About this property

Beachscapes, town & beach Dunsborough

Summary:

Dunsborough is surrounded by the beautiful beaches and calm waters of Geographe Bay, but only a 5 min drive to the other side of Cape Naturaliste with the open ocean and great surf of Yallingup Beach, and Margaret River (~25min drive). The outdoor activities are endless & just a short distance away when staying at “Beachscapes”.

The Space:

Perfectly positioned in one of the most prime spots in Dunsborough, choose Beachscapes as home base for your next South West stay. Sitting directly opposite a beautiful (dog-friendly) beach, open parkland and children's playground, with a scenic bike path to town and the waterfront right at your doorstep, you simply cannot go wrong.

You're also just 5 minutes from the surf at Yallingup, 25 minutes from Margaret River, and a short ride to Palmer Winery for lunch. The best of the South West is all within easy reach.

Set on a large, fully landscaped block with a secure, private backyard and shady peppermint trees, the open-plan living and dining area flows out through sliding doors to a covered alfresco with BBQ. The modern kitchen is well-equipped with everything you need, including a Nespresso machine for that essential morning coffee.

- Master bedroom: king bed with private bathroom access

- Bedroom 2: queen bed

- Bedroom 3: ideal for kids — 2 singles and a bunk with their own TV hangout (convertible to 1 bunks + 1 king if preferred)

- Travel cot and high chair available for littlies (upon request)

- Bathroom with dual-access doors, plus a second WC off the laundry

- The hot/cold outdoor shower is perfect for washing off the beach!

**STRICTLY NO STUDENT/ LEAVER BOOKINGS**

Guest Access:

Guests have access to the whole home and garden space. There is a garage at the side of the house that is not for guest use.

Back yard - please note, that while the yard is fully fenced, we cannot guarantee that your dog will not escape. There is a short section of fence that is about 1.5m high, and could be jumped by a large and/or athletic dog. This leads into the fully fenced yard of the house next door, not straight onto a road or public space. According to our local government laws, dogs are not to be left unattended at the property, so the risk of escape is low but not impossible.

The Neighborhood:

Dunsborough is the jewel of the South West region, located on the beautiful shores of Geographe Bay. At low tide, the beach has shallow, clear waters, perfect for kids to play and splash around safely, and on a nice day you will find happy groups of visitors and locals alike paddling, floating, fishing and boating in the serene waters of the bay. Just outside of town there are some more secluded beaches, like Curtis Bay and Meelup.

Dunsborough is home to many lovely local boutiques, cafes, bars and restaurants, and provides a hub for everyone to enjoy good shopping, food and entertainment. A laidback coastal town with a lovely community feel, it experiences a large swell in population during high season, yet you would be amazed how peaceful holidaying here can still be, thanks to beautiful surrounding bush, leafy suburbs and long stretches of pristine beach.

Beachscapes is located directly opposite the parkland at the beach. There is a walk/cycle path is opposite the house which extends into Dunsborough to the West and Busselton to the East.

It's not just about summer here, despite its popularity thanks to the glorious weather; all year round, even when we may be less blessed with warm days and sunny skies, visitors can enjoy hikes, biking, surfing, off-roading, horse riding, cave tours, water sports, fishing, wine and beer tasting, and generally eating and drinking one's way around the area! Visit in spring to catch the whale migration and wild flower season, or in autumn to enjoy quieter beaches and excellent surf.

Please see the Guidebook for our personal recommendations on where to eat, drink, shop and what to see & do in this fabulous region. This list is by no means exhaustive, however, so please get in touch if you need any pointers ahead of your stay.

The Margaret River Wine Region is one of the most prestigious winemaking areas in the world. Considered a “boutique” region, production is relatively small and quality-focused. The unique microclimates and fabulous soils here mean that producers are able to make some of the world’s best Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon, along with a host of other single varietal and blend wines; most wineries will have a good selection of options, including various sparkling wines, Sauvignon Blanc and Shiraz if the flagship varieties aren’t your cup of tea. Many of these wineries are also home to phenomenal restaurants, and your dining options will range from full tasting menus to casual pizzas or grazing boards. If you have any particular restaurant on your wish list, we strongly recommend booking ahead all year round. In peak summer season (December-February), bookings are essential and may need to be made several weeks or months in advance. Please contact us directly if you would like tailored recommendations for your self-guided winery and/or brewery tour. If you have time, we highly recommend buying a ticket onto one of the many locally operated winery and brewery tour buses, for an unforgettable day out of excellent food and drink.

Getting Around:

Dunsborough has a number of walking and bike paths, meaning that it is very easy to get around on foot and any wheels of your choice. We are fortunate to have a couple of local business offering bike hire, and Dunsborough has recently been included in an e-scooter initiative. This house in particular is a short walk to town and directly across the road from the beach, so no need to hop in the car if you want to stay local. Visitors wishing to explore the surrounding area will need a car.
