The property was lovely and very open to us. Kitchen well stocked, bedrooms nice and no external noise during our visit
Very dog friendly
Only down side was there was no HDMI ports on the tv to plug in a games console, but you don’t goto the lakes to sit inside.
Will visit again
We had a great stay in Braithwaite and everything at the cottage was excellent. I wasn’t a fan of communicating via the app and being passed between different companies, but that has nothing to do with the cottage which was great. We would like to stay again!

Beech End Cottage, Braithwaite
The property was well equipped in general. to obtain more stars several issues need attention including the supplies in the kitchen No replacement garbage bags, Detergent for washing machine was put away empty as was the toilet cleaner and no kitchen roll. You cannot assume that the renters are all from UK and able to buy supplies which they then take home. The sofas in living room very uncomfortable.
The door lock on the inner door was a problem and the bathroom window wouldn't close.
Despite several attempts we could not get the dishwasher to work.
internet and heating both excellent.

A comfortable property, with everything you could need.
A comfortable property, with everything you could need. Only one problem during the week, their was a fault with the DVD player, the hdmi inputs into the TV are faulty, which meant we couldn't continue to expand our teenagers film knowledge repertoire! The downstairs of the property is in an excellent state of repair, due to the recent flooding of the village, I imagine. However, upstairs could do with some tlc to remove visible damage from damp issues. The only drawback for us was their was no enclosed garden for our dog, but the road outside is very quite and our dog is fairly obedient. We would definitely recommend this property.

We had a very enjoyable stay at Beech End.
We had a very enjoyable stay at Beech End. Very good kitchen facilities. A King Size bed would have been more comfortable- the size of bedroom could easily take one. (There’s a lot of tall, big people would expect one). A 3 seater settee would be preferable as opposed to a 2 - for having a little lie down after walking those hills ?. Plastic Bread bin definitely needs replacing- the lid was very badly stained. All in all a enjoyable break and would stay again.

Back again for the 7th year since 2012: Our ideal Hol cottage ,( so close to the village Shop run by hardworking Daphne: Easy walking distance to the Royal Oak , the best Pub in Braithwaite with a wide range of Jennings Beers, plus lots of tables for evening meals all supervised by Fiona " like the convenience of the Washer Drier only negative ,, the bath is very difficult to get out : Perhaps a plastic Bath Seat a possibility for someone a bit disabled as I ? . Could comply with Disability legislation.

This was our second visit to Beech End.
This was our second visit to Beech End.We enjoyed staying here, yet it is clear that the place could do with a little T.L.C. here and there to raise the standards. Flaking paint, grubby living room carpets, and those uncomfortable sofas will cost relatively little to improve the property. Wi-Fi is now available though,if that is important to you.

My wife and I have stayed in Braithwaite many times, in the past camping with our children and more recently at Middle Ruddings. On this occasion we had a great 5 days staying in Beech End with our 2 young grandchildren. Apart from a musty smell on arrival in the kitchen it couldn't be faulted. We would consider staying again.
