Lovely weekend getaway from Brisbane. Quaint, well furnished old style cottage with a lot of character in a beautiful country setting. Hosts were very welcoming, easy access, the cottage is very well equipped and the hosts have obviously gone to a lot of effort to make for a very pleasant stay. We loved the beautiful large verandah in the midst of nature. My 18 month old loved all the birds, wallabies, and cows in the field next door. We also loved the little trail to the creek where we could have a dip. We had a lot of fun, thanks so much for having us xx
Beautiful cottage in secluded spot near the creek. Amazing ambiance. We loved it. We’ll be back.Everything you need in the cottage for a great stay. Fireplace in back yard is the best you can get. We did camp oven cooking while watching the tiny fairy wrens and taking in the spectacular scenery
This property was exactly what we were looking for. Beautiful country setting , quiet and the cottage was so nice. It had everything you would want. Highly recommend!!
Fab location surrounded by National Parks and beautiful scenery. Loved the birds, friendly cows, babbling river and nearby walking tracks. Looking forward to the completion of nearby Hilltop Haven which will be on pur bucket list for sure.
This cottage and its surrounds gave our family some time out of the hustle and bustle of life. Warm beds, cosy interior and campfires by night. Plenty of space for kids to walk around in the creek, play soccer and ride bikes. Great communication with the lovely host too!
We had a great experience staying in the country cottage with all the necessities and creature comforts. No wifi or phone reception which allowed us to completely switch off and relax. We explore the local area and climbed up the mountain behind the cabin. The creek, paddock and firepit were added bonuses that enhanced the overall time spent here - highly recommend.
We would recommend Darlington to those who desire a quiet, relaxing few days. Whilst we were not in a position to avail ourselves of the many documented environmental activities, there appears to be no shortage of things to do in a beautiful, natural country setting. Everything was exactly as we hoped!
Its hidden down Kerry Road on the way to the Lost World Valley. Feels a bit like entering Jurassic Park when exploring the cascading creek on the edge of the national park. A great place to take the dog, plenty of walks and we experienced one of the best star lit nights as there is no ambient lights from civilisation.
We loved our weekend, thank you. The lovely back verandah was so cool. Its been years since we have only heard birds and a bubbling brook and cows. Just what the doctor ordered.
The cottage is perfectly located near the Albert River where you can swim. The road leads to nowhere so the traffic is light. The walks are substantial as is the wildlife. Stayed two nights and felt like we'd been there a week.
Neat, cosy, clean property just of the grid far enough to feel like you have separated from the world. Massive deck for relaxing with the sound of the Albert river in the background. The pup always enjoys the yard and river adventures. No hesitation to recommend Eighteen Mile Cottage as a destination.
