen is spacious and offers views of the garden and the front of the property, overlooking fields at the front and the quiet lane and enclosed garden at the back. A dining table and island are in the kitchen, as well as a TV.
2 bedrooms, 1 twin and one double are tastefully decorated with original features. The double having an ensuite shower room.
The utilility room has a washing machine and tumble drier, with complimentary detergent.
The large enclosed garden has views of Blencathra, seating provided to enjoy the views with a cup of tea of glass of something!
Private secure parking for 2 cars is situated at the back of the property.
Secure bike storage is available upon request made in advance where possible.

What makes this property unique

Walks and bike rides can be taken from the front door to explore the national park and local areas, or the local deli farmshop a short walk or drive from the cottage.
A bus stop in the village can take you to nearby Penrith or Keswick.
Located 4 Miles from Ullswater, you can enjoy a ride on the Steamers, water sports or wild water swimming, which I can highly recommend! The pretty villages of Pooley Bridge and Glenridding have tea rooms, post office , general store and a couple of pubs. Pooley Bridge also has a bookshop, and outdoor clothing and gift shops.
Airaforce waterfalls are on Ullswater, as well as horse riding and outward bound centre in Glenridding.
Another Place Hotel on Ullswater has a day spa and pool, which is on the Lake. (you will need to book spa in advance).
