We had the best stay at The Mill! As a family of four, we found the cottage comfortable and wonderfully cosy, with plenty of space for all of us. The beds were super comfy, and there were lots of towels—such a thoughtful touch. We loved the character of the place, and Chris (the owner) shared its amazing history with us, which made our stay even more special. The log fire was a fantastic bonus—we enjoyed it every evening, making it a real treat to come home to after a day out.The kitchen was well-equipped, making it easy to prepare meals, and from there, we loved watching the birds feed. From our bedroom we loved listening to the mesmerising sound of the river—it was truly peaceful. Lorraine and Chris have thought of everything, from milk in the fridge and complimentary biscuits to tea towels and washing-up liquid. We didn’t miss a thing! The location is ideal, just a few minutes drive from both Keswick and Penrith, with countless walking trails right from the doorstep. After our walks, we treated ourselves to the local pub, where the food was absolutely delicious. We can’t wait to return to The Mill and hopefully experience it in the warmer months. Surrounded by nature, it truly feels like a little piece of heaven.
