Great house in a very good location. Plenty of room in the house , heating very good throughout with good sized rooms. Great location in village of Portinscale , cafe directly opposite has a wonderful choice of breakfasts. Pub up the road a minutes walk served good traditional beers and ales also well portioned meals.Stunning views all around and we were there when it snowed and so looked stunning , you can see the mountains from back garden.Ten minutes walk into Keswick. Overall a great place in a great location ideal for a short weekend in our case. Will visit again

Comfortable, a short walk in to Keswick, not far from the hills, parking on the drive for 3 cars.

The bungalow was lovely.
The bungalow was lovely. Light, spacious, clean and the garden didn't disappoint - my granddaughters loved it, particularly watching the mother rabbit and her baby eating the windfall apples along with the two pheasants. It was in a great location just a couple of hundred yards or so from the Marina, for walking to Cat Bells down the road, and to the Lingham Estate where Beatrix Potter stayed on the shores of Derwent Water. The only comment would be there was no wardrobe in the second double bedroom only wall hooks and a chest of drawers. Maybe it would be better to have a smaller chest and a small wardrobe. Apart from that, attention to detail was very good, and a nice touch was the pack of cookies and two bars of Kendall Mint Cake on the hospitality tray upon arrival. Although the weather was not kind to us for our week, we got out and about and enjoyed the area which of course is beautiful.

Lovely clean, spacious bungalow and garden with plenty of off road parking.
Lovely clean, spacious bungalow and garden with plenty of off road parking. Only problem with the whole holiday was the en suite shower room. the window wouldn’t open, the door was very heavy and hard to open and close and the toilet brush was disgusting. Then there was a major problem with the drains, sewage came up into the en suite shower, after reporting this to the office a plumber fixed this the same day but the shower was left filthy, I rang the office again the next day and a cleaner came to clean it. So the en suite was unusable for over 24 hours, not good when there are 6 people using one bathroom.

A beautiful clean well furnished and equipped cottage.
A beautiful clean well furnished and equipped cottage. The private garden with plenty deck chairs and table was bonus. Parking for two cars on the driveway. We shared the cottage with my sister and brother in law so the two shower rooms were good.
A lovely 1 mile walk to Keswick and a Bus stop a few yards along the road was handy for returning with shopping .
We will definitely return to this cottage.

Bungalow very comfortable and warm.
Bungalow very comfortable and warm. Situated in a quiet location which we loved and handy for walking into Keswick and for walking around Derwentwater. Lovely garden which we enjoyed sitting in after a day out on the fells and also ample parking. There is no dishwasher but as only two of us we managed ok. Really enjoyed our stay and would certainly revisit.
