About this property

Little Pightle, Shipley Plateau escarpment

Set on 7 secluded acres with spacious established rhododendron and azalea gardens, a tennis court and small orchard, Little Pightle is a two storey 1940's weatherboard house offering outstanding views and privacy. It is 3km from Blackheath, the Megalong Valley and bush walks within the National Park. The open plan kitchen (with new Falcon induction stove) joins onto the spacious dining room surrounded by french doors that open up to a verandah running around the house. Breathtaking views of the garden and the Megalong Valley are within sight to admire whilst you cook and eat. The living room includes a flat screen TV, Blu-Ray DVD player and an open log fire, which opens out through french doors to a courtyard garden. The main garden has plenty of space for children to play and a swing and tyre on rope next to the tennis court.
Upstairs is 1 double, with an en-suite bathroom, 1 queen bedroom & 1 triple bedroom with a children's play attic in each and a bathroom upstairs. Downstairs is one bedroom with 2 single beds and a downstairs bathroom with bath and underfloor heating. The house sleeps a total of 9 people.
We have installed solar panels which makes the house more energy-efficient and we have a worm farm for food scraps. Heat pump hot water system, free wifi.

It is a relaxed, comfortable family house and we have many families returning year after year to stay.

Other features include an outdoor gas BBQ, microwave, Nespresso coffee machine, flat screen TV, Blu-ray player, stereo, dishwasher and washing machine. It is also suitable for small weddings (a maximum of 30 people for day functions).

Each bed has an electric blanket and doona and all linen/towels are supplied

Enjoy the beauty of the Shipley Plateau, Hargraves and Mount Blackheath lookouts just a short drive from the house. Megalong and Kanimbla Valleys have horse riding centres, just a 15 minute drive. Or take a short walk to our breathtaking lookout over the Megalong Valley and beyond. The large established garden and tennis court offers space, tranquility & seclusion. You will find the best apples and juice from the renowned Logan Brae orchard on Shipley Road, and particularly beautiful wineries in the Megalong Valley. At the start of the road (4km) is Blackheath's restaurants, cafes and shops.
A weekend booking is 2pm Friday - 11am Sunday.

A beautiful weekend away
A lovely house, with an amazing view. A great place to stay, with lots to do near by. The house is great for families or a larger group. We enjoyed using the tennis court and having s’mores by the fire pit. Everything was really well organised, and we really appreciated all the little details. We’ll definitely be back.

Amazing House and location!
We had a fantastic weekend getaway with a group of old friends. The property is in beautiful surroundings and the house itself is spacious and well appointed and instantly feels like a home away from home. The hosts communications before the visit were first class. Thanks! We hope to return again, next time with the kids!

Amazing house
This house was perfect for our group of five to enjoy a weekend away in the Blue Mountains. It was spacious and comfortable with two indoor fireplaces and a well equipped kitchen, as well as a large amount of outdoor space/grass. The backyard had a treehouse, a swing, outdoor lounge chairs, a small courtyard, and an outdoor firepit, as well as tennis racquets! Katie and Ken happily answered any questions we had in the lead up, and also kindly built the fires in the fireplaces for us to light upon our arrival. I'd highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a large house to enjoy with some friends or family in Blackheath! Note that to reach upstairs is a small and twisted staircase, which may be difficult for some less mobile folk to navigate. As a property out in the bush, don't be surprised if you make some new six or eight legged friends as well!

Cosy Homely Getaway
We very much enjoyed our stay at Little Pightle. The grounds are beautiful and the view over the valley is stunning. We loved enjoying coffee in the winter sun, the short stroll to the lookout and enjoyed the kangaroos and wildlife that visited everyday. The kitchen was well equipped, there are plenty of heaters and electric blankets and the 2 fireplaces are beautiful. Good communication from Katie and Ken and they were friendly and responsive.

We had a family of 7 people ranging from 10 to 80. A tall order! This fab character-filled house suited all of us. Amazing views from the relaxing retreat. Space and places on deck and gardens to relax. And a great full kitchen to cook up. A wonderful stay. Thank you!

A house with real character
Perfect house for a family or friends gathering - lots of space as well as lots of activities to bring people together (loved the football, tennis and boardgames). Lots of interesting touches in the house too - teenagers were fascinated by the old-fashioned scales and sewing machine. All very comfortable and really clean. Hope to be back!

Well located, excellent facilities and spotlessly clean
We are a tennis family and having access to this house with a tennis court was perfect for our family of 5. The house was located in a quiet beautiful part of Blackheath with yard for the kids to run. The house was large enough for us all to have enough space and was spotlessly clean! All small details were catered for, nothing missing or out of place. Log fires for the cold nights, extra blankets available and electric blankets for all beds. We'll definitely be back!

Magical spot, beautiful house
The house is so beautifully appointed and lovingly maintained with many different spots for people to relax in the way they feel like. The private lookout is a superb place for a cup of tea, and an evening around the firepit brought all ages together. Thank you so much for sharing this magical place.
