Terraced house for 8 by the beach in Aldeas de Taray Club, La Manga
The ground floor of the property comprises a large open plan living/dining area with 2 sofas (one a double sofa bed), fireplace, dining table and chairs. This leads on to the spacious terrace with outdoor seating for 8 people and BBQ. There is also a modern kitchen (with dish washer) and bathroom as well as a patio/utility room with washing machine inside the back entrance. Tiled stairs lead to the upstairs landing and the double bedroom, 2 twin bedrooms and a 2nd bathroom. All bedrooms have fitted wardrobes, wall-fitted fans for ventilation in summer and one has a small balcony with side views to the old golf course and the sea.
The house is situated on the 2nd line to the Mediterranean sea, just about 50 metres from the sandy beach or the pool area.
There are 2 large pools with separate childrens' pools and life guards in the summer, set inside a huge, shared garden with many different types of trees, palm trees and flowering plants. There is also a tennis court, 4 restaurants, a cafeteria/ice cream bar/bakery as well as free use of WIFI.
The complex, Aldeas de Taray Club, is situated nera the end of the La Manga stip in km 17. It is a very nice, quiet area most of the year. In the summer t gets busy, but there is never a lot of traffic or any disturbing bars or discos. There are plenty of water sports centres, beach bars, supermarkets and a large sports centre and gym nearby. A lovely area for walks along the beach, strolling in the marina (Puerto Tomas Maestre)or enjoying dinner in the sunset on the Mar Menor beach. There is free parking and a bus stop just across the road. La Manga has many little centres worth a visit and Cabo de Palos is the old fishing village at the beginning of the strip. The nearest big town is Cartagena and Murcia, the capital is under an hour away by car.

About the host

I am Swedish and my husband English. Our 3 children have grown up in La Manga as we came to live here in 2005. I spend my time renting out our properties, looking after the boys and walking our English setter on the lovely beaches and in the mountains of the nature reserve, Calblanque, near La Manga.
Why they chose this property
We already had a 2 bedroom apartment on the same complex when we decided to buy something bigger. The urbanisation is perfect for families with children so we thought a larger house with space for 1 - 2 families who want to holiday together would be good. Both properties rent fantastically and my returning guests tell me it is because of the personal touch, the location right by the sea with its sandy beaches and the 2 large pools where the children make summer friends they want to return to year after year. The house is very comfortable and located round the corner from the pool, so although near, it is not in the middle of it all. The patio and small garden is more private and away from the noise by the pool. The closeness to the beach, to be able to go for a morning swim before breakfast, then pop to the beach and back home for lunch in the garden or in one of the popular restaurants within the complex. Then an afternoon siesta and then to the pool for a few hours before going for a lovely dinner on the Mar Menor beach or in one of the restaurants in the marina. Or of course a BBQ at home and then a stroll to the ice cream place or the bar.
We have tried to offer all the things people want on holiday; washing machine, dish washer, fans, sun chairs to take to the beach, BBQ and nice linen and towels. And we keep the house clean and updated and listen to suggestions from our guests. As we live in the area we are on hand to help with anything, information, advice, medical problems, translating etc throughout your stay.
And of course the possibility to rent both properties together for a larger group or family.
We have tried to offer all the things people want on holiday; washing machine, dish washer, fans, sun chairs to take to the beach, BBQ and nice linen and towels. And we keep the house clean and updated and listen to suggestions from our guests.
